The behaviour of a group of Chinese tourists has been heavily criticised after a video surfaced showing them frantically using plates as shovels to gather food at a hotel buffet in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
The dish of choice was prawns, with one woman taking four full plates, while others were left to pick at the seafood with their hands.
It seems the tourist's eyes may have been bigger then their stomachs, subsequent photos showing a large portion of the food was wasted.

One Facebook user said that this was much like a typical Chinese buffet restaurant.
'Chinese people need to be taught basic mannerism, so greedy about everything and rude,' he said.
Even some Chinese natives were appalled by the buffet brawl, but were quick to defend the behaviour.

'It is so humiliating! Not all Chinese people act this way. I have to say that most of the mainland Chinese no longer behave like this,' a Chinese woman wrote.
But others weren't so forgiving.
'So disgusted to watch this kind of behavior...this is what happens when parents don't teach their kids basic etiquette. They grow up to be....gosh no word to describe,' another user commented.
