Geometric Tattoos By Dr. Woo Who’s Been Experimenting With Ink Since He Was 13

Tattoo artist Brian Woo’s dad wanted him to be a doctor, but instead of textbooks, Woo began to experiment with tattoos at 13. Soon he was apprenticed at Shamrock Social Club in LA, where stars like the Sex Pistols, Tupac, and Johnny Depp have been tattooed and waiting lists can be over a year long.
The Doctor describes his technique as fine line black and grey. And the tattoo that made him famous? “A wolf made up of my constellations – the first time I used my signature circles and lines to create an image,” he told modernmet.

How to spray paint jars

How to spray paint jars

gold-painted-mason-jars-3
Spray painting mason jars is really easy. As in super easy. So my sharing a how to spray paint mason jars seems a bit silly …

… but, in my defense, I do have a few tips to share.

Like (1) Here’s the spray paint brand I use …

And (2) I shake that can up. A lot. And I shake in-between sprays. A lot …

… and not just because I love the sound of those beads in the can rolling around. It really does serve a purpose to keep the paint mixed up.

Then there’s (3). I spray side to side. Shake. Depress nozzle. Move from left to right. And back right to left.

Four (4) is the most important one. Especially when using this particular brand of gold spray paint. I only use one coat. Okay, one thick coat. Most spray paint instructions tell you to use multiple thin coats. But with the Valspar Metallic gold spray paint, I found that multiple coats dulls the metallic finish.  So I do that shake and depress the nozzle and move left to right. And back again right to left. And maybe a few more sweeps back and forth to make sure the coverage is complete.

And that’s it. My 4 steps for success in spray painting mason jars gold using Valspar Metallic gold spray paint.

Baby Weasel Takes A Magical Ride On Woodpecker’s Back

Baby Weasel Takes A Magical Ride On Woodpecker’s Back

Though this looks like it could be a fantastic animal rendition of Jasmine’s magic carpet ride from Disney’s classic Aladdin, the photo is real and the truth behind it is somewhat more sinister. Martin Le-May, a hobby photographer in East London, took these photos of a woodpecker and a baby weasel fighting for their lives over Hornchurch Country Park.

According to Le-May, he was walking in the park with his wife when they heard, and then saw, the fight unfold. When the bird flew right across them, they could see it had a small mammal on its back – and that’s when he snapped these pictures.

Weasels love to rob nests, but this one was probably after the woodpecker itself. In any case, he seems to have been foiled for now. As Le-May wrote, “The woodpecker left with its life. The weasel just disappeared into the long grass, hungry.

What at first might seem like a magical woodpecker ride…

…was actually a dirty and terrifying battle for survival!

After the woodpecker landed, they fought and then the weasel fled

Student’s Faucet Design Saves Water By Swirling It Into Beautiful Patterns

Student’s Faucet Design Saves Water By Swirling It Into Beautiful Patterns

Simin Qiu, a design student in London’s Royal College of Art, has come up with a luxurious-looking Swirl Faucet that will save water by turning it into a beautiful, elegant, swirling spiral.
Qiu’s design works by sending the water through a double turbine, which spirals as water moves through it, creating an elaborate and beautiful lattice of water streams. The turbine also limits the flow of water by 15%, meaning that you waste less when using it! 3 different nozzles let users choose which water-saving design they’d rather use.
The design, which also won an iF Design concept award in 2014, is operated with a touch button on top, which helps it retain its sleek and elegant look.

I Tell Surreal Stories Through My Photography

I Tell Surreal Stories Through My Photography

My name is Jovana Rikalo. I’m a fine art and portrait photographer, currently living in Serbia. I got into photography about 4 years ago by taking miscellaneous pictures of friends, nature and mostly myself in an attempt to capture memories and special moments, mostly for my personal needs.
I had no interest in choosing photography as my profession until autumn of 2012, when I finally realized how strongly I really feel about it. Photography has become my greatest love. Capturing emotions and milestones is now a big part of who I am, and the whole idea of perfectly freezing special moments & feelings pushes me to take risks, get creative and learn as much as I can about the art of photo editing.
When it comes to style & interests, I prefer the outdoors and eye-catching locations. I like to create unreal situations in the real world, and tell surreal stories with my camera. My mission is to create images that look unnatural, but feel real.
I sometimes manipulate my photographs a lot in Photoshop, but I always try to keep the photo-realistic look.
