This Social Studies Cadre is intended for 6th-12th grade social science teachers and serves as an extension to the Inquiry in the Social Studies Classroom workshop. In this cadre, Jr and High School teachers will continue learning how to apply the new Illinois Social Science Standards in the classroom. Grade- and course-alike teachers will collaborate to design instructional units aligned with the new standards, focusing specifically on application of the inquiry standards in a variety of contexts. Cadre participants will draft an instructional scope and sequence that includes standards-aligned delivery, as well as state-mandated units.
