"A roving knight. A runaway girl. Makes for one outstanding story!"- Night Owl Reviews

If you love paranormal romance, you cannot miss the newest addition to the winner of Best Paranormal Romance Series four years in a row.

For five years Glendennon Catch had knocked around the globe as a floater, filling in wherever a team of vampire hunters was down a member. He'd buried six good knights and watched the life take its toll on countless others. He'd drunk his share of whiskey and bedded so many women he would hate to hear the count, but he'd never gotten over his first love. And, if he had a chance for a do-over, he would have put love first.

Elora Rose Storm had spent five years nursing a heavy heart, while on a cross-dimensional mission to make the world a better place, especially wherever she found human/animal hybrids being mistreated. She'd seen horrors, righted wrongs where she could, and matured into a powerful witch/demon with altruistic leanings.

After all that time, unbeknownst to each other, both were headed home. To Jefferson Unit.

Glendennon Catch has been one of my favorite characters since we very first saw him introduced. He's James Dean without all the baggage and an added side of astrophysicist-level intelligence. There's this charm about him that wiggles underneath my skin especially deeply when he lets go a rogue growl, just because he can.

Rosie Storm wasn't ever one of my favorite characters. I think mostly because she was just overshadowed by the other star players at the forefront of the stories in which she found herself. Pretty hard to focus on a precocious little girl when her father is Superman and her dad is THE sex demon. But she emerged from childhood straight into a fully realized woman who I began to love in Carnal and she finishes that transition in this book and won my admiration and affection in spades.

The story of how two people who are fated, body, mind and soul, to be together, but who somehow lose each other is an old one. It's a classic one, in fact. And it happens to be one of my favorites. Because of that, I'm often willing to overlook leaps of faith or silly Hallmark transitions to get them back together. But I should have known that Victoria Danann would never employ such trite tactics to tell this piece of these character's stories. She's better than that and she has much better tricks up her sleeves.

This book is classic because Glen and Rosie's love is of that classic variety - pure, strong and unfortunately, taken for granted by both of them. How they find their way back to each other, after having been beat about the head and shoulders by life for 5 years is where they go off book and start telling a brand new story.

And it's beautiful. And powerful, as is befitting of two such intriguing, multi-faceted characters. The soul of this story took me completely off guard. Brought me home to what Danann does so very well - illustrate the human condition with beautifully chosen words that highlight the simple and profound fact that love is life. And life is love.

The definition of a Journeyman is "any experienced, competent but routine worker or performer." I suppose by that definition, Glen is absolutely the journeyman in this story. But because it's a story told by Victoria Danann and because it's a story within the landscape of The Knights of the Black Swan, there is nothing routine about it. It's an adventure with all the very best elements included - raucous laughter, joyful tears, profound discovery and always, love.

What a wild ride!! And what a welcome relief from other reading. Danann is in a class of her own. With complex and multilayered plots and characters who are so real you feel you can reach out and touch, or better still, be pulled into their world, if only for a short while! She weaves a story so good that it must be read and reread to get all the good tidbits.
The world of Black Swan has been so well developed in previous books that it is easy to fall into it, like a comfy couch. IT feels like HOME. The characters, old and new are so multidimensional (no pun intended) that they feel like old friends.
It was hard to figure out what Rosie and Glen would do when they saw each other, and none of my thoughts would have been right. The Glen we see in Jouneyman has very little in common with the sweet boy we loved in previous books. The time has not been kind to him. But Rosie has had her own demons and both have become a person neither recognizes. How can they, or even can they get back to each other. Should they? IS it too late?
But that is not the whole story. Danann has created another wonderful Black Swan story to surround and intertwine with the love story that is Glen and Rosie. It’s what she does so very well. And she will bring it all together and all will be revealed in the end. It all comes together to make this the best Black Swan book so far!!! Both in World building and in the characters who live in that world, Danann is top-notch! No one does it better! She has a unique way of writing that lures you in and snuggles you down for the duration. With plot twists and surprises along the way, this one cannot be missed. Make yourself a happy reader and start the Black Swan Series now with My Familiar Stranger and just keep right on reading. Journeyman is book 9. You will be there before you know it. You will not want to put any of them down. MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I was so very lucky to pre-order this book. In my opinion, this is redemption.
We all love Rosie & Glen. This is their story. But it is so much more. I love the way Victoria weaves others into her books. It is not just about one or two characters. We get to see some of our favorite Black Swan Knights. Some of the older ones & some of the new younger ones.
The Trainees from Gathering Storm are back. Kristoph Falcon & Rolfe Wakenmann aka Flacon & Wakey. Sinclair Harvest & Kellan Chorzak aka Sin & Spaz. These guys are all grown up! WOW I would really like to meet the grown up Spaz!!!
Elora & Rammel & Their son Helm make an appearance also. Whenever they are in a book you know it is going to be exciting!
Of course since this is featuring Rosie. Litha & Storm are in it also. I felt like I was visiting old friends.
When I read a Victoria Danann book, I can just about guarantee I will be laughing out loud about some antic one of the characters get into. Was not disappointed. She made me Snort!! She also always finds a way to make me cry. Yes I did shed a few tears. Mostly as I am reading I am smiling because it was so enjoyable. I love that this book ends with a HEA!!
Please what are you waiting for? Go right now & get your copy. It is fantabulous!!!

Even through heartache and pain love holds on tight. The story of Glendennon Catch (Glen) and Elora Rose Storm (Rosie) has been a long awaited story for me. To know the things they went through and still are going through is beautiful in its own way. We got a good glimpse into Rosie's story with Exiled and this one give us a good glimpse into Glen's story. Elora, Litha, and the doctor make an appearance along with a love sick Falcon and the infamous true immortal Vampire. Love getting glimpses of what the other characters are up to while getting the big story. As always Victoria Danann can really pull a person into her world and never let go.

It might have been that I had read all of the stories too close together or something, but I wasn't too thrilled with this book. It was cool to see the old JU with some of the new people, but I just wasn't enthused about Glen and Rosie.
Glen's character went from this awesome, lovable, super smart guy to a broken down, sad, and unlikable person instead. All of these changes in Glen because of a spoiled, childish, and spoiled girl-child. It took forever for her to get a clue, mostly, about what she did. It also took forever after having gotten said clue getting around to actually fessing up and admitting to it....
I get what Rev and Monq did to get them back together again and I liked that, mostly. I didn't like how she used the threat of losing him in the passes if he pissed her off as a threat. I get how she was "growing up" during that time, but I also got the idea that it was a very emotional time for the people involved. Storm was/is one of Glen's role models, he chose to become a knight because of him, so wouldn't that be a bit too freaking harsh, or childish, to threaten someone with? Also her threatening to just pop out when she is mad and strand him where he is was stupid. I guess that hits me more because as a blind person I'm totally reliant, for the most part, on another person for travel to go almost anywhere. Some of these places yeah I can find my way home again, but it would not be easy. It would involve me either having to ask someone else to come get me or figure out where I am and figure out if there is public transportation I could use or something. It would be dependent on where I was left to be honest since I'm not one of those uber independent blind people.
I read Carnal and yeah I get that it was an emotional book and why it had to happen. Rosie doing her "growing up" within those several years she was AWOL from everyone was ... eh I didn't just accept that she matured any since I didn't really "see" it. I also thought it was stupid for her to come back and just expect everything to be mostly hunky dory with everyone she knew. Her being confused about people's reactions and how things progressed while she was gone ... didn't see it and I really think she deserved something more harsh. I don't think I will ever really like her character to be honest. I also dislike how Glen turned out, well anything that as to do with Rosie that is, otherwise he is still a cool guy. You especially see that in how he treats people as Sovereign.
I will just say the whole Chris and Gen thing ... was just wtf sad and that is it. I really look forward to reading his book and getting this mess of a storyline done and over with.
I know I am a minority when it comes to feeling this way ... but hey that is how I feel about these last few books.

I loved this book. Once again Ms Danann has brought out her bewitching way with words. I have been waiting for this book for a couple years. Journey Man is mainly about Glen and Rosie however; we get a few glimpses of some of our best loved characters from the beginning of this series and catch up on what has happened with them. I found myself on somewhat of an emotional roller coaster with Glen and Rosie. I didn’t know if I wanted to shake them or hug them, the motherly instinct in me coming out. But in Ms Danann’s wonderful way she made me fall in love with her characters all over again. Now if you really want to understand where Glen and Rosie come from you will want to begin at the beginning of this fabulous series, Knights of Black Swan, with the first book, My Familiar Stranger.

Even though it's been a while since the last "true" Black Swan book, it took me no time at all to become fully engrossed & invested in this book. While the last book Ms. Danann gave us was also about Elora "Rosie" Storm, it was not a Black Swan story. Reading another book in this series was like reading about old friends. Reading about Glendennon Catch and what he has been through over the last five years was heart-wrenching. I absolutely loved the whole book, all the different characters and layers. Great book, can't wait for more Black Swan!!!

JOURNEY Man is the 9th book in the Knights of Black Swan series and once again, Victoria Danann doesn't let us down. It is an amazing read that is fresh and exciting. Each book in the series is a gem and should be read in order. I would also suggest reading CARNAL before reading this one just to get some background on Rosie. Why deny yourself the pleasure of any of Victoria's books?
This story takes place five years after SOLOMON'S SIEVE. Glen had ignored Rosie's ultimatum to choose her or the Knights. He refused to be manipulated and joined the Order believing in the importance of the work they did. This ended his love affair with Rosie and set him off in another direction. However, after years as a floater, never staying with one group for very long and never developing any lasting bonds, he is worn out and broken. Having seen so much horror and loss, his belief in the nobility of his cause is in tatters. He has closed himself off from all emotions except anger. He is so different from the brilliant, vibrant person he was when we last saw him. My heart ached for him.
Rosie has also changed. After breaking up with Glen, she petulantly ran off to another realm to nurse her wounds. She didn't understand Glen's choice or why her father was so angry at her for making Glen choose. She left as a rather spoiled, immature girl but through her various trials emerged as a mature, caring woman. However, she suffered a loss that broke her heart. She has spent the last few years wandering through the various dimensions trying to help others.
Now Glen has been transferred back to the Jefferson Unit. Those who care about him are worried at the changes they see. He has not kept in touch with any of his friends and doesn't seek them out when he returns home. In fact, he purposely avoids them. His superiors are worried he is suffering from PTSD. Although he needs help, he has lost his ability to trust in others. As far as he is concerned, he is all alone in the world.
Rosie is home as well feeling restless. Her mother knows Rosie needs to find some meaningful work and has her daughter take over her role as a tracker. It is inevitable that Rosie and Glen meet again. Five years ago they had loved each other and they had hurt each other. Rosie can see the change in Glen and knows it is not for the good. Glen can only see Rosie as the self-centered child he knew before who broke his heart. In his pain, he can only lash out at her. Now they have to work together, but they seem to unable to bridge the walls they have built. They once loved each other, but now that love seems impossible.
However, all is not hopeless. They have people who care about them and are willing to break rules and cross boundaries to help them. Also despite the fact that they have closed off so much of their feelings, Rosie and Glen are at their core people capable of deep caring and great loyalty. They are truly good souls who have been battered by events they could not control.
This is a story that is about friendship, bravery, and sacrifice. It is about loss so overwhelming that it twists and changes your very being. But even if there is sadness, there is also much joy in this book. It is a truly delightful tale filled with romance and humour that will make your spirits soar. Love has a magical power. JOURNEY MAN is about having the courage to open your heart despite the risks. Sometimes we have to lose our way in order to find our true path.

Who isn't rooting for Rosie and Glen to get back together? I don't believe that there would be one person whose read all the books that have led up to this one, who would not want the two of them to be happy together...especially after what they have gone through separately in the five years while apart. Both of them have changed dramatically during their separation...Rosie has matured emotionally serving to help others and Glen has closed himself off to his feelings and has been on autopilot while serving as a Floater Knight for Black Swan.

Having all the previous Black Swan characters make appearances here was a stroke of genius on Ms Danann's part...we who've become emotionally invested in these characters love seeing them pop up again and again. It was pure pleasure having Monq involved in planning with Elora and Litha to get Rosie and Glen back together...that they also pulled in Baka and Heaven, Deliverance and Jean Etienne made it that much more fun. Deliverance is always good for a laugh or two.

The closure that Rosie and Glen found in the end just made the tie up of the series that much sweeter...if the series was to continue, that would be great, but at this point it wouldn't have to and I'd still have enjoyed the series.

Glen and Rosie looked like a perfect match until Rosie made an ultimatum and Glen made his choice. It's been 5 years and they both find themselves back where it all started but they've both changed. Will they be able to find their way finally or will first love be the only title they can never really have together?

Rosie has grown up a lot she may have grown up fast in appearance but it took the experiences of the last 5 years for her to fully come into her own.

Glen has changed a lot as well, he is no longer the happy care-free guy everyone once knew and loved now he's battle-hardened and deep in the pits of depression.

The two are forced to work together to find a missing order member, but will they be able to work out their past?

We see how much heartache Rosie put clean through and the backlash of it all we also see how much they still both care for each other and I enjoyed watching these two work through their issues. I also enjoyed seeing the continuation of the series and I'm excited to see if there will be even more!

I was home again! That's just what it felt like reading this book...back with my friends the Black Swans. Victoria Danann has got this magic with her writing that takes you into the story and you feel like your part of it. To see how Rosie Storm has grown into a strong beautiful young woman who knows what she wants. To feel the pain Glenn has inside of him and not knowing the whole story...but being so hurt and angry that he thinks he doesn't want to know the truth. To be back in Jefferson Unit where everything started not just for Glenn and Rosie but to visit with the "older folk" again. I've waited 2 long year's for another Black Swan story and Ms. Danann did not disappoint! Excellent!

To be honest, I didn't know if I was ready to read Journey Man after the events in Carnal. Well, Victoria proved once again why she remains one of my favorite authors; from the very first page, she weaves her literary magic and the reader is captivated, unable to stop reading until the story is finished! Sticking with her unpredictability and unique storyline, you remember as you whizz through the pages, that Victoria never just tells one story but a few all at the same time and I loved being back with the Black Swan characters! This is an emotional, fascinating and enlightening journey, enjoy the ride!

As a lifelong fan of author Victoria Danann and her amazing Order of the Black Swan series, I was thrilled to receive a copy. With Journeyman, she has continued to develop and grow the world of the Black Swan knights, and in doing so, has made Journeyman one of the best in the entire series. It follows the story of Sir Glendennon Catch, as well as that of his former flame, Rosie Storm. And what a story they have! A roving knight, a runaway girl, and the loss of true love? All of this makes for one outstanding story! I did receive a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review.

"Elora made one more phone call to the most romantic person she knew, Istvan Baka."

Book number nine is five stars without even trying! What a fantastic escape back into the Black Swan world where Victoria makes me fall in love all over again. It was like slipping back into my comfortable cozy place. Rosie is a more mature and easy to love character, while Glenn makes you want to punch him in the arm then hug him tight. It is always easy to follow along and visualize what is happening. Keep them coming and never take away my Baka and you will have a forever fan.

I was so excited to read this book, especially after reading Carnal where my heart was torn out. This book helped to heal that broken heart. Rosie has been through so much, and her family wants to help her heal in a way that she needs.
Victoria has brought out most all of the Black Swan characters, and it was like being reunited with family you had not seen in a couple of years. There is humor and a roller coaster of emotions as with any Black Swan book, and I promise you will not be disappointed.

Ms. Danann continues to delight readers of her Knights of Black Swan Saga book after book. Journey Man features Rosie and Glen. Its a book about redemption; about looking at the past, admitting your mistakes, extending forgiveness and most importantly finding your way home to the people who love you.

As always I laughed (a lot) and shed some tears; suffered heartbreak right along with the characters and rejoiced when things came together in the end.

I can't wait to see what happens next!

This is the long awaited story of Rosie and Catch (Glenn). It's got paranormal romance, suspense, adventure and lots of humor and a crazy but lovable lot of friends and family. Its a very satisfying book. It's well written, has great primary and secondary characters. I recommend you set aside a block of time to read this book because you won't want to put it down.

Really? This is Glens and Rosies love story? Author managed to take two brilliant characters from the series and fuck up their book. No sparks, no chemistry, lots of angst.
Most of all- dear author, STOP forcing your readers to also read spin off series to understand the next installment in base series. I find this tactic manipulative and greedy. If we will find your writing good, we will naturally seek out your other books. Forcing just shows that you know your writing has declined and less people are likely to choose anything else you wrote, so to keep your income, you have to manipulate them into buying your other books . I am not likely to respond well to this tactic. So, here, enjoy your 1 star review for your efforts . Worth your bullying. I even have an idea for you- write 7 series simultaneously and make it so readers have to read them all simultaneously to understand what's going on. Imagine the sales you will get! Well, not from me. I am more likely to drop all your works and never pick up another book written by you.

Anyway. Dissapointing book. Skip it. All you need to know to keep reading series is that Glen and Rosie got married and Glen became the next Sovereign.

Another great read to add to my growing collection of Victoria danann books.
After reading the exiled books I jumped strain into this one as I wanted to know what Rosie had been up to ( got to get it in, its an amazing series on its own).
You could literally feel the animosity pouring of Glen when it came to Rosie the hurt he carried around with him after the ultimatum she gave him he loved her so much and to be fair vice versa, just a really bad decisions on Rosie's part.
I enjoyed reading how they were once again duped into being together by the mischievous ladies and not forgetting monk of all people.
I'm happy that he finally found out about his past and can now move forward.

I love a great love story and Victoria delivers in the Journey Man.. The Black Swan gang is back, the older knights and their families plus new younger knights Falcon, Wakey, Sin and of course Spaz. I would love to hook up with 4 they have grown in so many ways that you can't wait to see where their path leads them. Yes Storm, Litha Ram, Elora and their son Helm show for some excitement. Then there is Glen and Roise and the HEA we all been waiting for. I cried a few tears laughed out loud and was just a feel so good book. Everyone needs to go out and get this book you will not be dissappointed

This outing reunites Elora Rose Storm and Sir Glendennon Catch who painfully and reluctant separated when Rosie gave Glen an ultimatum. Glen chose his work over Rosie, becoming a knight travelling the world working with various Black Knights teams. Rosie promptly left the dimension and found her own work as she matured.

Five years have passed and neither Rosie nor Glen have been happy or returned to JU. Glen’s pushed home to deal with his issues and as fate would have it, Rosie’s decided she’s homesick. Secondary character, Kris Falcon’s not ready to give up on his unrequited love of Genevieve and events present themselves to make it seem he should.

Journey Man by Victoria Danann is the ninth fantastic book in the Knights of Black Swan Series. This is Glen and Rosie´s book.
For five years Glendennon Catch was chased around the globe as floater to fight vampire.
Elora Rose Storm , Engel Storm and Litha´s daughter had nursed her broken heart. But now he´s back and she had time to grow up.
Just like Litha, Rosie has many skills, she can travel through time and dimensions. She´s totally fearless and a bit naivé.
I loved meeting old friend and new acquaintances.
I give 4,5 stars

This is the story of the HEA for Glendennon Catch and Elora Rose Storm. "Rosie" has been back from the dimension where the Exiled lived for 5 years. In that time she hasn't met up with "Glen" to heal old wounds. Until Glen is called in from active duty for psych evaluation. Dr. Monq and Sovereign Farthington have decided that the best way to heal Glen's broken psyche is to get him and Rosie back together. Along with family and friends they hatch a plot. Part of the plot includes bringing in an Awol Sir Falcon.

What an ending!

GREAT story. I had to break out the Kleenex a few times, but I loved this ending for Rosie and Glen. This story is kind of the end of an era for the Knights of Black Swan. I know there are other books in this series, but I feel like I am done. 10 books is enough for me. The next few books are about the next generation. I will definitely read Victoria Dunann again in the future. She's an amazing storyteller.
