The explosive conclusion to the Vagabonds trilogy!
After playing second fiddle in the all-girl rock band the Vagabonds, lead guitarist Kyle Summers decides to break out on her own and puts together a band that helps her shine as a solo act.
But the road is uphill and success seems elusive. She begins to question herself and her talent, wondering if she should sell out to win the adoration of her old fans or stubbornly follow her heart and continue to languish in relative obscurity.
On-again, off-again love interest CJ Slavin helps Kyle get her new band off the ground but refuses to commit to their relationship, once more leaving Kyle feeling alone, unloved, and unimportant, and those emotions lead her to do rash, irrevocable things on the road, things that could drive CJ away for good. Will they finally admit their feelings to one another and forsake all others or split for good, and will Kyle finally find the fame she’s been working her ass off for or will she leave it all behind, a broken woman?

1. Dream 2. Play some music 3. Write 4. Blow readers away 5. Repeat
Jade C. Jamison is a steamy romance author, heavy metal fangirl, wife and mom, coffee connoisseur, cat lover, and vegan foodie--not necessarily in that order. She loves life and believes we learn our wisest lessons when reading, especially fiction. Her heroines are fierce, her heroes all but broken, both seeking redemption together. Whether those books are set in a small Colorado town or big city, she strives to take her readers' breath away...one story at a time.
I am so sorry to see this trilogy end, I simply loved everything about it. From the darkness of the drug abuse, to the magic of its music and the sex appeal of its characters, this is a story with a bite, kick and a punch.
Told from Kyle Summers perspective as a narrative of her life, Kyle leads us deep into the world of rock and everything in between. Now going it alone, Kyle has to reinvent herself in order to bring her music alive. Not wanting to continue down the pop route the Vagabonds took, she is determined to make the world love her for her metal.
As ever, CJ is in and out of her life but with CJ not open to the idea of a steady relationship, you wonder just how long they can go on pretending they are not in a committed relationship. I loved CJ’s character but I did want him and Kyle to wake up and smell the coffee on more than one occasion. Talk about not seeing the elephant in the room, their non-relationship was beyond frustrating at times.
I did love Kyle's journey though from an innocent teenager to a strong and determined young woman who is fiercely protective of her music. With the added benefit of some spicy sexual encounters along the way, combined with a comical Vegas hiccup, her heart remains firmly with CJ but will he ever be ready to love her unconditionally?
So Kyle's story has been told but whilst it ended on a sweet note, I would have liked to have experienced the tour that Kyle headed out onto at the end of the story. Perhaps Kyle’s story has a Part 2 waiting to be played out?!!!

Thanks Jade C. Jamison, for my extra gray hairs and my fingernails that have been bitten to nubs. The Vagabonds Series is NOT your typical rocker romance. Nope, it started from the beginning, when Kyle sees her first guitar as a kid and took me all the way to my current nearly bald, nubby fingered state. It is more than a ride on a tour bus, the damn thing ran me over! It's more than sex, drugs, and rock n' roll. It's a story of first love, both physically and musically. It's a journey of love, loss, pain, joy, sorrow, and hope. It's a smorgasbord of relationships and emotions. Friends and foes. Lovers and leavers. But one thing that was consistent was the music. The lyrics might change depending on the emotional state of the writers. The type of music might progress from soft to hard or anything in-between. The band members might be interchangeable. But one love that will never leave her, is her music.
I'm a big music lover and I gravitate to books that focus on that industry. I totally dig all the details regarding the process of writing, recording, concerts, record sales and media events. I enjoy the band member power plays and the backstage drama. And if you throw in some sexy-rocker-sexy-time, I'm a guaranteed fan. I don't even require a backstage pass, I'm not ashamed of being called a groupie. If you rock my world, I'll keep coming back for more. So, I'll see you at the next gig, as soon as the author releases the concert schedule. I don't know what band will be playing, but I know it will be good.
Recieved for an honest review. I loved this series. I'm almost sad to say goodbye to Kyle and her side kicks. But THANKFULLY I got what I wanted. It was a long journey, painful in some ways, and making me giddy in others. Loved how real it was. Like I was standing next to Kyle as it all happened, watching her go from naïve teenager to a determined woman, still stubborn as shit, but that's her charm. The ending left me completely satisfied. Another great series.

I receive this book from the amazingly talented author for an honest review.
O.M.G. Hands down my favorite of the series. This book is everything you want and expect from Jade. There is turmoil, twists, sex, drama, and love!! The love is an Epic, soul shattering love that stands the test of time and situations for our two characters….Kyle and CJ.
This series has given me A LOT of twists and turns not to mention upset belly aches but this book beats them all hands down. I mean GAPS when Kyle………SPOILER…………………right…can you believe it? HAHA yeah so not gonna tell ya what Kyle does SEVERAL times to push CJ away because apparently the two of them don’t know what the word communication means!!!
This book we see our Kyle grown and mature in her music but her love life is still a HOT mess. She goes on tour with Jet and his band which throws her life into a tail spin of craziness. She has to deal with the fall out of the decisions she makes while wondering about CJ and her. She is dealing with the green eyed monster of jealousy from Liz’s rise to fame plus dealing with moving forward while leaving others behind.
This book our girl really sprouts and finds herself but also loses herself when it comes to CJ. The love that WE the readers see but they can’t see made me wanna throat punch them both SEVERAL times. I will say that there was a scene where I actually SWOONED over CJ like hard core. All I gotta say is when a drunk man walks miles to get to you…Sigh…..you better listen and listen up good!!!?
This book sets up soo nicely for the next installment of the Feverish series. All I gotta say is DIBS ON BRIAN!!!! Right Jade? Please? Just don’t tell Daddy Brad.
Where to start....you need to read the whole trilogy, in order, but I feel like this is the best of the bunch...and that's saying a whole lot, especially if you read my review for On the Road. There is so much emotion, so much life, so much growth. You can't even imagine how happy I am with the ending (though honestly, I want more....greedy and selfish, I can't help it. Ms. Jamison writes these characters so well, they just become so real, and so hard to let go!)
Love having Last Five Seconds worked into this one - it becomes a storyline you have to read to believe! I'm always happy to get a glimpse of Clay/Jet, but now I really want Brian's story too. Not saying that Clay/Jet (I'd call him CJ, but that would get confusing with another book boyfriend of mine that Jade wrote...who happens to be integral to this trilogy) has any competition, but I am very curious now, more so than I have been since I first encountered LFS in Bullet. I have a feeling when we get all of the guys' stories, I am going to end up with a new favorite fictional band. But, once again, I am digressing. I do adore the part they play in this book though, and fans of Last Five Seconds should definitely get a little fix here, if they haven't already.
Kyle, I just love her, and I really wasn't totally sure about that until this book. I liked her, but there were just times that I wasn't totally sure if I loved her. I guess my measure on that is if I feel like a female character could be a friend of mine. If they could be someone I could see myself hanging out with. Take another character of Ms. Jamison's, Nicki Sosebee - I knew within a chapter or two of the first book that she could be my bff. It definitely took longer to get Kyle to that point, but she definitely is now. There were so many times during this book particularly that I just wanted to call her over for girl's night and give her good girlfriend advice, ya know? Though that would have taken some of the fun, and a lot of the drama out of the book, so we will leave the writing where it belongs, with the extremely talented Jade C Jamison.
Pick up On the Run, then On the Road, and, of course, On the Rocks. And the rest of her catalog. You really can't go wrong.
I am sad to see this trilogy end with On The Rocks.
On The Rocks was I feel the best, and my favourite of the 3 installments.
From stars in their eyes, the sex, drugs and rock and roll culture, to present day, Kyle Summers has told us her story.
We were left on cliffhanger with the second installment, On The Rocks, and I was impatient to learn where Kyle was at in this installment.
From the first book, we have seen Kyle mature in her life, her career, her love life.
Now she is branching out on her own career wise, and we see her really come to the fore. Though her love life, and particularly her relationship with CJ is a hot mess. It had my stomach in knots as I was taken on a emotional rollercoaster. I just want them to be happy dammit!!
And CJ - might have swooned just a little in couple of places this book!
There were plenty of twists and turns in this book, but I knew that Ms Jamison would not let me down in the end.
Oooh and there were some great cameos with the boys from Last Five Seconds (Jet/Clay's band from the bullet series)
If you like your rock star books a little different, a little grittier than the norm, then the Vagabonds could be just the thing that you need.
I’ll admit now that I am sorry to be saying goodbye to this series, jumping on the bandwagon so to speak with Kyle and the rest of the band has been a far from ordinary ride. Of the series I would say that this has been my favourite book, it bore more of a meaning for me and carried more of a message. We have walked alongside Kyle as she has grown, succeeded, experienced and at times failed in all things rock and roll but above everything else, she has survived it all , she has lived through the highs and lows and after the cliff-hanger at the end of book two, this is her chance to round her story off, in style. Now, finally she is Kyle, playing life to the beat of her own drum, doing what she wants and needs to make her career the one that she has been aiming for all along…hers I loved the fact that she stood tall and strong and after everything she had been through, she was her own woman. What I didn’t like was the fact that her and CJ still hadn’t sorted out what the heck was going on, they really made me mad at times in as much as I wanted them to be happy, to have the happy ever after and it seemed as if they weren’t even on the same page…I just wanted to scream at them to get on with it please, once and for all!!! CJ was the man for her but neither of them seemed to be able to see the wood for the trees when it came to the blatantly obvious – their relationship no matter how hit and miss it was, it was most definitely a relationship! I loved the fact that some of the previous characters appeared in the book especially the guys from the Last Five Seconds but what made the book for me was the fact that Kyle was prepared to fight for her what she held dearest and for her music to be taken seriously, no longer the plastic pop music that of the past, now it was all her. The book had all the drama I could have possible hoped for and then some but I was grateful for the way that the author wrapped it up, bringing all the pieces together and giving me a chance to take a deep breath and smile.
I received this book for an honest review. Reviewer for 2 girls who love book..
So this is the last book I the series from Jade. (sad face). So please do not read this book as a stand alone, as you would get terribly lost and completely not understand the series at all. I read this book series back to back as I have read other books by Jade (the bullet series). But not this one. I dunno how Jade does this but she make me love rock stars and these types of books even more. Jades writing styles in each book make you seem you are right inside the book. Living the lives of each person. Like you are there inner ghosts. Or just a by stander in there lives. Its utterly amazing. They are so over powering it leaves you begging and wanting more. So onto the review.
Like I said this is the last book in the series. And like everyone else this is the best book by far. This this was honestly Jades hidden agenda.. You sneaky lady.hahaha.
So if you gave read book 1 and 2 you will familiar with who is who etc. This book is so hard-core rock and roll, and everything that is rock and roll. Sex, drugs, music, the stage, the highs and lows.. But most of all it takes you on the inner rollercoaster of your dreams.
So we follow.kyle.. From stage one till now. She a feisty, headstrong, bull-headed.. Woman who gives no bull and takes no s&%£t. She gets what she wants.. My type of gal.. But there is chaos on her life. And this leads to the sexy oh so sexy cj.
Whilst reading this series and this book you just want to lock them away together and batter there heads in.. You read in annoyance of wanting them to stop being childish end these silly games and bloody choice. Gah..
Like I said I have loved all of jades books from day one and this dis not disappointed one bit. If you love rockers and anything by jade then you would love this...
Ps there is a surprise too. But you must read it..
Jade you totally rock.. But I'm sad to say goodbye.. Love this books and series.. Totally deserve the 5 rocking starts.. Xxx
I think this is my favorite book of the series. In the first book we get a teenage Kyle and all the drama of growing up too fast and wanting to reach for the stars (with a very naïve outlook). In the second book, we get Kyle and her bandmates on their first train wreck of a tour, dealing with pervy men and unscrupulous management who are only looking out for their own wants and needs. By the time we get to On the Rocks, Kyle is having to re-evaluate her whole life and career and basically start from scratch. Clawing your way back up to the top of the pile is never easy when it seems like everyone wants to see you fall down and there is not many people left in your corner to help anymore. But Kyle is not a quitter, far from it and it is only when she sets out to start a new band and attempts to leave all the haters behind, does she find peace in her life again. CJ has been off and on in her life, both as mentor and BF, but it broke my heart the way he made her feel and their unstable relationship was sad to watch as Kyle fought for discovery and to grow up. What I really loved about this book was the message and how no matter how much a person might mess up their life and how far they fall, the human spirit is stronger than we realize and watching this young woman's journey from her teenage angry self to the successful rockstar she becomes, was exhilarating and inspiring to watch. This book features some "guest stars" from Jamison's Bullet series and plenty of heavy metal action for those music lovers out there...not to mention a trip to Vegas where you know...what happens in Vegas... I especially loved how she ended the book...the last chapters and wrap up of everyone's stories was perfect and humorous (as there is always a lot of humor in between the drama in her books) and I felt satisfied that all ended as it should have. I received a free copy of this book for an honest review.
***** 5 ***** "awesome heavy metal rocking and loving" stars
AMAZING PHENOMENAL ADDICTIVE - I feel like a broken record when I read/review Jade's rocker books but I can't help it , she is on point and so very real. As Kyle goes off to form a new band with her as the lead she finds help from some shocking people and I really enjoyed the way her new band was headed. Nothing comes easy for Kyle but damn this chick does not give up and she fights for what she wants and although this book had me on the edge of my seat when it came to her love life I was a fan til the end and so thrilled with the ending. I also loved the epilogue !! A different approach and a much appreciated one at that. I loved the LFS connection in this part of the story , it was great to hear about Clay again and of course Brian's piece of the story made for some real fun and emotional stuff. He was a great guy and it saddened me to a point yet the honesty with Brian and Kyle made it all all right. CJ and Kyle had some major ups and downs here but they may finally , FINALLY admit to each other how they feel !! Will that be a good thing or not ?? You need to read to find out !! As Kyle struggles to get her band and her name where she wants it you fall in love with her desire and there was no way she was going to fail if I had any say in it. As always with a Jade book you get so much more than meets the eye. Yes we get the gritty touring , the sex drugs and rock n roll but we also get the love story and the coming of age , everyone seems to find themselves good or bad and there is always someone you can connect with or relate to. This was the perfect ending to the series and I am so glad I was able to read about The Vagabonds and meet Kyle. She is one bada$$ b...h !!
No!!! I don’t want this to be over… What an amazing experience it is reading the Vagabonds series. Talk about one hell of a roller coaster ride. One I plan on riding again and again. You know when you read a book and just know it will be one you will re-read at least once, well this series definitely goes on that list. I honestly don’t think I can properly put into words how much I loved all three of these books. The Vagabonds series is Kyle Summers recounting her journey to fame. On the Rocks picks up right where On the Road ended with Kyle standing her ground and walking away. Now, Kyle is starting from scratch, writing what she wants-what she needs, the music she feels in her heart and soul. She is headstrong and fights for what she wants. It’s a difficult journey full of pitfalls and rewards, personal lows and soaring highs, and through it all Kyle holds on tightly to her music, her first true love. For all you fans of the Bullet series – how amazing was it to have her open for Last Five Seconds! (Jet *swoon*) Speaking of love…CJ is still in and out of her life and I just wanted to scream at them to open their eyes and see what they had! There are so many parts I want to elaborate on and go into specifics on what it did to me, how it tore me up or made me want to scream and cheer but I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. What I can say is I absolutely loved how Kyle’s story wrapped up. Hell, I went back and re-read from the phone call on because it was everything I wanted and so much more. This is a must one-click! You will not be disappointed. It really, really is that amazing. Jade C Jamison, the Queen of Rock, has outdone herself. \m/
Title: ON THE ROCKS Series: Vagabonds # 3 Category /Genre: Contemporary Romance Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content Received from: Jade C. Jamison (beta reading) Grammar/editing: ungraded – book received as an unedited ARC / errors excused
This is the third book in the Vagabonds trilogy. They do need to be read in order.
Kyle Summers is the Queen of Metal Rock in this series. She is no little summer shower, she is a category 5 hurricane ready to take the music industry by storm. She is one Bad Ass Bitch with a serious talent and passion for the metal she plays. Sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll is only the beginning of the life she is living…
I am heartbroken to come to the end of this amazing ride. It was full of surprises that made me cry and cheer. I loved the raw emotions that Kyle bore and learned to tame. She is a spit-fire determined to take the one life she has and make it sing her tune!
This was my favorite book in the series. I could not put it down and it was well worth the missed sleep.
If you’re wondering if you should read this series… if you’re think that because they started as teenagers it’s meant for teeny-boppers…. If you’ve never read a book from Jade C. Jamison before…but you love romance and or rock music… I’m telling you know that you won’t be disappointed. Start with this series and then go gobble up the rest of her books. Her books are my drug of choice and I invite you to party with us!!
Absolutely the best of the Vagabonds series, and I’m sad to see it come to an end, but what an amazing rock and roll ride Jade took us on. True to form, it was all about sex, drugs, and the music that captures your heart and soul.
Kyle has made the hard decision to split from the Vagabonds, and venture into metal music as a solo artist. She’s a super headstrong woman, who no doubt will fight tooth and nail to get what she wants out of life, love, and her career. She’s been creating her image and music since she was a kid, and to see what she’s done with it is like coming full circle.
CJ is back, being his wishy washy self, yet I can’t help but have a bit of a crush on him and his sexy ways. They drive each other completely crazy; yet keep coming back for more, but for how long? I was literally yelling at my kindle, wanting them to stop playing games and just be together for crimony sake, but what fun would it be to not include the drama and chaos they bring to the table.
For fans of the Bullet series, there just may be a super awesome surprise for you in this one too! I’ve always said Jade is my favorite rock and roll chick, and she proved that once again.
First off, I am going to agree with everyone else when I say this isn't your typical rock star romance. This is the first book I have ever read from this author. I really enjoyed this book. As a reader you get to see the side of a rock star that you don't normally see. By saying that, I mean being a star isn't all about drugs, sex and the lights and glory.
Kyle Summers loved music and her guitar at a young age. She followed her dream of being a part of a band. But the dream she had came to an end. She wanted something for herself, something to call her own. Kyle started her own band. Through much difficulty she started to become the star she wanted to be with the help from some very close friends and her new band members.
One of her closest friends is CJ. But he isn't just a close friend to her. She is in love with him and both of them are to scared to admit it. Or are they? CJ is definitely swoon worthy. After some time apart, they both realize that being togethor is where they both want to be.
This is the story of Kyle Summers and how she became the person she wanted to be, a rock star...
With the break up of The Vagabonds, Kyle Summers is determined to make it on her own and make it big with her own music. It is a difficult journey back to the top as she is pretty much starting from the beginning again. While she is determined not to fall into the same fame traps from when she was in The Vagabonds, there are a whole new set to fall into.
Matters of the heart still trouble her as she still only wants CJ. New relationships and jealousies present new challenges as she attempts to move forward with her life but her heart is still with CJ.
The frustration and passion she feels for her music and her career comes out strongly throughout, with the story being told from her point of view. You find yourself wanting Kyle to find success with her music and matters of the heart because she has and the fact that she works so hard for what she wants. Jade C. Jamison has done it again and written an awesome series that will stay with you long after you have finished it.
And here we are at the end!! Oh and what a way to end a series!! Jade never disappoints!!
Kyle has developed from a stubborn teenager to an even more stubborn adult. However, she has realized that she needs to listen to other people regarding her career. Lots of crazy stuff happens on that way to that realization.
If you are already a fan of Jade and her previous work then this book will be of special intrigue. A band from a previous book makes an appearance along with some interactions between the band members and Kyle. Was totally blown away by this little crossover!!
Totally in love with this series! Kyle is awesome and CJ has been added to the ever growing list of book boyfriends.
This is the final installment of the Vagabonds and what I love about Jades book is that they are predictable you might be able to see a piece coming but you don't know the entire thing. We have watch Kyle grow up and become a young women and an even better musician even if she has trouble keeping her band together. This book is full of surprises. Kyle is still learning who she is and what she's about and trying to figure out if "selling out" is the same and growing and trying new things. We get to see a couple of old friends in this book which is awesome and we get to come back to home town whoop whoop!! If you haven't started reading the Vagabonds because you think it's a teeny bobber book you couldn't be more wrong!!
I have so enjoyed and loved this series!! When I first started I was intrigued by the fact it was a young starting out female band. Not your typical rocker story. I had no idea what I was getting into, what a ride. Watching Kyle grow from the somewhat innocent girl to the young lady living up the sex, drugs and rock n roll. The final book in the series was a perfect wrap up! We already watched Kyle struggle through growing up, living and learning, now we see her come into her own. Kyle is just awesome! Holy crap living her life fighting her true feelings, only to find out she had been a fool all along! I hoped and wished for this ending and you gave me everything I wanted!!!
This series has got better as it's gone along. I was looking forward to finding out if Kyle made the big time and what happened between her and CJ. I also wanted to find out if Barbie got what she deserved! Not a nice girl.
We pick up where Kyle is trying to form her own band. The trials and tribulations of picking band members and finding a manager and agent, as well as getting a label to sign her on! All while trying to not be in love with CJ. Not easy. Things go along different paths and get confused. But eventually things get to where they're supposed to be.
I couldn't put this story down. I love the 'catch up' with all the characters in the epilogue.
On the Rocks is the last book in the Vagabonds Series and I have to say I really enjoyed this Rocker Chick series.
Kyle really gets into some deep stuff as a rocker chick. And, you will still see drug, alcohol abuse and a lot of sex. There is an HEA at the end and it ended the way that I would have wanted it to. There were a lot of changes with the band and with the girls from the beginning to the end. And, a LOT of issues dealt with. But, Kyle does grow up. Well, all the girls grow up and some move away from the music industry. Again, I can’t say more. No spoilers here.
I was gifted with a copy of this book for an honest review. I give On The Rocks 5 stars.
*****4.5 Stars***** I am so glad we got to see the conclusion of Kyles crazy amazing ride in music. I've said it before but I love the feel of the way this was written. It just forces you to look at it like a movie. I was sad to see the credits roll. The writing, the story, the characters. It all works. I think the only thing that got me was the almost whining about CJ. ONLY because she is a tough as nails b¡+€# who has never let anything get to her. I didn't like the feeling of sadness whenever she talked about CJ..... Other than that it was amazing as usual. Thanks for another great one Jade!
Okay, I will be the first to admit that I am more than a LOT sad that this is the FINAL book in the Vagabonds series! I will BOW DOWN to the QUEEN of ROCK! Jade C. Jamison has an AH-MAZING way to writing her stories. This is ready for a movie script!! I really felt that Kyle was a real person, I really seen this play out in my head, I really felt like this was a “based on real life” story. I am in absolute awe of Jade’s stories. Someone call Hollywood because the NEXT BEST MOVIE needs to be this series!
Omg the Queen of Rock truly outdid herself with this book. Just when I thought I couldn't love the series anymore, she goes and rocks my world with the third installment. Aside from being totally invested in the characters, the story line is freakin unbelievably awesome! If your waiting to see the outcome of The Vegabonds series then you better get on it. I just hope that one day we might get another glimpse into this series again. One of my favorite rock books ever! 5/5 stars!
A great conclusion to a rocking series! Jade C. Jamison did a fantastic job. I was absorbed in Kyle Summer's story from book 1, page 1. On the Rocks finishes Kyle's story. It shows how she's grown as an artist, a person, and learned to trust her instincts and follow the music. Kyle Summer's the name and it's her time to shine!!!!!!!!
*An ARC was provided in exchange of an honest review*
Great read and conclusion to this trilogy! I found it very relatable and it reminded me that even when things seems like they will never get better, things can, you just have to not give up. Loved!
I was sorry to see this series end. It kept getting better and better. The characters were so well developed that I was living the story with them. I am so looking forward to reading more by Jade Jamison. Pick up this series today and start reading. You won't regret it.
This was by far my favorite book of the Trilogy. If you've been waiting to read these books don't wait any longer! Seriously, start reading On The Run now! You will definitely not be disappointed.
Kick-ass series! Overview: Crazy thing is, I was waiting on plot twists or rapid turns. Honestly, it read more like a journal to me. One that was wrote in for a couple of years and put down for a couple. When it was picked pack up, it was just a let you know, "Hey, I'm still alive and rockin', rollin', drugin', and lovin'", then put down for five years or so. Then back in your face to say yep, I'm still at it.... Oh, btw this is how it all turned out. That is if you're still interested. But oh, so sweet anyway!! Absofuckingly love it!
