Road-Tripped

Rate this book
What’s worse than driving a phallic-shaped RV across the country with a coworker you hate? Falling in love with them.

Copywriter Callie Murphy has a bad attitude, a vicious tongue, and a serious aversion to Shimura Advertising’s resident manwhore, Walker Rhodes. Know where he can stick his good looks and Southern charm? She can think of a few creative places. Avoiding him wouldn’t be a problem, except her boss threatens to fire her if she doesn’t go along with him on their RV client’s cross-country tour.

Burnt-out art director, Walker, is sick of his job, tired of women, and in a big old creative rut. The upcoming client road trip is just what he needs to shake things up and rediscover his lost passion. But his plans go south when his partner drops out at the last minute, and Callie, the foul-mouthed tiny terror, takes her place. Unless he can find a way to thaw his icy coworker, he’s looking at two months of pure hell.

Road-Tripped is a stand-alone novel and the first book in the Ad Agency Series.

I don't even know how to review this book but if I had to describe it in one word, that word would be: PERFECTION! Because PERFECT is what this book is, from stat to finish. From the way it's written, to it's fresh and original content, the way the author blends funny with emotional parts that are bound to make you tear up, from picturesque setting to an absolutely HYSTERICAL dialogue/banter between a cast so colorful that I actually squealed with delight when I found out author's plans for many more books in the series because I can read about this entertaining bunch forever!

I can't recommend this book enough. And to pretty much EVERYONE. I can't name ONE person that I know who WOULDN'T enjoy this story.

Callie and Walker stole my heart from the minute I met them. They aren't exactly 'opposites attract' kind of deal but they definitely compliment each other in the best of ways. As I said above, the supporting cast is just as great as the main couple and the story itself. They enhance said story just as much as everything our main duo encounters on the scenic route to their destination.

READ. THIS. BOOK! I promise you won't be disappointed. And, if for any reason you end up disliking it, your next read is on me! So you really have nothing to lose but a fantastic new reading experience to gain!

Nicole Archer is a 'new-to-me' author who now has a new fan for life! I am kicking myself for waiting so long to read this book but I am glad I finally did because 'better late than never', right?

P.S. This book would make a PERFECT TV show. Seriously.

A road trip to happiness…with a few bumps.

Interruptions to my reading are the bane of my existence. I hate having to stop reading my book at the 90% mark because real life is calling. I get up at 6:30 on the mornings I work. If I leave it even 5 minutes later I’m scrambling to get everything done. Sometimes, I try to stretch it out to 6:35 or 6:40, but I always regret it and walk out the door with something missing (one earring) or not done (teeth brushing....I know gross). This morning I decided to get a little reading in before work and when the alarm went off I realised I was smack bang on 90%.

Oh no...Everything is up in the air, there’s drama, lack of communication and misunderstandings to work through. Do I read for 5 minutes more and hope that some of the issues have been worked through, or do I stop and wait till I can sit back and work through their problems without rushing? I did the right thing and turned off my kindle. It was hard, but I knew it was the best decision I could make. Only problem…I spent the whole bloody day worrying about how they were going to work through their issues. I wanted to sit them down, have a sensible chat with them or alternatively smack their bloody thick skulls together. Luckily, they waited for me…and we worked it all out fine and dandy.

In the beginning, we meet Callie Murphy who appears to be trying to rig a bomb to blow up her workplace. Luckily this is all in her head and we come to realise that Callie is suffering through her idea of hell. Her boss, Skip, who’s also one of her closest friends, likes to have social gatherings with his staff. Skip and the staff seem to party more than they work and Callie finds their shenanigans very frustrating. One of the things that drive her crazy is watching her manwhore co-worker, Walker, being fawned over by the women in the office. She tells herself it’s because he’s despicable, but deep down she knows it’s more because she wouldn’t mind getting her hands on him herself. What she doesn’t realise is that things are not quite as they seem.

Walker HATES his work and is very close to quitting. When the opportunity comes up to leave the office behind and hop in a campervan for two months, he jumps at the chance. The campervan company wants a writer and a photographer to travel around America blogging about the experience. Walker’s the photographer and his friend Avery was supposed to be the writer. Unfortunately, she's pregnant and has extreme morning, noon and night sickness. Avery has to back out and a new writer needs to be found. Imagine Walker’s surprise and horror when he finds out the woman he’s going to spend the next two months with…hates him with a vengeance.

Poor old Callie and Walker don’t start their trip very well. Callie has some stuff she’s trying to get over and is, unfortunately, taking it out on Walker. Walker knows that Callie got the worst impression of him when they were at a work function and women seem to be throwing themselves at him. He didn’t take them up on their offer…but Callie didn’t see that part. The first part of their journey they have to get to know the real Callie and Walker and work together to make this campaign a winner.

Road Tripped at first seemed a little OTT with its humour but as the story progressed it seemed to settle down and I was actually laughing out loud. Callie is foul-mouthed and has no hesitations saying what’s on her mind. Walker, on the other hand, is a good ole Southern boy who charms his way with a smile, a wink and all the right words. There were times that both Callie and Walker seemed a wee bit immature and it drove me a little bonkers. Slight misunderstandings turned into temper tantrums and silent treatments. The sexy times were steamy but Walker’s dirty talk sounded like a 16-year-old. At first, I was cringing but by the end, I was smirking.

Road Tripped is Nicole Archer’s debut novel and I think she’s done a pretty awesome job with it. Do I think there’s room for improvement? Sure. Will I read more work by her? You bet. Do I recommend Road Tripped? Yeppers.

FIVE STARS *****

Five stars of complete AWESOME.

Super fun, and full of surprises. The characters were complex, relatable, and completely lovable. This is the kind of book that makes a perfect gift, because anybody who reads it is guaranteed a good time.

Not only did I love the plot and the characters, but the writing style was perfection. I love this author's voice; strong, smart and so funny.

Callie and Walker were the perfect couple. They loved torturing each other inside of their RV. Their adventures made for amazing memories, and as a reader you felt like you were another companion in their amazing road trip.

Callie and Walker work for the same ad agency and both hate their jobs. Neither of them wanted to go on the road trip their boss is forcing on them. But this road trip is about to change their lives but not before some crazy things happen.

Don't waste any more time reading my silly review and go one-click this sexy, laugh out loud novel that is now on my favorite's books shelf.

4.5 STARS!
He made life luminous.
Ahhhh! It's quite possible that Nicole Archer and I were separated at birth. Because we are so obviously twins! It's like she wrote this book just for me: I LOVED the sarcasm, I LOVED the off-color humor, and I LOVED the angst. Douse all that in romance and then wrap it up with a cleverly written bow, and we have MAGIC!

The plot: Callie is not at a good place in her life; she's possibly even at her lowest, and that's saying something. Her old friend, Skip, generously gives her a job at his ad agency in NYC. The only problem is Callie loathes the party atmosphere that he fosters at work - she also loathes the charismatic office manwhore, Walker. She knows his type and she avoids him at all costs.

Of course, fate throws them together for a work project in the form of a cross-country road trip. :-)

Callie and Walker were so much fun together! They bickered, they lobbed one-liners back and forth, they slowly wore each other down with witty humor that had me giggling almost non-stop.
"Weren't you ever a scout?"

"I didn't want to be another pawn in their cookie pyramid scheme."
Neither of them were what they appeared to be on the surface. To Walker, Callie was just a bitter bitch.
He should submit a new Pantone color dedicated to her eyes and call it Lethal Arctic Blue.
To Callie, Walker was just pathetic.
The music was loud, but he had zero trouble reading the words, "What a fucking tool," on her lips.
Their journey from enemies to lovers was a joy to read . . . then came the angst. Whoa! As most of you know, I adore angst, and this author dished it up in extra-large servings.

Which brings me to the reasons for shaving off a half star on my rating. A few times, Walker's comments/actions stepped over the line for me. Also I felt the 'miscommunication' between them was taken too far in a few places.
"Why? Why didn't you set me straight?"
This is a very good question . . . but I have to say that my dissatisfaction was greatly out-weighed by my satisfaction. There was one particularly swoon-worthy line that blew me away, plus, the epilogue was wonderful. Ergo, I rounded up!! I whole-heartedly recommend this one!

This was so much more than I thought it would be.

I thought it would be a funny lighthearted enemies to lover read but it offered so much more.

It was hilariously funny, but the hero and heroine were both struggling with their pasts, and their hurts. The hero especially was more than the first impression gave you.

But it was also chock full of emotion and a depth that was unexpected.

Overall I loved the hero and heroine, loved the secondary characters, and it was a great funny romance that packed more of an emotional punch than you would expect.

A great 5 stars

“I like to have a martini, two at the very most. After three I’m under the table, after four I’m under my host.” – Dorothy Parker

What a riot!! I don’t often love romantic comedies because they’re usually, well, not so funny but ‘Road-Tripped’ is a welcome surprise! Do NOT read this if you are easily offended by dirty language but DO read this if you’re in the mood for a modern, sexy, hilarious story. Nicole Archer has a very fresh voice and I look forward to big things from her! And I LOVE the cover.

First, I was surprised to learn that this was the author’s debut book. The story is unique, the dialogue snappy and funny and sarcastic and the characters felt real and well, just perfect! There are wonderful quotes placed at the beginning of each chapter along with a fantastic playlist; all in all, there was a lot of thought that went in to the writing and production of this book.

Callie Murphy has zero filter and a big temper. She’s witty, sarcastic and just moved across the country to New York City on the heels of a really bad break-up. She’s working at her friend Skip’s ad agency and is assigned to take a road trip with the one person in the office she absolutely cannot stand, Walker Rhodes. They are supposed to drive cross-country in a camper, all for work, of course.

Walker is sexy, irresistible to everyone in the office except Callie and is at a crossroads in his life. He is a brilliant photographer but feels unfulfilled at the ad agency. Funny, a little nerdy and absolutely gorgeous, Walker is actually a really good guy. As they travel all over the country, will Callie see the real Walker? Nicole Archer takes one my favorite tropes, enemies-to-lovers, and turns it into a fantastic and very readable story.

There is tons of steam in this book, and it is FUNNY as well as sexy. The writing is laugh-out-loud hilarious as well as very heartfelt.

“She raked her fingers down his back. Swoosh, bang, crackle – her body lit up with the fireworks and sang 'God Bless America.'”

The story was not at all predictable and was filled with surprises all along the way. I loved the description of each place Walker and Callie visited. This is how a romantic comedy should be written. Sweet, sexy and charming, ‘Road-Tripped’ hit all the high notes. Grab this one if you are looking for a break from a traditional romance novel or you just need a break for a few hours from real life! Can’t wait to read more from this very talented author.

When I first read the blurb for this book I thought I would like it, enemies to lovers with a road trip thrown in sounded like a lot of shits and giggles. I had been reading a few highly emotional books and I figured this would be a nice change of pace.

So I dove in and then I had to stop and check the blurb again. I seemed to be reading the wrong book and I thought my goldfish memory had struck and I had mixed up books. I mean sure there was some humour and I loved the stoner boss and his team bonding exercises but I wasn’t getting anything like I expected.

There was so much emotion and I will be honest initially I didn’t want that so I took a bit to get into the book. But the writing was so good and the characters were captivating enough that I had to know why they were how they were and see when the mounting sexual tension was going to boil over.

Then I spent a few hours playing chauffeur to the kids reading a page here and there and I was even more intrigued to see how this was all going to happen that I ended up not being able to put the book down until the last page at 2am this morning.

This is one of those times that I am so glad I didn’t get what I wanted because I got so much more. I got so many laughs, they just weren’t the cheap ones I expected, but the way Nicole manipulated my emotions was truly masterful.

There’s a few things personally I would have liked to see added on at the end but despite the lack of vengeance I still really loved this story. It’s a kick arse debut novel and I will be watching out for more of Nicole’s work in the future.

Get ready for the ultimate road trip in the fanciest camper. A camper that looks like a silver dildo.

Callie Murphy gets assigned to travel across America for her job. But there's a catch. It has to be with the sexy art director. And they also have to act like a couple blogging about their experience.

Any hotblooded woman would be excited about being stuck with a handsome guy, but Callie isn't happy at all. She sees Walker as a big womanizer and playboy. She'd rather just sit in her corner and be invisible than go on the long road-trip.

Walker isn't thrilled about being with the antisocial Callie either. He just wants to relax and reignite his passion for photography without having someone constantly being mean to him.

Throughout the trip, the characters experience some major road bumps, and discover that they have misjudged each other. There are also a lot of cute scenes and funny moments, but things always fall apart due to Callie's insecurities. Other than the constant back and forth during their relationship, I really liked the story.

3.5 Roadtrippin' stars.

This was a lot of fun to read and although it is a romantic comedy it went deeper than that with real heartfelt emotion.

From enemies to friends, friends to lovers back to enemies, trying to be friends and eventually being lovers again. To not believing in a HEA. Heroine was too much IMO that said the Hero made up for it in all the ways that count.

This is a crazy read and bloody hilarious. From the asylum, to the outdated amusement park. The gator situation to the Hurricane. It was all a fabulous ride.

Read the book peeps.

3.5 sh—poo…shampoo? stars!

Had I not just come off a horrible read of Burn For You and been dealing with my suffering from all of the terrible Southern metaphors I might have been able to add an extra half star to this one. There were only a dozen of them in this read, but each one felt like a cold fish slap to the face shock to my system. Without my previous traumatization I may have found them charming, coming from Walker.

I loved the road trip aspect of the story. Two people, trapped in a *ahem* “silver dildo” for hours on end, with nothing to but miles of road ahead of them and plenty of time to get to know each other.

Off we go, she thought, to Hell in an RV.

There were plenty of funny moments between these two, sexual innuendos, groan worthy puns and quite a few ridiculous situations that they found themselves in (did someone say nudist campsite?).

Callie had just come out of a horrible relationship and had so much pain and mistrust she was still carrying. I kept waiting for her to have a cathartic, emotional breakdown and talk about everything with Walker but instead she always shut down and ran away. I wanted more growth from her that never seemed to come.

"You see ugliness in that picture, but I see raw emotion, and to me that’s beautiful."

Walker was much more patient with his Bluebell than I was. I loved his Southern charm!

I just have one more small thing that I’d like to say and it’s directed to Nicole Archer all authors…

Despite all my little rants, I did enjoy [most of] the time spent on the road with Callie & Walker.

Well well well. Started this book a week ago. Could not get past the first chapter without zoning out. But then something peculiar happened. I read a glowing review of another reader whose opinion I respect and gave it another go. And thank the man upstairs I did cuz this is going on my favorites shelf. It has some issues, that must be said. But- and it's a big but– so rich with funny dialogue and characters you root and swoon for that it makes you blind to them. On to the next one in the series. I'm skipping through a meadow, hearts in eyes, giddy with excitement over it.

This is my first time reading anything by Nicole Archer, and shoo… let me tell you, people, I was truly impressed with this author and this book. Immediately upon finishing, I sent an IM to my blogger bosses, Amie and Miranda, to tell them that they needed to read this book—not sure they believed me, so I’m hoping that this review will convince them that I’m not fooling around here. I’m going to start this review out a bold statement, perhaps the boldest statement that I’ve ever made in a review. Ready? Here we go: Road-Tripped by Nicole Archer is unquestionably among—possibly even THE—best written romantic comedy I have ever read. Yep. See, I told you, bold. Read on, and I’ll explain why.

First off, I was astonished by, well, pretty much everything about this book. I mean, this is her debut novel. Seriously?! With how well written this book was, how richly developed and well plotted the story was and how completely fleshed out the characters were, it would not have surprised me in the slightest if I Googled Nicole Archer and found a backlist of 763 books. Everything about this story just jumped off the page, almost taking on life, as if it were happening around me. And then there were the unique little finishing details, often overlooked by much more seasoned authors, that were meticulously chosen for inclusion and did their parts well to enhance the overall reading experience. Things like the well placed, quirky and oh-so-fitting little quotes interspersed within the chapters to break up scenes or the exceptionally thoughtful and really kicka$$ playlist. I always check an author’s playlist out should one be included in a book; sometimes I’ll listen and sometimes I won’t, but this particular playlist provided the absolute perfect soundtrack (I mean, hello! The Stones?! ELO?!! Rupert Holmes!! – FABULOUS!) to this phenomenal romcom and is totally worth the listen.

The heroine, Callie Murphy, was a filter-less, foul-mouthed, feisty woman who doesn’t hesitate to speak her mind, and I have to say, I loved this about her. She’s got one heck of a fiery temper, and as a woman fresh off a devastating break up that culminated in a frantic half-country relocation, she’s a touch on the angry side. She does have a tendency to let her sarcastic tongue do the talking for her, and it can lash out whip-quick with snarky, biting commentary that skirts right there on the edge of mean-girl viciousness. A copywriter working for her friend’s ad agency in New York, she’s been assigned to a client’s cross-country camper campaign, and Callie is none-too-pleased at her road trip partner pairing.

Walker Rhodes is man on the edge. Or in this case, the verge – of quitting his job. He is d-o-n-e, DONE. It turns out that the office’s rumored manwhore has a true calling in life, and it is photography. This cross-country camper trip desperately appeals to him as the much-desired chance to get his creative juices flowing again by getting out there on the road with his camera. Gentlemanly and so handsome he renders much of the female population stupid with his good looks, Walker is actually a really great guy, albeit a bit misunderstood. He needs this trip, and he’s not going to let it be ruined by Callie.

This book was positively brimming with laugh-out-loud moments and so much hilarity, it’s nearly impossible for me to pick one, two or even three top favorite moments. The banter between Callie and Walker was the stuff of Hollywood-movie scripts. The creative license the author took with the English language in coining her own words and phrases never failed to fill my eyes with tears of laughter. I can guarantee some of those words will become permanent fixtures in my vocabulary, so thanks for that Ms. Archer.

I loved Callie and Walker together. Both of them began this trip a bit world weary, a bit jaded in their own ways and definitely not looking for romance and certainly not with–gasp!–each other. They had to first bridge an uneasy, cantankerous work relationship to friendship, which they did spectacularly, before it morphed into more. Ultimately, though, what they found on that trip, and in each other, is what great romcoms are all about, and I couldn’t help but root for them.

Nicole Archer is an incredibly talented author, and she used her words carefully, chose them precisely, and in doing so, she was able to paint vividly detailed pictures of not only the places they visited, but the entire story. This book was so smart, it was so very witty, it was charmingly sweet yet somehow complex and it was very sexy. I honestly had no expectations going into this book, beyond just hoping that I’d at least enjoy it. Well color me surprised, because I can honestly say that I not only thoroughly enjoyed this book, but it was also well beyond anything I expected. I was so truly impressed by Nicole Archer’s writing, and Road-Tripped was absolutely everything I hope for and want in a romantic comedy. This book was a brilliant breath of fresh air! Without question, it very deservedly and wholeheartedly gets 5 smooches from me!

Well, I had some laugh out loud times, some wtf times and some times I was questioning what the hell was going on with this read.

One, I just can't when writers do the "aww shucks" and use phrases that convey all southerners as people who speak in nonstop colloquialisms. It got SOOOOOOO old and hard for me to read. But yet, I guess it's just another one of my problems, one of many I'm afraid.
And some phrases were just, well, yuck. For example, "You’re nuttier than a port-a-potty at a peanut festival." Ummm....just gross. This is coming from someone who fell off her couch laughing at South Park's Mr. Hanky the Christmas Poo. Ms. Archer's insertion of the phrase just didn't fit with the scene, IMHO.
If you are looking into the port-o-potty hole or thinking about the nuts, well darling you have much bigger issues.

I laughed out loud quite a few times, I mean who hasn't plotted some sort of odd revenge list about their most annoying co-workers? Walker's grandma was AWESOME, loved her to death.

Two, wtf times were abundant. Seriously the heroine thought her sister Effie was crazy, she was the only normal one (next to Walker) and all the useless shit the heroine bought, usually after complaining about having no money, no where to live blah blah blah. Girl, buy yourself a book on being a minimalist.

Three, my moment of questioning occurred when this little tiny ™ at the end of a phrase popped up not once, but thrice! I could have missed one or two because I skimmed. It was something like, Murphy-death-I-stopped-caring-what-this-author-was-trying-to-convey-by-using-this-phrase-because-I-was-shocked-by-the™ at-the-end. I have no idea why it was there. Did she trademark this phrase? It was just odd to me and why that phrase. If someone out there has the answer, please let me know. I'm curious but won't lose sleep over it.

So I'll close by saying most of this book was not for me. Others will probably howl with laughter, but I was only at a 20% howl...Mr. Hanky was a 90%

“So Bluebell what do you think love is?”
“To me, love is a verb. It’s horribly cliché, but actions scream louder than words.”

5 fabulous stars because we loved the sh-poo out of this book! It really was a fabulous read, and one that left us with such a warm and happy feeling in our hearts! We laughed out loud, we smiled throughout and our romantic hearts squealed with glee! Nicole Archer delivered a story full of warmth, emotion, a dash of angst, humour and lots and lots of heart, with enough steamy deliciousness to satisfy those who like heat in their reads. Nothing slowed the flow of the story and the emotion made our hearts ache but was so cleverly cloaked in wonderful sarky humour that ensured we always had a glow in our hearts and an abundance of giggles at the ready. What a terrific introduction to this author!

‘What if I fall? Oh but, darling, what if you fly?’

Road Tripped has to up there as one of the best enemies to lovers romances we’ve read. The humour was so on point. The sarcastic banter between Callie and Walker tickled us no end. Walkers puns had us in fits of laughter, and the journey around the US was visually captivating thanks to the talent of Nicole Archer who painted the perfect picture with her natural flowing storytelling. We felt as though we’d travelled the country in that campervan with Callie and Walker. We took in every sight, sound and smell – music blaring in our heads thanks to the fabulous soundtrack– this was a fictional setting brought to life courtesy of this authors brilliant and fabulously entertaining writing.

‘Her teeth were clenched tight, probably hiding the fangs that had just popped out.’

Twenty eight year old Callie Murphy is at a crossroads. Her life is in tatters. Her fiancée cheated on her, her sister cleaned out her savings. Her lifeline come by way of her friend Skip Shemura who flies her to New York to work in his ad agency. But, the job is sucking the creative life out of Callie.

Walker Rhodes is a talented photographer but at thirty, life is passing him by and his creativity is stilted at the ad agency. Walker rubs Callie up the wrong way. She has pre conceived opinion of who Walker Rhodes is…he’s the office man tart…isn’t he? Or did she judge him unfairly?

Walker Rhodes has a presence – as Callie put it…’Once he stepped inside the room, dumbassapohoria took hold, and every female brain within a six-foot radius shrunk to the size of a Tic-Tac.’ Well…who could blame them because Walker Rhodes made us positively dumassaphoric too! He was utter deliciousness. A masculine Southern gentleman with a dirty mouth whose self-censorship was hilarious. As he would say…. “I keep my dirty words in the sheets, not on the streets.” Electric blue eyes framed by glasses….a powerful, imposing man who wasn’t afraid to share his vulnerable side or scream like a girl when Callie drove The Silver Dildo (the campervan guys) like a demon! Oh boy did we do some serious swooning over his devilishly sweet southern charm.

“Something tells me you’ve got a good reason to feel that way or you wouldn’t be trying to hide it.” He kept quiet for a minute. “Be sad if you need to be sad. There’s nothing wrong with feeling blue. There’s a lot of beauty borne from sorrow – music, art..poetry. “

As Callie and Walker embark on their road trip around the US courtesy of an ad campaign for one of their clients, they strive to discover their lost creativity, drawing inspiration from their surroundings and each other. They deal with their pasts, their present and their future all within the confines of an RV…will they survive without killing each other or will the prospect of leaving their RV bubble fill them with dread? All will be revealed, so go on, 1Click this fabulousness now!

And….just when we thought we couldn’t ask for more, Nicole Archer went and delivered a kick arse, melt our hearts epilogue! Oh sigh…it was perfection. Turn us over, we’re done! Well, we’re not done really, because we’re off to devour more Nicole Archer goodness in Head Tripped! Yoohoo!

'With them, words were just unnecessary noise.’

You know how sometimes in life you're completely unsure about a story, whether you want to invest the time or your energy in something that might completely screw you in the end?

Calliope Rhodes knew from the first Freudian-slip that linked her in unintentional faux matrimony with co-worker/southern punner/road trip partner, Walker Rhodes. She just didn't KNOW she knew. Until she'd fallen in forskelt with him and neglected to realize it until it nearly slid through her fingers like a slippery grape seed. Until it was almost too late.

This author has a deft touch with a character-driven plot that ripples out and back with the visual resonance of raindrops falling into a clear pool. Mesmerizing. Something you watch unfold for hours without realizing the time has passed. Her characters are faceted and flawed, their interactions messy and true-to-life, their adventures somewhat wild and foreign, but heartbreakingly familiar like a joyous and somehow bittersweet homecoming.

This is one of the most entertaining, endearing, Fresh-As-A-Sweet-Peach-Pie-Cooling-On-A-Georgia-Windowsill(tm) stories you'll have read in a long while. In a literal world of Athelete, Billionaire, Soldier of Fortune, Military, Cowboy and Vampire/Shifter/Post Apocalyptic tropes comes Vagabond-Love-In-A-Silver-RV. Two people who find themselves and each other while lost on the road together. A few pages through and I was sucked in deep like swamp mud around my favorite pair Chucks.

This book, with its tart and sassy reluctant heroine and the mistaken-for-manwhore(patent pending) hero who wears her down into love without even realizing he wanted to, is a cool breeze on a hot day. A banana split with all the fixings. It should win an award for its sheer brilliance, originality and newness. I laughed. I cried. It was the feel good book of the year.

Unforgettable.

Go. Read. Now.(TM, patent pending, all rights reserved)

I didn't realise until the end, but it turned out, i really loved this book.

It's not without it's moments, but it was one hell of an entertaining read, plenty of goings on, enough drama to keep it interesting and lots of lovely and witty moments.

4.5 Stars from me. I hope the rest in the series are also good!

The humor in this book was right up my alley, those who know me best have said it's a good thing I have all boys, because I'm have a dirty and warped mind like a teenage boy! I think my favorite aspects of this book were how much fun this couple could have together, the silly joking and kidding...that is the way I spend my favorite times with my own husband. The road trip across the country with no exact plan is my worst nightmare and biggest dream all rolled into one, so I thoroughly enjoyed the journey in this tale.
I had a few issues with editing errors. Sentences that had to be re-read and words missing, while this is usually something I have a hard time over looking, it didn't ruin the experience and take me out of the story.
For a first novel, a strong showing. I plan to continue on with the series.

This was a fantastic debut novel by Nicole Archer. I saw this advertised on Penny Reid’s page (I’m a big fan) and I love a unique book cover so I was pretty excited to dive in. If you love Rom-Coms with a fun and creative storyline you will love Road-Tripped.

Callie Murphy is a copywriter who has just been told she has to go on cross-country tour with her “manwhore” co-work Walker Rhodes for an RV campaign. Callie is fresh off of a bad breakup and kind of angry at life right now. She has a foul mouth and a mean temper and the last thing she wants to do is spend time in an RV with Walker.

Walker is Shimura’s art director and he is sick and tired of his job. Walker’s real passion is photography; so the chance to go on this trip is just what he needs to get his creative juices flowing. When his partner drops out and he gets stuck with Callie he is prepared for two months of hell. But Walker works that southern charm and gets through to Callie.

I loved the realism and the relatability in this story. Like a lot of people they are both stuck in a job that is sucking the life out of them. They start out driving each other crazy but on the road they both find themselves creatively and personally. Callie and Walker were so good for each other and so much fun to read about. My only frustration was the perception Callie had of Walker clouded her judgment for most of the story. Callie was stubborn and wouldn’t let him explain so it drove me a little crazy. That being said I thought Callie was a really strong heroine but she had a mountain of hurt to get over. Walker was perfect for Callie with his Southern charm and his good heart.

I just adored the road trip plot for this story. The playlist with each chapter was so much fun and the imagery was great. You can tell the author put a lot research and thought into this novel and it paid off. I felt like I was on the road trip with them and it made me want to get my own Silver Dildo and go on the road. I have to say I highlighted a lot of scenes and quotes so I can’t list them all but the nude beach and the trip to grandma’s were a few of my favorites. This book also had a lot of laugh out loud moments and the banter was awesome.

Well done Nicole Archer! I can’t wait to see who you plan on doing a book on next. Skip? Babs? Effie?......I will definitely be 1-clicking your next release.

Road-Tripped by Nicole Archer is a laugh out loud spicy rom/com filled with emotion. Picture this: two co-workers who dislike each other stuck in a RV for weeks traveling across the United States all for the sake of saving their boss's company. Callie Murphy can't stand Walker Rhodes, ending up on a forced road trip with Walker is about as much fun for her as getting a bikini wax over and over. Can these two survive this road trip for the sake of the company they work for or will the RV turn into an MMA octagon?

Eek this book was so much fun to read! When I read the blurb I knew I needed to read this story and soon. I did find the opening chapters a little rough for me - I'm thinking it was the way the story is told in third person and I found it a little jumbled and I couldn't tell who was who. Once these two get on the road it was smooth sailing and I couldn't put this story down! Nicole has a way with words that felt like some of my favorite rom/com authors and you'll become attached to these characters who want nothing more than to do what they love all the while falling for each other on the road. Road-Tripped is on par with Meghan Quinn & Helena Hunting novels with Nicole Archers own flair and I can't wait to see what else we'll receive from Nicole in novels to come. 4.5 glittered Chucks for Road-Tripped by Nicole Archers

It's rare to find a romantic comedy that's actually funny. And this one had me cracking up non-stop. Also, the steam, i.e. sex was hot and didn't take over the story like some of the more erotic romantic comedies. In other words, it was similar to real life sex. Not my sex life, but you know, dirty words happen during sex.

The main character Callie's filthy language, is hysterical, and sounds a lot like the women I know in person. The dialogue was spectacular, I actually felt like I was in a Road-Tripped movie.

I love that the hero, Walker, wasn't Mr. Perfect like most romances (though he was hot, funny, sexy, and had a big, ahem) and it made their relationship more realistic. Their conflict and miscommunication were entirely plausible as well.

One of my favorite characters was the boss of the agency, Skip. His relationship with Callie had me literally laughing out loud. You'll get that joke once you read the book.

Also, I play the soundtrack non stop. It was a great touch.

I can't wait to see what happens in the next book.

A MUST READ! The characters are amazing. The story is fresh. The writing is superb. This book is totally on my list as a forever favorite.

Callie has been dealt a bad hand and as a result has a negative attitude. She is currently working at her stoner best friends ad agency and is up to her eyeballs with his management skills and there isn't a co-worker she likes. Because she has no other choice and feels she owes it to her best friend, she agrees to help bail him out of the potential demise of his agency which puts her on a road trip with the playboy of the agency, Walker.

This book has laugh 'til you cry moments; together, with moments that make you wish you could do a group hug with all the characters. Archer's writing flows so seamlessly you totally become lost in the story. I wish I had contacts in show business because I would definitely recommend this as a series that I believe could go down in history as a comedy classic.

Callie is trying to start over at her friend's advertising agency after coming out of a bad situation. Her past has left her angry, bitter, and very withdrawn from everyone around her. When her friend/boss tells her she is going to be going on a road trip on a campaign for one of their clients with Walker and they have to pretend to be in a relationship, she is not thrilled. She thinks of him as the manwhore of the office. He always has women hanging all over him, and after what she's been through, she doesn't want anything to do with him. Walker isn't thrilled about being stuck in an RV with Callie either. They don't get off on the right foot at all, and continue to throw barbs at each other throughout the trip. Walker is tired of his job at the ad agency and wants to try to make it as a photographer as soon as the trip ends. As the trip continues, things become more and more volatile between them but the anger starts to turn into lust and they start to thaw a little towards each other. They both feel the chemistry between them, and decide to give in to it but they both have some emotional baggage to work through if they want to make it work between them, or not strangle each other before the road trip ends.

When I first started this one I was a little confused because the title on Goodreads called this a romantic comedy, and this was a lot deeper than that. Don't get me wrong, there were some pretty funny moments, but I found this much more angsty than I was expecting. Callie's emotional baggage is a huge obstacle in this story. She's just left an emotionally abusive situation with her ex fiance, had her bank account drained and belongings stolen by her twin sister who is a drug addict, and suffers from panic attacks. She's trying to completely start over and has formed an emotional wall around herself that keeps everyone out. There was a lot of banter between them but I wouldn't call a lot of it playful at first, most of it was biting and really cutting. They did have some funny interactions mixed in later tho.

Walker was the southern gentleman type, who tried his hardest not to even swear. He had his very ungentlemanly moments/comments but he also had the southern charm. With one smile, he could charm the pants off of anyone. Callie was very much the opposite. She had a very abrasive attitude and often picked fights. I felt for Callie's situation, but she was a hard character to like sometimes. She was just so mean and nasty almost all of the time. I liked Walker a bit more but at times I wanted to hit him too. These two were very frustrating! lol

I think this one was honestly just more of a case of "it's not you, it's me". I went into this one expecting a light-hearted comedy and got something completely different instead. While that's not necessarily a bad thing, it just wasn't what I was hoping for. There were also some unbelievable moments in this one as well that I thought took a little away from the story (office drinking parties, pot smoking and vulgar granny, swinger campers, etc.). I still thought there were some sweet moments between the two of them, and there was some great character growth on Callie's end.

"We don't make mistakes. We just have happy accidents."
~Bob Ross

When an author busts out my favorite quote in life, they've officially gained a new squealing fangirl.

Callie Murphy can't believe the ad agency she works for. There's a slide, for god's sake! Now she's been ordered to hop on a RoadStream RV, aka the Silver Dildo, with Walker Rhodes, the office manwhore and all around annoyingly sexy man. The beginning of the trip starts out rough – the two have less than nothing in common. But something about riding in a phallus on wheels makes the two of them become closer than they thought possible. With Callie's destructive relationship past, is there any way she can open up her heart again to the man she deserves?

HOW. MUCH. DO. I. LOVE. ROAD TRIPPED!?!? If you have any love of Americana, RV adventure, wicked banter between two people who hate each other but are insanely attracted or delectably hot sex, you MUST procure this book and enjoy immediately!

Callie's been through this epic breakup, moving from Chicago to take a job at her BFF's agency in NYC. She's surly and mean and nobody likes her all that much, and she couldn't give a shit. Yummy graphic designer Walker is adored by everyone, but mostly simpering women, which just annoys Callie to no end. She has no desire to be the proverbial notch, so she hides behind snark and attitude. Walker systematically breaks her down and shows her it's okay to laugh and play and just BE. The couple had chemistry out the wazoo, and I felt lucky to go on their journey with them as they tried to figure out what they meant to each other (without killing each other first). This is a really fun, funny and super sexy book that I'd recommend to fans of any genre!

Road-Tripped, the first book in the Ad Agency Series, by Nicole Archer is a contemporary romance surrounding the crashing and burning life of Callie Murphy. Having just gotten out of a terrible relationship, Callie finds herself working for her friend, Skip, at his ad agency in New York. Just when she thinks her life cannot get any worse, Skip assigns her to go on a cross-country road trip with her co-worker, Walker Rhodes, for a client. Callie has many preconceived notions about Walker, namely that she thinks he’s slept his way through every one of her female co-workers. However, Walker is not all he appears to be. Will being crammed together in an RV change Callie’s mind, or will she find her predictions hold truth?

Rarely do I find a contemporary romance that holds my attention, makes me laugh, and has me rooting for both heroine and hero. Road-Tripped did all three. Callie and Walker both had believable flaws, difficult pasts, and an undying passion for their respective arts. It broke my heart that both gave up their true calling to settle for jobs in an advertising agency. Even though their relationship is what I would call whirlwind, I could see how it could happen in a realistic sense. I also found Callie’s quirks endearing, as well as both characters’ silly romantic gestures. Miss Archer has a clever style of writing that allows a reader to really be drawn into the story. Road-Tripped by Nicole Archer is not a novel to be missed, and I eagerly look forward to the next book in the series!

I loved Road-Tripped. It was one of those books that I didn't want to put down. I stayed up late reading it and was cranky because of the lack of sleep in the morning but it was so worth it.

Callie and Walker work together at an Ad agency. For the agency's new RV client they are teamed up on a cross-country tour in a RV. The story is told in both Callie and Walker's POVs. I loved the dual POVs. Callie doesn't like Walker. To her he is the office man whore. Callie is a little spit fire and tell you like it is. I loved her. Walker is tried of his job and wants to get back to the passion of photography. He is sexy and charming. Callie thinks he's a man whore but when she tells people that they kind of brush it off. For a little bit I was wondering whether or not Walker a man whore.

There are funny parts, communications, and OMG moments in this story. As their trip moves on we get to learn more about Walker and Callie. I loved that we got to meet some of their friends and family along the way too. I will definitely pick up the next in the Ad Agency Series when it comes out.

4 "Off we go....to Hell in an RV." Stars

A good romantic comedy read is always good for the soul and Nicole Archer's take on the genre what just what I was craving. Her third person, witty, and intelligent writing style checked off all kinds of good boxes for me and my tastes. Reading through this book was a delight. I laughed out loud a lot throughout the duration of this story. It's amazingly funny - the comedy is what makes it really great. This author's knack for comedic timing and sometimes inappropriate humor is really fantastic.

I swooned over the hero, Walker Rhodes, the entire time. Archer's male lead was honest-to-goodness sexy perfection. I loved everything about his quirks, his innate charm, and his caring, kind heart. The female lead here, Callie Murphy, was obstinate and contrite but when she feels the reader feels right along with her. From her sorrows and grief to her laughter and joy. I will admit Callie got under my skin in an irritating way through parts of the middle. Some of her actions I started to find unsavory for her character but overall she charmed me in the end. These two head out on the trip of the lifetime - one to rediscover his passion and the other to make peace with her past and to sate her boss/friend. What they end up discovering are passions neither of them expected. And Walker Rhodes on a road trip.... oh yeah, you want to meet him and all his sexy and profound goodness.

If you're looking for a fast-paced, adventurous, romantic comedy then Road-Tripped will give you exactly what you need.

I loved this book! Road-Tripped by Nicole Archer is entertaining, hilarious, heartwarming, sexy and simply one heck of a fun-filled adventure! I devoured every page and like with all great books, I was sad to arrive at the end.
Ms. Archer has created two incredibly real and lovable characters. Callie Murphy is hard as nails and funny as hell. She reminds me of so many strong women I know and love. Walker Rhodes is an irresistible, dreamy hunk! If Callie wasn't so complicated romance would seem inevitable. But this book is so much more than a predictable romance because these characters are surprisingly smart and the adventure they take you on (in the silver dildo) is engaging and authentic. Love is not what either of these heroes are looking for. I couldn't wait to see what hilarity these two would get into at the next stop and what little glimpse of Americana they would treat me to.
Ms. Archer can write! She takes you across America with such ease and smarts and keeps you enthralled until the very end. And the playlist is super rad! I cannot wait for the next book in this series and I wonder who is going to play Walker when Hollywood catches Archer's scent.
