Will... The true definition of ‘Book Boyfriend’. He proves that with hard work, dedication and persistence you can achieve anything. I also admire Rachel’s will to succeed and the strength and courage she has to conquer the battles to get there. I am totally blown away at Lexi C Foss’ talent as a writer, and can’t wait to read more!

Will Mershano....

Will. Mershano......

If I left my review at that, I'm pretty sure you guys who have read it will readily agree that nothing more needs to be said in retrospect. I mean it's Will Mershano. Actually, let me try to up it a little. Will Mershano and a vineyard. Actually I bet I can do one better. Will Mershano, a vineyard and two wine glasses. But you know what would make that scenario absolute perfection? A naked Will Mershano, a vineyard and two wine glasses. With me as his love interest.

Sadly, that's not the case, well the me part anyway. No his love interest in this is the kind of uptight Rachel. Although, to be fair, I can't even hate her. She's the kind of woman who you want to hate but can't. Both of them together just fits. To quote Phoebe Buffay, she's his lobster and vice versa.

The Charmer's Gambit has a slight dark theme in it. Rachel has a past that she can't seem to escape. Wherever she turns and becomes even vaguely happy, it's always there waiting to pull her back down. Enter Will. He helps Rachel see that there is a way to escape, she just has to take a leap of faith.

I'm going to admit and say I think I prefer this story to that of The Prince's Game and I really loved that story. In TCG however I just felt it was more rugged and growly. Not to impugn that Evan wasn't a hard worker, he was. I just felt that Will was more of a manual labourer than Evan and it's a quality that I'm attracted to.

The storyline itself just popped. I had this mental image of me being there. I felt that I was dealing with these situations and feelings myself. It's a great thing when an author can make you believe that you're part of the story.

I really enjoyed reading this story and Will and Rachel's journey. I cannot wait to see where the author takes the next story.

This Charmer is book 2 in the Mershano Empire Series but can be read as a stand-alone. I don't want to give to much away but I have to say I loved this story and the characters. Lexi C Foss took this book to a whole new depth than book 1, The Prince's Game. The main characters of Charmer’s Gambit, Rachel and Will, were introduced in the Prince’s Game but this is their story. At first I thought this was going to be another typical rich dominate book, but quickly Will took that challenge and surprised me, just to prove me wrong. There's nothing predictable or ordinary about Will. I absolutely love him and put him on my book boyfriend list. Then there’s Rachel, she is strong and a smart woman, who goes through some very real life struggles.

The Charmer’s Gambit was the second book in the Mershano Empire series by Lexi Foss.

We met Will and Rachel in book one, The Prince’s Game. Will was Evan’s trusted cousin and the head of Mershano Wineries. Rachel was Sarah’s best friend and an attorney. They worked together on each of Evan and Sarah’s negotiated contracts. However, you don’t have to have read the first book to enjoy The Charmer’s Gambit.

Will was alpha dominant and used to getting what he wanted. Although flirty, what he wanted was Rachel to work for him on his new acquisitions. Rachel would not be manipulated and controlled by any man. She had a mysterious past and Foss hinted Rachel’s attitude spawned from a “been there, done that, and barely survived it” experience. None the less, Will was persistent and that’s where the storyline began.

The Charmer’s Gambit was well written, well developed, action packed and told from a single POV, Rachel’s. Foss began by setting the stage for Rachel and Will’s daily lives then began to reveal Rachel’s past secrets. For full disclosure, this could be a trigger for some.

I enjoyed both characters as well as the storyline. I also enjoyed the secondary characters - except for the antagonist of course. I preferred a different conclusion to the antagonist, but I’m hopeful, based on the bonus scene, that we’ll see more in a later book or series.

All in all, it was enjoyable, entertaining, fun, suspenseful and action packed. I’ve enjoyed the series thus far and can’t wait to read more. Additionally, a teaser was left for a potential spin off - please say yes - for an ABS Operatives series.

Holy Crap on a Cracker, this was SO GOOOOOD!!!

Evan was already a force to be reckoned with in book 1, and the Prince's game made for a really good start of this contemporary romance series but Will... It seems I'm preset to fall HARD for characters named Will haha because Will Mershano... le sigh << New fave book boyfriend! I already liked coming across Will and Rachel as supportive characters in book 1 and I was so excited to read their full length novel so the expectations were high. Lexi obliterated those expectations and I couldn't be happier about it.

The story-line is super fast paced and so enthralling and engaging. Loved it so much! It has suspense, angst, and as always a frigging perfect combination of amazingly written characters, a sexy and hot AF romance present as well as amazing writing. I won't ever get enough of Lexi's writing! It's addictive from the very first page and it gets even better and better as the story progresses. It's a one-sitting book is what this is!

And I also couldn't be more excited about what all is coming next *squeal* I really can't wait to read 'the devil's' story in book 3 but also can't wait to read about Mark because seriously: The set of characters in this series is just so magnificent. The main and supportive characters always leave me wanting more more more.

Safe to say that I'd recommend this book, this series, this author. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 beautiful stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This series is made up of interconnected books. They can easily be read as stand alone as well.
I'd reaaaaaaally recommend to getting yourselves aquatinted with the Mershano men.
You won't regret it for a single second, I promise! This is romance at its best!!

Awesome,Emotional,Heartfelt Love story at its very best,Lexi C Foss just gets better and better and is in my top five favourite Authors that i read. This has taken me a few days to write this review, as i wanted to make sure that i gave this book the best i could as this exceded all my expectations from the word go.From all the teasers and the Blurb i couldn't wait to get on this ride, and boy what a ride i was in for beleive you me.

What we got with Will Mershano was not your typical rich bad boy with attitude,oh no! instead what we got was so different, there was nothing ordinary or predicable about Will's character at all,he was Hot,funny and a honest gentleman through and through.Did i say that *he is MINE*,I fell hard for Will and his sexy as hell ways, very hard.

Rachel Dawson is a successful Lawyer that has met Will but keeps refusing to work for him in his winery company because of her past ex fiance and his stalker tendencies, that have just started up again after six months with no contact.Rachel does not reckon though on how persuasive Will can be as he is a buisness man that always gets what he wants and he wants to hire Rachel,so he has to approch her firm.

This is the last thing that Rachel wants, but it is a good oppertunity to further her career so she takes on this job to work with Will.I couldn't get enough of this book and how everything unfolded,it had me gripped through out with this story, with lots of 'Awww' moments and 'OMG' Moments that totally blew me away,i never wanted this to end.

The banter and chemistry between Will and Rachel was hot but you do get to see a vulnerablity side to Will that i fell in love with.Did i say *he is MINE*,just saying. This couple drew me in with how they were with each other, this was romance with some dominace thrown in that had me falling hard for this Sexy Hot Lovely Alpha male Will.

OMG there was some twists near the end that i didn't see coming that had me on the edge of my seat gripped to see how it all unfolded,i was shouting for these two beauiful characters to get there HEA.

There are just no words to discribe how Lexi got me totally hooked into Will and Rachel's story, she drew me in and never let me go until i had devoured this story of how love conquers all no matter what obsticles you have to fight to get there.Sheer Brilliance from a fabulous author,Lexi you excelled yourself,i say this after every book, but it is true,i love your writing.I now can't wait for Mark Kincaid and Garrett Wilkinson to enter my life.

I just finished The Chamer’s Gambit (Book #2) in the Mershano Empire Series and I give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ stars! I read it in under three hours because I couldn’t put it down. IT’S THAT GOOD! I’ve been waiting and longing for this book for over six months and now I’ve finally read it. I have to say it met all of my expectations and more. I loved the first book so I was afraid that this one would disappoint but it definitely didn’t. Will is now in my top 10 favorite book boyfriends! He just kept surprising me, so trust me when I say he is not your typical rish and dominant type! There’s so much more to Will. I won’t spoil anything for anyone but it’s an incredible story, one you won’t forget. I highly recommend it. The Charmer’s Gambit releases on December 5th🚨 GO PRE-ORDER IT NOW🚨

What can I say, I loved this book, it hooked me from the start.

The first book I read by Lexi C Foss was The Prince’s Game, the predessor to this and first in the Mershano series. I never thought I'd love a book about a reality TV show, but the author has such a fantastic writing style, it draws you in and holds you tight. When I realised The Charmers Gambit (which can be read as a standalone) was to be about Evan's cousin Will and Sarah's best friend Rachel, it was an absolute must read for me, as are all this authors books now.

Rachel, a dedicated, talented lawyer, is running from her past, but the past has a habit of catching up and threatens any form of peace or happiness. She has no room for men or relationships but when she meets Will Mershano whilst checking through a contract as a favour for her best friend, she starts to realise he is a man that won't be pushed away and won't give up on her no matter what.

I loved the banter between Will and Rachel, the story builds throughout as the chemistry between them heats up and the danger increases threatening them both. Will is powerful, rich and unrelenting, the kind of man Rachel is both attracted to and terrified of. Can she overcome the darkness of her past as it collides with the present and learn to trust the one man who wants the very best for her?

There are a lot of potential book boyfriends out there, but every now and then a very special one comes along with that something extra. I have to admit, Will has stolen a little piece of my heart. What a perfect mix of alpha, dominant, protective, caring, observant, gorgeous and sinfully hot sexiness he is.

I loved The Charmers Gambit, it was just fab and I am totally in love with Will. I loved Rachel too (but definitely not in the same way) they were well suited which resulted in a completely unputdownable book for me. Lexi C. Foss has an amazing talent for writing and I highly recommend this book. Five hot Will Mershano stars!!!

The Charmer's Gambit by Lexi C. Foss is book Two in the "Mershano Empire" series. This is the story of Will Mershano and Rachel Dawson. I haven't yet read the previous book but feel this can easily be a standalone book.
Rachel was helping her friend with a contract when she met Will who was also following up with his cousin part of the contract. Rachel had instant lust for Will but with her stalker ex Ryan, she knew she couldn't act on it. Will wanted her to become a part of his lawyer firm for the Winery he owns. But she won't agree due to her ex but Will approached the company she works for and so she ended up having to help his business. But while trying to fight her feeling for him she is also trying to protect her self from the abusive ex who won't stay out of her life.
Once I started reading this book I could not put it down. Loved it!

Rachel is a no-nonsense, dedicated and driven lawyer. She has a sharp wit and loves nothing more than to debate, even argues now and then. She has fought hard to get where she is, has a vision for her future, and the sexy as sin Will Mershano is not a part of it. Men are a complication she is not willing to entertain, not because she's not attracted because she would tap that in a heartbeat if it weren't for a very dark stain in her past. A stain that just won't go away, no matter how much she scrubs.

Will Mershano is a rare breed of man. Not afraid of hard work, and not letting his money be the thing that does the most talking for him. He is drawn to Rachel, her determination and oh so much more. He is suave and a true Southern Gentleman. Not willing to take no as an answer, for he is reading more her body language than just the words she says. A challenge he is willing to take on to get what he wants.

Though Rachel continues to refuse to work for Will, unwilling to work for him just because he seems to be attracted to her, when he makes an offer she just can't refuse she begrudgingly accepts. But will that dark past catch up with her? Will the attraction be enough to let her let her guard down enough to explore it? Or will the past come back to hurt not only Rachel, but Will as well?

The characters were so well developed and so real that I couldn't put the book down without a great deal of effort. I fell deeply in the feels for both. A lovely new story in the Mershano Empire series. I want more!!!

WOW!!! Will has definitely charmed my socks off (and anything else he would like to take off ;))

He is sexy, charming, intelligent, funny and has an alpha personality to get you excited.

He is also compassionate and more good looking than George Clooney.

Rachel is feisty, smart and has a past that makes you weep.

When that past catches up with her, she and Will combust in an intense story of love and passion.
Lexi C Foss has written another fabulous romance that leaves you in no doubt that Will and Rachel are meant to be together.

The secondary characters, new and old, leave you begging for the next story in The Mershano Empire series. I can't wait for the next instalment.

I received an ARC of The Charmer's Gambit and this is my honest review.

As you can see this is the second book in the Merchano Empire series. I didnt read the first one but it didnt take away from this story at all. In the first couple of pages it had me laughing at the banter between Will and Rachel. There might be some triggers in this story for people that have went through physical or emotional abuse (like me) but as I kept reading I saw how Rachel gained her strength back to being able to deal with her situation and come out on top. I really do enjoy a series that follows the characters and gives them their own story. This read has a little for everyone drama, mystery, love, "I dont think so" attitude and did I mention love? I cant wait to read more about these interesting characters in this family.

The Charmer’s Gambit by Lexi Foss is the second installment in her Mershano Empire series and let me just say that this book was AMAZING!!! Gambit focuses on Will and Rachel, who we met originally in the first book and their chemistry is off the charts from page one. The banter between these two characters had me laughing out loud more than once. The way that Foss writes makes her characters so loveable that I just couldn’t stay away. I was half in love with Will before the end of the 3rd chapter. I would love to give this book more than 5 stars it was that good. I couldn’t tear myself away from this book for anything, and was so sad when it was over. Foss is a new to me author, but I am now buying up every book that she has written to get my fix until the next one in this series drops.

The Charmers Gambit by Lexi Foss is a million stars or more!!
You can tell when you’re reading a good, no a great book when you open it up to start reading and then refuse to look away until the last page in case you miss something and this is one of those books, the characters are so relatable that when they are hurt, angry, sad or happy you feel all the emotions along with them.

Will Mershano is not your typical millionaire playboy, he’s built something from the ground up with his hard work and determination and not his family money, when he meets Rachel after doing a favour for his cousin he’s instantly attracted to her and not just her looks, he knows that she’s a great lawyer and wants her to work for him and won’t take no for an answer.

Rachel Dawson worked hard to become a lawyer and is great at her job but when Will comes along he starts to upset her well structured life. Rachel has demons that’s she fighting and doesn’t want to see anyone get hurt because of her but the closer she gets to Will and something resembling happiness the more her past comes knocking.
I loved this book so much and really wish I could wipe it from my memory so I can experience it all over again.

First of all I love Lexi's Foss's work and writing style. But this novel was amazing! I couldn't put it down.

The character development and story-line were very well done, I really enjoyed them. I loved the relationship and Will is definitely one of my favourite main male characters so far. You really respect his character when you learn about all of his struggles and how he built his business up on his own learning all of the in`s and outs and doing the hard labour The struggles were very real and you really felt for everything Will and especially Rachel went through. I highly recommend this book and author to anyone.

I can't wait to see what Lexi Foss has in store for us all next:)

The Charmer’s Gambit by Lexi C. Foss is Book 2 in the Mershano Empire and can be read as a stand-alone.

You know how you read about these alpha millionaire men who think they are so entitled and sit behind a desk all day pressuring women and working on their empire? Well this is NOT that story…

Will Mershano is man who could have starred in one of those old black and white movies where the females all swooned because the lead male was so charming (ohhhh, THAT’S why it’s titled what it is). He speaks several languages fluently, has impeccable business sense and knows exactly how his business is run because he’s not afraid to do the manual labor. Rachel Dawson is someone who knew exactly what she wanted in life and ever so slowly found herself bending to someone else’s ideals. Now as a corporate attorney on her way up the ladder, she is confident and strong, even when she has doubts. In college she studied law and French and when asked why French she said in case law didn’t work out, she could become a teacher. LOVE HER.

“I don’t require a babysitter, Mister Mershano.” “Oh, I’m well aware of what you require, Miss Dawson.” Can’t you feel the heat???

This story was sexy and romantic from beginning to end. The characters were all well-developed (even the mean ones), the story line flowed evenly and it had a clear beginning, a middle and an end. Will is patient and willing to take his time in the seduction department. Rachel is trying really hard to move on from her baggage. Both are fans of hard work and end results.

I read this story in one sitting, would absolutely recommend it to friends and can’t wait for the next installment in the series.

The Charmer's Gambit, by Lexi C. Foss, is the second installment in the Mershano Empire series. This author is an incredible writer. I have read the first book of this series, as well as, books from one of her other series and Lexi C. Foss is one of those authors that comes out of the gate ready to impress!! In The Charmer's Gambit the main characters are amazing and hot and obscenely insane - yes, I loved it!! The author had the perfect blend of everything in this story to make it flow effortlessly and truly addicting to the reader. The depth in the story was fine tuned and exquisite. This book will leave you breathless, barely hanging on to sanity as the story, the characters are outstanding through and through.

💖💖💖💖💖 Five beating hearts for Charmer's Gambit!
I have been patiently waiting for Will and Racheal's story and it was worth every minute -
Foss met and exceeded my every expectation!
Charmer's Gambit is packed with suspense, subterfuge, secrets, a sexy leading man, and a very sensual romance that will leave you wanting more of the Mershano empire.
I attempting this review without spoilers -
If you read Prince's Game then you know Will is our sexy resident playboy and Racheal is our take no prisoners, level-headed attorney and best friend to Sarah.
These two clash right from the start - their antics as well as the sexual tension produced between them is enough to light up the city of San Francisco!

Racheal does not date rich arrogant self-absorbed men - She once had a taste straight from that fountain and she has never been able to rid herself of the bitter taste - literally

Will - I can only say do not judge a book by his cover!

This story was filled with some surprises regarding both characters - some new characters were introduced and some plot twists were set in motion that have me questioning who is next in this little dance of chance
I really like the direction that Foss is taking the series and am looking forward to book 3
I read a complimentary copy of this book

I haven’t read the first in the series but it didn’t stop me from enjoying and devouring this book! Rachel is an incredibly strong woman and has bravery which even I don’t have. I admire her so much. The story itself is brilliant and the super steamy scenes had me squirming on the edge! I couldn’t get enough of this story and now I want to read the first one and all the ones that come after this. I can’t wait for Graham’s story!

This book was a blast. I love Will Mershano! Will defies being pigeonholed. He breaks through every preconception Rachel has of him. He is tenacious, patient and sexy as hell. Rachel is smart, driven and scared. But Will is determined to find out what Rachel is running from, fix it and make her his own. I believe he will do just that.
Although this is part of a series it can be read stand alone.

Wow, Lexi Foss never fails to blow my mind with her writing skiils. I sat down and read this book in one setting, it was so engrossing. I love Rachael and Will and their dynmaic, it is so intense and moving as well. You grow so attached to them and you really cheer for them, to overcome all the obstacles in their path. The strength and depth of these two leaves you stunned and amazed and wanting that kind of deep connection that they share.

Adult Romance

ARC provided for an honest review.

Just like The Prince’s Game by Lexi C Foss, I LOVED this book!

What a fun and captivating read!

I really enjoyed the first Mershano Empire book, The Prince’s Game. (I highly suggest reading The Prince’s Game first but it’s not required). It reminded me of The Selection by Kiera Cass with a twist of “game show/reality TV” thrown in. It was fun, fresh and unique…like THIS book. This book, The Charmer’s Gambit, follows secondary characters from TPG, Rachel, a sassy and determined lawyer and Will, a sexy and persistent CEO of the Mershano Vineyards.

I loved Rachel as the lead in this book because she smart, driven and relatable. She has worked hard to be where she is at and continues working hard to be where she wants to go with her future. She doesn’t have time for a relationship, especially one with the tempting man who will NOT leave her alone. She is apprehensive to try a new relationship because her past one left her scarred and feeling like she needs to look over her shoulder. She has good reason to. When her past comes looking for her, she has to decide…fall into the arms of a powerful and sexy man or run.

Will, Will, Will. Will is a smart and confident man who knows what he wants, when he wants it. When his sight falls on Rachel…he wants her. He has a dominant personality with gentlemanly manners all wrapped up into a sexy as hell package. YUM!

My favorite parts of this story are watching Rachel and Will grow as individuals and watching them interact with each other. The chemistry is on point, keeping me engaged throughout the book. I loved banter/interactions! So sexy, steamy, awkward and fun!

This story is so much more than just a great romance. There are twists and turns that will keep you guessing and at the edge of your seat.

Hot chemistry….and a strong and sexy lawyer being pursued by a sexy and persistent millionaire!? SO GOOD!

I love, love, love this book! Couldn't put it down for a second! Will is so incredibly sweet and sexy and yeah. You get it. Rachel has a problem, more than one. Problem one, a sexy as sin winery owner demanding her attention. Problem two, a crazy stalker ex. Problem three, she's developing feeling for this sexy as sin winery owner. Everything about this story drew me in. I hadn't read the previous book (which I will) but I didn't feel lost at all. It also didn't give a novella on what happened to other characters still part of the story. It was about Rachel and Will and some great side characters. Will is my new book boyfriend, I claim him. He's so freaking sweet and determined to have Rachel. Throughout the first half he woos her, though she doesn't take much notice in it until a bit later. Rachel has a pretty good head on her shoulders and after escaping her ex once she's still left with a few emotional scars. Will seems to help heal her and make her stronger. She grew in the book, a good bit. She stopped letting her thoughts get in the way and opened up a new world with Will. I love them together, they both have a drive and confidence that makes them absolutely perfect for each other. Will may come off a bit cocky at first but you fall in love with him pretty quickly. I can't wait to read more from this author and I'm so impatiently waiting for Mark's story!!!!

Ahhh, Will Mershano.
I could leave my review there, and that would say everything about how I felt about our hero, but that would be short-changing this wonderful novel that I absolutely devoured in one sitting.
Will is a tenacious wine-merchant millionaire who has his sights set on uptight lawyer, Rachel. But unlike a lot of guys who'd barrel in there and probably ruin their chances to win the girl, Will plays the long game. And my goodness, the clever begger, he ends up with Rachel eating out of his hand and chasing him!
But Rachel has a secret, an ex who still thinks she's his. He's creepy, he's rotten to the core, he's no blooming Will Mershano that's for sure!
Slowly, Will teases from Rachel the real person beneath the veneer she's carefully constructed, and my goodness, I love him for it.
I don't want to say too much more as that would spoil the plot, but this book gave me all the feels. And even though it's in a series, you don't have to have read the prequel (The Prince's Game) to enjoy it. However, do go and read that first book, because it's a really great read.
But for me, The Charmer's Gambit is a step up. It's wonderful. Grab yours now. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Charmers Gambit by Lexi C. Foss is the second book in her Mershano Empire series. Already one of my top authors I was excited to jump into another series.

Rachel is very much in control. Of her career, of her life and of who she spends her time with. With secrets in her past that still threaten her future she knows that she has to keep hold of that control in order to have any semblance of a life.
When she meets Will, the charming cheeky millionaire she knows she could be at risk of falling for him. But doing so could mean more trouble than she knows how to deal with.

This was another absolute winner from a fantastic author. Although second in the series you do not need to have read the first book to enjoy this - however I will definitely be going back and reading what I have missed.
The chemistry between the two characters was amazingly well done - believable and enthralling from page one. The story was well written and engaging. I couldn’t put this book down at all. Completely different from the previous series I had read by the same author this book highlights the talent Lexi has for writing across different genres. Another amazing read.

This is the first book that I've read by Lexi C. Foss, and her brilliant writing style has me in all kinds of addictive love with her! I'm not going to go over a description since there's already a blurb, & the twists & turns were intense enough to keep me on the edge of my seat, with heart racing & f-bombs dropping. And that is a formula for spoiler douchery if I try to hint at things. Plus, I'm just a humble reader/blogger trying to do it justice without messing up the fantastic goodness. The hero, Will Mershano, is a drool worthy alpha to keep the blood pumping, while the heroine, Rachel, is a successful, no holds barred, independent woman. But together, they lit up the sky with fireworks when the sexy times ignited. And the entertaining cast of secondaries have me very intrigued, as I came to the Mershano Empire party fashionably late. But I will not lie, I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT WAIT for Kincaid to come out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
