Dozers and Slapstick at the Cat Power Parade 73

Came across this short archive clip from Caterpillar recently and thought I would pop it on the blog for all to see.

Dozers and Slapstick at the Cat Power Parade 73
I really enjoy these archive clips from the Caterpillar Inc You Tube account, the only downside being they are so short if you blink you miss them! However, there are plenty of them to enjoy if you have time to kill and its always great to look back on the great yellow iron produced by Caterpillar back in the day. Power Parade events which are held in Marquette Heights, Illinois celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2014 and whichever way you look at it, that’s a lot of demonstrations over the years. These events have seen some hugely significant Caterpillar product launches over the years and a lot of fun along the way too. In this clip from the 1973 Power Parade we see two products from the tracked type tractor range, the then top of the range D9G and the companies smallest model the D3 demonstrating dozing capabilities from both end of the scale, they are then joined by Toby the Clown and his D1/2 for a bit of slapstick amusement from that era! Enjoy the video.
Having recently attended the stunning "Night of the Challenger" launch event for the new range of Cat excavators, its clear to see that things have come a long way since these kind of demonstration events, but whichever way you look at it, Cat demo shows are always exciting to attend!
