⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️! The Knight, book 2 of 2. A fight over a heirloom uncovers an impossible & forbidden love from long ago!

Books in The Stolen duet should be read in order:
Book 1: The Bandit
Book 2: The Knight

In The Bandit, book 1 nineteen-year-old unemployed single mother Mian Ross, Sprite. awoke a beast from her past while trying to feed her son. Mob boss Angeles Knight, Angel’s did not take kindly to a family heirloom being stolen so he took Mian and her son hostage. The story followed them in the aftermath, including flashbacks of a forbidden long ago love…

The Knight, book 2 picks up a year later, detailing their time apart and providing the final pieces to the puzzle of their past. But it also opens up new doors and leaving them open for another book in their saga.

Seven words to describe Angeles Knight, Angel: calculated, vengeful, aloof, detached, private, hard-headed and ruthless.

Seven words to describe Mian Ross, Sprite: broken, loyal, naïve, protective, meek, strong and lonely.

The Knight, told from dual POVs, offers a forbidden romance, sex, kink, secrets, violence, mystery, disappointments and betrayals. But while book 2 provides answers to their history I was left wondering if there will be a book 3. At any rate, I am rooting for their HEA.

Much like the first book in the series, 'The Knight' continues to provide plenty of emotional turmoil and action. While 'The Bandit' draws you into the mysterious workings of Angel's crime family and leaves you with plenty to ponder, 'The Knight' is full of revelations -- about both the criminal organization and the personal lives of the characters.

When the extent of Angel's duplicity is revealed, Mian must face the fact that she never really knew the man that she thought she loved at all. Even I was surprised by the lengths that he had gone to and just how deceptive he had been. Suddenly, I had to look at all of his subsequent actions through a new lens. No longer did he even have the slightest claim to being a victim.

While there was a tremendous shift in the overall "feel" of the book that followed some of these shocking revelations, it still proved to be a captivating read. It was every bit as sexy as the first book, with plenty of tension between characters. Despite his horrible actions, Mian couldn't completely freeze Angel out.

Thankfully, Mian actually makes Angel pay for his crimes. There is nothing that I hate more than when a heroine forgives the hero after he does something atrocious with little more than an insincere apology. The need to make the hero suffer a little for his crimes is something that this author understands well. While Angel doesn't come off as weak or sappy, he definitely has to pay for his crimes and work hard to try and win Mian over again.

My only major complaint about this book is that, like the first book, the editing was horrible. This book is littered with simple grammatical mistakes that will drive many readers nuts. These errors were frequent and should have been caught easily, because they were so "basic". Sometimes there were multiple errors on a single page. I frequently found myself having to stop and re-read a sentence, making the corrections in my mind for what should have been written. It wasn't so bad that you couldn't figure out what the author meant to say, but it disrupted the flow of the story in a big way. This was a huge draw back and did take away from the reading experience.

That being said, the story itself was still pretty good. It had just enough mystery to keep me wondering about what would be around the next corner. Meanwhile, it was very erotic and even emotional at times.

If there is an audiobook version available, that might be a better way to experience this story. A lot of times the narrator will "fix" many of these editing errors as they read the story, in my experience. Otherwise, I'd only recommend this series to individuals that have a great deal of patience when it comes to these types of errors.

Picking up pretty much where The Bandit left off, THE KNIGHT was the thrilling conclusion to Angel and Mian's story. Or was it? Because my thoughts and emotions were all over the place while reading this, I'm finding it a little difficult to give a structured review. So here's a list of my thoughts, both positive and negative, in no particular order, and I wish you luck in understanding my meaning in the end.

♞ Mian was still a spoiled brat. She still lacked logic, reasoning and maturity, but somehow earned some of my respect. Go figure. I like people who don't know how to stay down when they get knocked down and she was definitely one of those people. I especially liked the way that Angel saw her, which was so different than the way I did.
♞ Angel was still my boo. I didn't like how soft he was when it came to Mian because in my opinion she didn't deserve so much of his mercy, but I guess I can't dictate how he expressed his love for her.
♞ I'm not sure if it's just my copy, but it felt like I was missing out on entire scenes. Characters were introduced and events occurred that didn't completely make sense and I got kind of lost. It was entertaining but I had a few "huh?" moments.
♞ Huge chunks of time passed with no real insight on what happened during that time. I'm talking like 3 years and then another year. I get the story has to end somewhere, and maybe I'm the only one who feels this way, but the end didn't really feel like an ending. I felt that the characters, especially Angel, deserved more of a conclusion to his story. So much happened in this duet and I feel let down that the end was rushed and glossed over. I even understand that there's room for a spin-off or something but I don't think Angel got the happy ending I was hoping for and there were still so many unanswered questions.

Or... maybe I'm just selfish and wanted more time with the amazing character I fell in love with. See you later, Angel, my sweet! Yes, I'm a little obsessed with him and my fingers and toes are crossed hoping I'll see him again!!!

3* hate u, love u STARS! *maybe spoiler-ish*

Finally the conclusion of Mian Ross and Angel Knight's story! I've been waiting for this but unfortunately the story didn't deliver my expectations. There was a hit and miss within this couple's journey - not to mentioned I'm quickly bored from the start.

description

As for Mian, she changed from bad-ass mom to be annoyed-AF girl. I kinda liked her in The Bandit with her strong and determined attitude to save both herself and the baby. After the cliffy when she stabbed Angel (not to death), finally Mian managed to escape with some complications. Either she's brave or stupid, Mian is a wanted person because someone wants her dead.

After Angel recovered, he enraged by Mian's disappearance and sent his two goons-best friends to pick her up. It didn't take long to found her. Angel promised Mian that he will protect her and the baby even against the Knighthood code.

Of course, there's a lot of sex happened between Mian and Angel. But it means nothing to me because everything was too rushed; even their foreplay. Mian easily insta-wet and Angel always insta-horny with her. I want Angel from the Bandit *frowny face* :(

The Knight family history somehow bored. Too much people. However, there are several people in this group who didn't want Angel to be the head. Well, it's very predictable. Half of the book didn't interest me until the real action happened.

description

Apparently, no one is to be trusted. So much secrets and lies with Angel and surprisingly Mian's father. Even the story didn't WOW me enough, but the ending was okay and saved the book. Their love story was kinda sad with how both are ruined by the rules since they were young. Anyway, I really enjoyed how Angel determined to get back with Mian after what happened. He became a different person; softer but still persistent. They're moving on with new life as a happy couple and I liked it.

**UPDATE: I just lowered the rating from 3 to 2 stars because when I went to write the review, I found so much wrong with it that I just couldn't help myself.**

Read the unfiltered and spoiler filled review @Readin' Under Street-Lamps. It's a lot more descriptive about the plot and the character arcs, so read it before accusing me of hating on a book without explaining why I hated on it.

This review is spoiler free.

I'm disappointed! Didn't think I'd say this after Bandit, but I am so damn disappointed.

Was it just me or did the characters do a complete 180 in this book? Mian goes from badass smart chick to an intolerable moronic tantrum throwing idiot, and Angel goes from a psychopath to a weak love-bird. What?!

And can someone please take the time to explain the plot to me?! WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK WAS GOING ON! Was there scenes that the author completely missed, or was the book so weird that she divulged every detail, only I wasn't smart enough to catch it?

Also the writing- how hard was Reid squeezing her pen when she wrote this? No clear cut central conflict. No proper character development. Nothing remotely planned out with the plot. I don't think I can read her anymore. After being disappointed by the last two books in the Broken Love series, I almost dropped her. But then I read Bandit, and felt it as a redeeming book. And then she had to go fuck it up with Knight.

If you loved this book, and understood it in the least, please please DM me, because I can't with this. And because I would love to talk about it. *shakes head*

I am blown away. Miss Reid delivers a fantastic conclusion for Stolen Duet. I remember fondly I like Bandit so much. It took me year to finally get my hand on The Knight.

Angel and Mian's story is full with twist and drama. So many lies, covers up and betrayal. I am loving every moment of it. Their chemistry is explosive. I love Angel. He is smart hero. And Mian is his equal. I do not want to reveal the plot in my review.

I only want to highlight how talented Miss Reid building her world and set her characters to play like a game of chess. The Knight contains more history of the Angel/ Bandit exclusive club. Some readers might find it boring, but I find it necessary to understand the story.

What a wonderful story.

Squeee!!! The long wait is over and for heaven's sake that was 6 months of waiting yet seriously my patience paid off. Mian and Angel's twisted fairy tale has come to an end and I love every second of it. Seriously, I've been on a hype the moment this book hit my reader. With that ending in The Bandit and all the scenes that had consumed me up until now, my only desire was to get my hands on this book. I needed answers and I wanted those feels only B.B Reid can do. So devour I did with The Knight, hell bent on seeking answers I've been questioning since the first book, looking forward to yet again drooling over Lucas and Z and then of course, my most anticipated one, Mian and Angel's fucked up of a journey to HEA.

The book started where The Bandit left off. That ending left me with a book hangover so I was so excited to know what's bound to happen. Again, the author did not disappoint. I love the flow and pacing of the story. The suspense and thrill kept me on the edge. My adrenaline was rushing, my mind kept on racing and questioning still, my heart was thumping anxious to the next scene. Gawd! I was so consumed and lost in this book. I was so hooked I cannot put it down. The writing really had me. I am a goner over Mian and Ross relationship. I love the running and chasing, the fighting and fucking that is going on because with that, B.B Reid just portrayed Mian and Angel so well. Their twisted way of showing how they feel, delivering their emotions through it. It was just gritty, dirty, twisted yet it showed so much emotion. It showed what kind of relationship they have and I was pulled right into it. I was hooked into their bubble and got lost in the story. The betrayal, lies and revelations fed my curiosity. It fueled me even more to keep on turning the pages. I might have been frustrated over Mian at times but I cannot deny myself that I understand where she's coming from. Angel on the other hand, no.. I have nothing else to say except I love this man to bits of pieces. I love his twisted-alpha ways and to tell you honestly, I wanna be his Mian. The all consuming feels he had for her and their sexual chemistry were just to die for. Call me crazy but man, it's Angel Knight and when you get to read this book and the first one, you will understand me. Angel Knight is just WOW!

Overall, I love this book. B.B Reid's writing is on point, her characters are solid. No matter how I've been frustrated at times about their portrayal because I feel like I needed more for their growth, it's undeniably one of the reasons why I was rooting for the book until the end. It's their imperfections which I later viewed as perfecfion that made me love this book even more. That and the authors writing style that really affects me and made me so crazy over this story. Pages after pages evoked different emotions in me. It was addicting and mind boggling, maddening yet I cannot help myself not to fall. Gahd! It was just one hell of a crazy ride!

Great job Bebe! Now, with that ending...I have nothing else to say except bring us Z!

description
description

Darn it....
The Bandit was so amazing...
But the only thing The Knight gave me was disappointment.

Mian hit my nerves a lot. She was immature and bratty, and I wished she had an 'off' switch. The steamy moments were hot, but some of the scenes felt unnecessary. It was like they were just fillers to make the book longer.

I'm also not a big fan of the direction of the storyline. Maybe I'm in the minority, but this could have been better for me.

Okay, so I read this book back in April and was conflicted if I liked it or hated it. So now, two months later, I can finally decide...I did not enjoy this duet. Now, I love B.B. Reid, and her work is brilliant! She's the queen of dark romance. But this one was not for me.

description

I will not go into what I disliked about this book; I think that will spoil quite a bit for those who want to read this duet!

But what I can say is, if you're looking for something dark with sexy, OTT alpha males, you might want to pick this up!

What makes a good book? Is it the characters we draw emotional connections from? How about the super villains being so foul you hate them, you want to string each and every last one up by their short hairs and disembowel them.

Kinda the way I feel about Angel but I’m digressing. Maybe it's the chemistry, the hotter than sin sexual buildups. You know where the old chug is banging around your chest because you're getting super turned on and you feel those butterflies swirling around in the pit of your stomach?

Mmmmmm the way I was doing with Z every time I’d read one of his scenes. Ooooooo the man is fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine! Then there’s the tying of all the loose ends, which B.B. Reid did masterfully. I loved The Knight (Stolen Duet #2) every single part…..except Angel.
description
He wins my douchebag award, but hey I don’t have to like him, root or even cheer for the antihero. It's the rest of the story that was the full blown winner. Maybe me hating him is why this is getting the bonafide five star seal of approval! Need I say more, happy reading, enjoy!

I just had the perfect sentence to start and my computer didn't want to write it and now that it can type again, I forgot..

I liked Angel an Mian their though but worthwhile Journey!
They both didn't have it easy from the start, or perhaps Angel kind of did? But enough about that, this was an interesting and quite unique story. At least to me it was.
There was one thing I kind of hated but the people who know me know exactly what it is Angel doesn't make it easy for Mian, but Mian doesn't for Angel also.
Maybe I'm too easy but I just would've accepted everything Angel said and did, Mian was a bit tougher than I would've been. I'm just an easy to get on board girl.

As in the previous one I absolutly loved Z and while reading this one I was almost sure we didn't get their books, but then it all went great!! No no no don't get me wrong the whole Z thingy in the end isn't great but it meant that he is getting a book!! If that wasn't a sure thing, it became a sure thing when Queen BB said it herself!!

A good conclusion to the Stolen duet, but I will admit that all this constant love/hate thing gave me a bit of a whiplash. But otherwise it was good.
We are still left with questions about other characters...so I need answers.

Well…for me, the book was AMAZING.
Amazing written, it has an amazing and unique story, adrenaline, suspense, joy, happiness, hate, intrigue, secrets, power, fight for power, life and freedom. After that ending in The Bandit…I couldn’t get fast enough my hands on this one. All my plans and my expectations were blown away, in a very good way.
This two books certainly entered in my favorite shelve.

I don’t know how to start and how to end, without revealing something important and good from the book.
Because everything in the book is a key to a secret or something.
I think it was engaging as the first one, very well written, hot but…the ending was a little confusing to me. The book starts right where the first one ended. This book had so many turns and twists. If in The Bandit I could anticipate something…in this book I was completely in the air. I couldn’t think, I couldn’t eat, I couldn’t sleep, I couldn’t put it down. You know that feeling when you definitely breathe the book?! This one is just like that. I didn’t need anything, I just needed this book.
Main, is so much powerful, mature and stronger,

More determined to win her freedom, to escape from Angel, and so much, very much stubborn. Sometimes, I wanted so much to punch her, to crack her head in two and shove there some brain or mind…
But Angel is so much more determined now than ever to win her back, to win her love, her trust and makes everything to win.
And I do mean EVERYTHING!

What do you want more than EVERYTHING woman? Damn woman, you are blind???

Those two knuckleheads Lucas and Z were…hell. Damn that sexual tension. Can’t wait to read their story. I slightly think that The Bandit was a little hotter than this one, just because of those two.
Amazing GIF - Find & Share on GIPHY
In the end, the book was …(I know I’m repeating myself, but can’t help)…
AMAZING!!!

The perfect conclusion to a twisted fairytale

The knight is a highly anticipated follow up to The Bandit by B.B. Reid and It did not disappoint! Where the Bandit ended I was scared to see where this story would go and man, what a wild ride it was.

Angel, how ironic that is his name because to many he could be portrait as the devil, but when it comes to Mian I saw him as an Angel.

Mian is one fierce lady who you wouldn't want to mess with.

I don't want to give anything away, but I will say this is an action packed, tragic, beautiful, twisted, love story and I loved every minute of it, from the characters to the story line.

B.B Reid has SLAYED me!!!!! The things that this duet made me feel is unbelievable. Angel and Mian had an epic and explosive conclusion. It was perfect from start to finish.

You can totally tell Mian has loosened up a bit when it comes to Angel but she still has her wits about her and she will stop at nothing to protect her baby. Even though she wishes she could trust Angel she need to be smart.

Angel is just trying to keep a hold on the woman he's wanted ever since he set eyes on her. But things keep getting in his way forcing him to lie, steal and kill to keel the only thing he's ever wanted. Angel is much softer in this book, but don't worry we still get moments with the Angel we love to hate.

Z and Anna is the only thing keeping me alive right now!!! I'm just waiting dying to read their story. Anna is so sweet and I loved how protective she was of Mian. Plus there is a major age difference between these two which I am absolutely dying for!!!!

So if your looking for a dickhead hero, a stubborn heroine, loveable secondary characters and the cutest little baby look no further this duet is for you. With secrets and action and the swipe of every page you will for sure be entertained!!!

Mian was so obnoxious. She didn't even seem like the same character from The Bandit. Her immaturity and inability to think things through drove me nuts. Above all I hated it that she constantly lied to herself about her feelings for Angel. I couldn't understand how her father was a complete douche and she forgave him for everything. Angel does stuff wrong and he's the enemy.

Angel was much nicer in this, and all Mian did was hate him. In The Bandit, I really felt the love hate pull between them. In this it just seemed like hate on Mian's part. I didn't want them to be together. What Angel did to her was unforgivable, and she was too much of a bitch.

The only redeeming thing about this book was Angel's actions at the end. I hated Mian even more from her response. It still didn't feel like she really loved him and her bitchiness ensued.

The Knight family saga was overly dramatic yet not very exciting. I couldn't keep his family members straight since their names started with A. I never got invested in the family drama. I think I would have liked this better if Angel had been a regular criminal without all of the ridiculous family stipulations.

4.5 Fantastic Stars!

This follow up to The Bandit did not disappoint! The Knight is deep and gritty and forceful. Angel is alpha to the max, makes no excuses for his choices and gets what he wants. Mian is head strong and will sacrifice anything for her so, Caylen. She made a stupid choice at the end of The Bandit, but it’s not one that Angel cannot understand. He knows the demons that are inside her; if anyone gets her-it’s Angel.

“I loved him because he’s my father. I never had a choice. I’ve loved you since I was twelve. That was my choice. You were a choice.” And a bad one.

Mian’s actions serve to escalate things that were already percolating. Lucas and Z know that there’s more to the story than Angel is telling them and Mian knows Angel will be back to claim her. He just found out that Mian is tied to him legally and things are starting to fall into place. If only Mian would stop putting up roadblocks.

“We can never be, Angel. There’s too much bad history between us.”

Unfortunately, Angel’s family is now involved and out to make trouble. There are so many characters and so much going on behind the scenes in this series. Don’t expect to cook supper while reading this book or think you can get in a few chapters while watching one of your shows. Nope, not going to happen. It’s complex and if you don’t absorb all that is going on around you, you will miss to many things.

“Believe me, Mian. I know he’s not my son. I know it every second of the day. I know it every time I look at him, he’s not mine. “He took a deep breath and closed his eyes tight. “But he should have been.”

Now what about Anna and Lucas? I want, I need those two to find a way to be together. Her age won’t always be an obstacle. Can this bad boy be tamed by love? Z has lots of secrets and while Angel has his hands full with Mian, Z has something going on-I’m not sure what but I have to admit I am slightly in love with this character.

Lucas tossed her over his shoulder and stormed from the office. We all listened as she spewed curses and threats until a door slammed, cutting off her screams.

So what’s going to happen? Will there be HEA’s for everyone or will a few hearts be broken? Guess you’ll have to read the story to find out-but I’ll tell you this-BB Reid never takes the easy way-she’s not afraid to strap us in our seats and then let us free fall!

The Knight is the perfect conclusion to the Stolen Duet.
I can't wait to read Z's book. I would love to have a book for Lucas as well, he was my favorite!!

*2.5 Stars!*

This was not as thrilling as the first installment, but I'm curious to know about what's going to happen with our secondary characters. 👀🔎

⭐⭐⭐⭐ sinful stars!

This duet broke every taboo record known to taboos. There were times where I questioned the author's sanity to come up with such fucked up peolpe.
I wanted so bad to have a cup of coffee with her and see how she could come up with these characters.

Main (Mayn) was not your kinda sassy girl, she was ferocious, venomous and so thirsty for blood it scared me.

Angel, I still don't get why the author chose such a sweet name for someone like Angel Knight. He was the definition of evil.
I'm a sucker for assholes and Alpha heroes but this man was way too much.

This should've been a one star read because seriously who would enjoy such insanity. But because I am a pervert, I had to give this duet 4 stars and between us I did enjoy most of it.

Of course looking forward to Z and Lucas stories, those assholes grew on me.

4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐meno 🌠. Il primo libro mi è piaciuto di più. Angel è quasi diventato uno zerbino rispetto al libro precedente...

WOWWWWWWW!

I'm speechless. Finally, after probably what felt like the longest wait ever, Bebe releases the epic conclusion to the Stolen Duet and she absolutely blows it out of the park. There are no words. Like my jaw was literally hanging wide open the entire time. Just when I think it couldn't get any better, BAM! Plot twist and I just couldn't deal. This is the definition of an edge of your seat, nail biting, toe curling story. It'll keep you wondering and surprise the shit out of you.

The Knight is part 2 of a duet and it's essential to read book one, The Bandit, as it ends on a cliffhanger and this is the continuation. And besides, you just won't understand shit if you try to read it from here. Other than that, the execution was fucking brilliant, the story line was perfect and the writing in this book was beautiful. Bebe took an asshole of epic proportions and turned him into some we looooove to hate. Someone that consumes our every thought, our every emotion. If there's anything Bebe is good at it's somehow making us love the assholes she creates. It's a talent I tell you.

There's not really much I can say because even the tiniest spoiler will ruin the book for you. But I can guarantee that the sex in this book is sizzling and it will drive you absolutely insane with need. Somehow Angel becomes hotter, dirtier, nastier and somehow, I still managed to hump the air pretending it was him (dreams are for freeeee!). There are just so many twists and turns that I really need to vent about the delicious-ness that is this book or I am going to explode.

But honestly, if you loved Bebe's Broken Love series then you will definitely love this book. Step into the world of Angel Knight and Mian Ross and you will never want to leave. A kinky little fucker that will leave you hungover for days. I couldn't have asked for a greater conclusion to Angel and Mian's story and I can't WAIT to see what Bebe has in store for us next. I'm still fucking bummed though, that it's over. After being consumed by their story, having to live with the fact that its over is the hardest part. Pre-order and get ready to one-click because this is one book you DEFINITELY DO NOT WANT TO MISS OUT ON!
