We are a small and friendly team of robotics engineers at the Science & Technology Facilities Council (
http://stfc.ac.uk) and we are designing a cool new product for robotics and other applications like home automation.
What we're working on is a generalised controller board with a lot of features integrated into a very small package. The board has all the functionality to drive a small robot without the need of peripherals or wiring. It is aimed at the experienced user to enable them to make their robots more efficient and more functional. It can also be used for other applications.
We're designing the board to be as small as possible. Here is our prototype, which is 5 x 5 cm, and our test robot:
