SO MUCH GIMME!!!!! Pretty packages can have very ugly insides, lesson #98,623.

Buddy-read with The Fabulous Ginger commencing Monday, February 15th... because nothing says good riddance to Valentine's Day quite like reading about banging a musician with a biblical name ;)

UGH, this book was a fucking disaster for me!!

1 get-thee-to-anger-management Star

Saving Abel is the story of a pierced and tattooed “alpha” rocker with issues. His love interest/submissive/moronic partner is Gia (a girl who should be sympathetic for me, but isn’t.)

Well, hello Gia, you remind me of:

(This may be a spoiler, if you know the movie. However, it’s a pretty early on spoiler)

Initially that wasn’t a problem, because I actually like that movie, however Jason Lee’s character is much more likable than Abel Gunner. Which he shouldn't be because I love musicians, tattoos AND piercings. However, excessive jealousy and possessiveness......

I don’t know about you guys and ghouls but possessiveness is a complete turn-off to me. I do not believe in ownership between partners. I have neither the desire nor the temperment to allow another to even entertain the idea of possessing me. I am a free being with freewill and if ANYONE tried to behave in a manner which exuded possessive traits I would hightail it so fast.

If you were to believe the BDSM trope of the genre, or the snippets I have read thus far, you would think that D/s, BDSM and kink play in general directly opposed my belief system. You would be incorrect. I am so fucking tired of the way this is portrayed; it is neither safe nor healthy, especially not when the Dominant has blatant anger management issues. I don’t know that I need to explain how terrifying it is to put your safety into the hands of someone who has difficulty controlling their anger and aggression. It is a Dominant’s job to maintain control, to protect their submissive from unwanted pain or discomfit.

I understand that for most people books like this, with over the top “alpha” male types, are a form of escapism and I can appreciate that. Unfortunately for me it has the opposite effect. It’s too real for me, it terrifies me in the places of my mind and heart that remember what it is like to have a boy, who claimed to love me, sneer in my face and inform me that I would ALWAYS be HIS. And I’m not going to go into how much these stories make my skin crawl in the memory-pots of my brain because I know it’s supposed to be mindless and fun to read and I don’t want to be overly depressing reviewing such a book. I will simply say that relationships like the one portrayed in Saving Abel make me decidedly uncomfortable.

This book ... phew ... sorry still catching my breath ... that was unexpected and totally welcome! What an Alpha fueled, BDSM, Rock-extravaganza ... Saving Abel is a breath of fresh air in a genre that was starting to go stale. I get so sick to death of reading the same story over and over about Alpha Dom's who go soft the second their submissive to be comes into the picture. Rest assured, Abel Gunner is not that kind of Alpha, there's nothing soft about this Dom!

Abel Gunner is the lead singer for Lethal Abel, a hardcore rock band that has just gone Platinum. With Platinum status comes privilege and high expectations ... not that any of this is new to silver spoon born Abel. But with expectations comes eyes everywhere watching the whole band, not just Abel. So when a jealous ex-submissive comes out of the woodwork to expose Abel's proclivities behind closed doors, Abel's father and band's lawyer, gets right on the hunt to take Morgana down. Does Abel care about being careful, hell no, it's his life and he'll lead it however he wants. And the beast inside him wants Gia Mastro.

Gia Mastro is Abel's father's new Secretary. She's got a secret though that not even her best friend Cindy knows. Gia has a past. She was a child of abuse, physically and mentally, still is in a lot of ways. Medusa (as Gia refers to her mother) is a real bitch fest piece of work for sure. So, Gia has set her sites on Abel Gunner to further both of their station in life ... Her mother has a pile of medical bills and is accustomed to a life she can no longer afford to live after her last Sugar Daddy left them both high and dry. Naturally Gia gets to know Abel and vice versa, and their worlds are irrevocably altered.

Now, don't let the sappy romantic part of our story fool you, this is anything but a hearts and flowers, BDSM style romance. I'm not going to give the whole story away and tell you how it ends because you'll feel like the world has tumbled out from under your feet when it ends. This story is raw, it's heart breaking, it's beautiful and exhilarating! You'll feel like you're going 100 mph furiously flipping those pages. I couldn't read fast enough, I devoured half of the book in one evening but alas two small children had worn me out and forced me to sleep.

The BDSM action is ON FIRE! Chapter ONE ladies ... oh wait till you read it. My girl parts are tingling just thinking about it. This is why I chose to read Adult novels. Gina Whitney doesn't skimp on the sex scenes. Yes, Abel is a Rocker BDSM Sex God but he's so so much more than that! He's got piercings and tattoos in places we don't usually read about ladies ... and when Gia and Abel get going you'll be doing a little jig in your seat just thinking about the positions and wishing to the sex gods that you could have that kind of sex life. Oh if we could all find a little Abel in our significant others, life would be so much more interesting, don't ya think!? The last thing I'll mention ... and there are numerous things I could rattle on about for days ... but the lyrics sprinkled throughout the story (see playlist attached to this review) add a whole extra blanket of emotion to the story. I highly recommend checking out the band, Our Last Night (Gina's inspiration for Lethal Abel). Their cover of Dark Horse (made popular by Katy Perry) and Stay (originally by Rihanna) will change your life! Go pick up a copy of Saving Abel and make a liar out of me, I dare ya! Pick up your copy today and get ready for October 20th when Forgiving Gia (Rocker #2) comes out ... it's gonna be one electrifying and wild ride!

BR with Karly!!

February-ish

I promise I did not intentionally hate read this book.
This was my first BR with the lovely Karly (her review here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... ). We were seduced by sexy cover and the promise of hot rock star sex.

This is what we got:
WARNING: Raging, gifs and spoilers galore.

So chick (Gia) has her friend get her a job at this firm because the boss' son is hot and in a band.
Her whole goal is to get in his pants and in his pent house.
A little background on this character is that she hates her mom because she is a high class leach. Pot meet kettle - to use the words of Gia herself.

Tattooed wonder sees chick and decides within seconds that he wants in her pants. One of his band members hits on her first so now it is a competition.
This just keeps getting better

Wonder bimbo's friend is invited by band mate to go to some concert they are starring in and of course they go all decked out in their finest floss.
Drinks are had, 'eye fucking' commences and soon they end up at some swank club.

Pause here for a sec.
They are both disastrously rude to the waitress. I don't give a rat's ass if she is a groupie, she is a person, and the way they both treat her is disgusting.
But they have reasons!
Him: because she is just some groupie and they bounce back anyway
Chick: rude because obviously the waitress is a slut...again Pot meet Kettle.

Soon they are are doin' the down and dirty in the hot tub room/thing at the club.
Yeah. Where is this club? Don't think about it too much.

Here we have his 'Dom' side come out. You get air quotes because: they make no D/s agreement and yet he ends up spanking her until she is "sobbing" (word that is used in the book!)
But WAIT!
It is OK!
Because she is wet so she must LIKE it right? RIGHT?!

I almost threw my phone across the room.
Deep breath.
So he gets mad for reasons that just ...... it doesn't even matter.
So she manipulates one of his 'bodyguards' into taking her to his HOUSE after she texts him from 'bodyguards' phone to make sure he is home :/
Then she talks the door guy into letting her into the building.
STALKER!
She APOLOGIZES to HIM!!

Sweetie the douche left you at the bar drunk. Kick him to the curb.
I wanted him to reject her apology. I just knew that if that happened she was going to pull a lock of his hair out of her bra and then cut him to pieces because -----> crazy stalker.

Anyway.

Of course that didn't happen. It was the whole I am damaged, you are damaged we will fix each other and love our damaged selves. Blah. Blah. Blah.

I hated both the characters. They need to go ride his ridiculous Harly (named Slut....seriously) off a cliff.

The sexy times were good until the spanking then I was just disgusted and skimmed the rest of the book.

The first thing I would like to say is that I started reading this book because of the interesting blurb, high ratings, and good reviews. Even now it has over 4 stars and 900 ratings.

Unfortunately, here ends the fantasy of an even remotely decently written... book, for the lack of a better word.

description

I will first begin by justifying myself and pointing out that I am NOT an occasional reader. I - to my parents' great resignation - read like some people drink water - or vodka if you happen to be Russian. Quite diversely on top of that, so there are close to 0% chances of me being mistaken on the overall level and value of a good book (or so I would like to believe, but hey, let's be honest here, everything is subjective). I might not like a certain book for example, but I am aware of the differences between an excellent book that I did not like for some reason and a shitty stack of papers that are a magnificent insult to the written word in any language.

I have started writing this review with the desire of being as neutral as possible, despite my given rating.

I am very sorry, but I simply can not uphold that anymore.

description

I would also first like to point out that I would have very much liked to give this book more than 1 tiny star, but I simply couldn't. For the sex scenes and Abel if nothing else. But the woman - Gia - was so dumb and stupid and dumb that I couldn't read past the second chapter. No, really. I couldn't read past the second chapter, and this comes from a person who doesn't put a book down until she reaches the last page and then also feels compelled to read the next ones in the series because that's how her brain and her book mania work.

description

That poor excuse of a representative of the female sex was not only embarrassingly stupid, but she also had a foul mouth. Mind you, I don't usually care much since I had my fair share of prolonged hearings consisting of pretty original spontaneous curses, but the missus here was in a category of her own.

In a bad way.

I couldn't quite figure out if she had a brain in her head or just straw that was set on a single function: sex with Abel.

In fact, I hated her so much from the very first second (this rarely happens) that I had to write this review of 2 chapters on my phone, with no light, a dying battery, all while hiding under the pillow so nobody would suspect that I am still awake in the wee hours of the morning (sorry beforehand for all the mistakes - it's a damn small touchscreen).

Miss Gia as she adamantly insisted on being called when she first met Abel, simply had to have this new job just so she could meet him and then have sex with him. At all costs. Because this is all that counts when getting a job. To get people to give you the job so you could fuck your employer's hot rockstar son. Because you know... getting a job to pay the bills slash rent is overrated. Oh, and did I mention that the only thing this... woman (oh god, I feel like I'm insulting my own sex) thought about was sex?

And then more sex (DUH!). Which always ended up with... yes, you've guessed it, sex. I have no idea how anybody could have looked at this woman and wanted more from her than the average use as a blow-up doll.

description

None.

If I were a guy and somehow met with such a specimen, I honestly think I would just see her as a warm, available body for a quick one night stand (and a mediocre one at best). Probably with the clothes partially on, and only because I needed to scratch an itch. Wham bam, thank you, mam and that's it. And they say guys think with their dicks. After reading these 2 chapters, I felt the atrocious need to go and universally apologize to every person that has a "y" chromosome for ever thinking such a thing.

It was without a sliver of doubt, simply that bad. My only regret is that now I will have to eternally wonder if this book actually has a plot. As in... if it's not a continuous sex scene with someone so dumb, fake, slutty and stupid that Abel would have been better off with a crack whore from some obscure hole in Somalia.

Although I don't think I'll have to overthink this issue too much. It's a bit too obvious.

I'm so glad Gia doesn't exist. I have no intention of ever doing prison time for gruesome murder combined with atrocious torture and this adorable missus might have just given me plenty of reasons - all in under 5 minutes of meeting her exalted person.

Let it not be misunderstood that I was offended to this degree because "Miss Gia" here is not a character that fits my parameters of how a female character should be portrayed. This is incorrect. I hated this book on every level, to the point that I couldn't even enjoy reading the sex scene because she was involved and Abel was OK with it and with her as more than just a nameless face.

If you have managed the God-worthy feat of finishing this book, I beg you, please, please, please let me know of the conclusion in the comment section. You are most welcome to denigrate that creature while doing so and making me very happy at the same time.

I am now out.

So out.

Eroticism at its BEST!

I absolutely love this story! I love that Abel is open and honest with who is and what he wants no game playing here ladies. Gia is a woman who thinks she knows what she wants, right now she knows she wants Abel. But I am not sure of her motives yet as I started my review early. But I will let you know below. The sex in this book is amazingly HOT (cold showers will be needed)!! And how cool is it that this author put links in so you can check out this band OLN….umm..…wow where have I been they are amazing! Music and books go hand in hand. The story flows perfectly and the pace is perfect to.

So yes Gia's motives do seem rather suspicious but I think you will discover that she really does care for him. I really feel bad for Gia right now. What will happen between her and Abel? Morgana......grrrr great name haha! Ugh she annoys me but I am more annoyed with Abel right now. Why is he even listening to her? Gia’s mother is a real piece of work. I hope Gia will stand up to her and tell her how she really feels. These two grew up in households where one was abusive the other neglected. I feel for both of them.

I really hope you give this book a chance I will recommend this book to anyone!! LOVED! Now you left me hanging *sighs. But I am looking forward to more of these two!

"Gia, put your damn hands above your head or I will tie you to the bed."

Looking directly into my soul, he smiled wickedly, he kissed me deeply. Arrogant prick.Yeah, he knew he was the best ride in town. Fuck me.

"Babe, take your clothes off. I want to see what's mine."

"Are you going to be good, Beauty?"

"Are you serious right now? What could I possibly do? Get on with it already," she grinned. My little minx liked being tied up. Nice.

This has been one of the most intense books I've ever read, I had anxiety while reading it, in a good way. Able was seriously hot and completely alpha, no doubt about it. The only other time I remember feeling like this was while reading Slade by Victoria Ashley, where Slade our main guy was a dirty talking hot piece of stripper ass. Yep a stripper, trying to catch the one that refuses to give it up to him. Anyway, I had the same feeling while reading both of these books.

Saving Able really stands out to me because he's so intense, you really have to be aware of what you do and say around him or else he'll blow up. It's nice to have a guy that is low-key, but Able is the kind of guy that will fight for your honor. I like that in a character, you can also push his buttons just to see what happens, and it would be a hell of a lot of fun trying to make Able jealous. Ha, it wouldn't take long for him to break someone's jaw, I'd feel bad for the other guy. I also like characters like him because they're hard to find. I like that he has so much emotion, which is not common these days.

"He's an alpha, doll. He's always broody and pissed off even when he's smiling. Nature of the beast and all that jazz."

"I would never hurt you, ever. You're more precious to me than you will ever know."

Damn, I seriously want to quote the entire book but I can't so it's hard to choose which ones to share.

I didn't like Gia too much, but that's expected because of the way that she is, you could tell from the blurb that you might not like her. You might not even be supposed to like her. She does have redeeming qualities; she wants to do better and prove herself worthy. So that's good, that's why I don't completely hate her.

I could not get enough of this book, I loved it and highly recommend it. One of the best books I've read this year and definitely a new favorite. I know I said 5 stars but it's to infinity and beyond full of stars!

I can't wait for the next one!

Forgiving Gia Rocker Series # 2

Expected Publication: October 20, 2014

It doesn't even have a cover yet & I don't care. I need this book like yesterday!

Abel Gunner is a rock-star with legendary skills both in and out of the bedroom. He swore he wouldn't fall for another woman after being schemed and manipulated by an ex-lover. He kept that vow until he met Gia Mastro. The Dom inside of him awoke the moment he set eyes upon the submissive beauty. His dark soul hungered for her submission and affection. The deep connection they share leaves him desperate for something he never expected – her love. Her pain brings him the pleasure he craves. Her smile calms the beast that rages within him. Gia loves Abel more than life itself, but Abel is disillusioned by love and wrecks Gia in the process. Her life hangs in the balance. His life depends on forgiving her. This couple must face many truths. Is love enough to overcome the damage that dwells within? Gia’s experiences with love have been nil until meeting the infamous bad-boy rocker, Abel Gunner. Swept up in a mind-bending, Dom/submissive love affair, she’s forced to make decisions that both help and hurt their relationship. They both have to face their demons before they can embrace a future together. In the end, they’re faced with two choices: Fight for their love, or die with their demons.

Move over boys, there is a new sexy rock star in town. ABEL. He's into control, submission and fucking. Did I mentioned, he's a Dom??!! Fucked up, tattooed, pierced, brooding and 100% male alpha!! Abel is the epitome of a rock star. He oozes sex appeal and has the ladies screaming. He plays by his own rules and follows his own BDSM lifestyle. Screw whoever doesn't like it, including his high brow family. He does what he wants, when he wants. He thinks, he has every thing he needs, sex, drugs and rock and roll.... never wanting or needing a relationship. Until he meets a spit fire named Gia. She rocks his world. She's gorgeous, smart and fun. She will make the perfect Sub. They are totally drawn to one another. Craving each other more and more. Their appetite for one another is insatiable. Together they are combustible. Warning: Hold onto your panties!!

Gia appears to well put together. But Abel isn't the only one who is fucked up... She is too! She just hides it better. Putting on her mask, but underneath, she is in turmoil. She is in a constant Internal battle between right and wrong. One thing she has in common with Abel is they both have had sad childhoods. Never feeling nurtured or loved. Gia's mother is one evil bitch. Her plans for Gia are cold and calculated. Never wanting happiness for her daughter. Only caring about herself. Will Gia finally escape her and get love she deserves???

There is another seriously evil bitch in the mix. Morgana, Abel's ex-sub. She causes all sorts of trouble and will stop at nothing to get him back. Morgana made me want to beat my kindle!

With so many forces against them, can Abel and Gia sustain their relationsips?

As the story evolves, you see that underneath the tatooes and filthy mouth of Abel is a sensitive, attentive, romantic man. Abel surprised me with his tenderness. He put Gia needs above his own. Slowly he changed for the better..... The boy stole my heart!

There are many attributed in this book. One of which is the band, Lethal Abel. I loved all the band mates. Each has their own unique and ostentatious personality. Adding lots of humorous entertainment throughout. Another standout in the entertainment department is Gia's best friend, Cindy. I love her. These two girls are true friends and are hilarious together.

I was completely enamored by this book from the beginning. But the last 25% had me going till the bitter end. I hope Gina keeps the crazy momentum up in the next book!! I look forward more Abel, Gia and the band....
This is my second 5 star read from Gina Whitney. I also gave 5 stars to Beautiful Lies. She has become of my favorite authors.

Ahh... what can I say, but holy Shiitake mushrooms, Batman! I loved this book. I loved it, hated it, then I loved it again... then I hated it again because of that "Good gravy, Marie" ending. Sheesh! But I find myself love LOVING the book overall and I cannot wait until the second one. **hint, hint, hint, Gina**

My review is really our review, me and the hubs. The hubby wants to wait until the whole story is finished, but I've got some stuff to say about how delicious the story was. No spoilers, I promise.

I've read most of the other reviews and as I don't want to repeat the blurb that tells you what the book is about, I'll just share, in as few short words as possible, what the story spoke to me.

Abel, rock star and Dom, and beautiful, yet secretive Gia, are people that have jagged edges and uneven surfaces, as most of us have, although maybe not in the same ways. In a much more complicated manner than I'll go into here, they found the balm to their souls in each other. We see both of them moving forward, growing into two people that are perfectly designed for one another. Yeah, the sex is off the chain hot, hot HOT! But, the beautiful thing is the way they fell so deeply in love with each other.

There's the vile and atrocious ex, Morgana... I seriously have a hate/hate relationship going on with that chick, wondering how loud she'd scream if I pushed her off a cliff. Then there's Gia's mother from hell, Medusa. There are no words that I can use without being censored to express my great and all-consuming hatred for her and my deep desire to see her burn in hell. Yeah, I love them that much! NOT! They're both pure, unadulterated evil to the point that even the devil himself hates them both and... well, you'll just have to read it yourself. But you're going to be praying a hell, fire and brimstone kind of Karma comes down on those two in the sequel. That's for sure!

**A teeny, tiny SPOILER** (Sorry, I just couldn't help myself.)
The ending broke my heart, but I could see it coming. It wasn't a disappointed type of "oh, well, I guessed that ending, so why did I waste my time reading it" kind of ending. No, it drove me to the point of having this clawing hope that Gia would trust their love enough to confess all her sins and her mother issues/problems sooner. But she didn't. God. But then if she had, my heart wouldn't be bleeding right now with the "gimme, gimme, gimme, Gina" I've got screaming through my brain for the sequel. Gah!! **whispering** Seriously, chica, I need that next book. K? Thanks.

Now, stop reading and one click this baby. You will NOT regret it. I give it 5 "oh my freaking gawd, that was sooo hot" stars!!

Oh my freaking god, this book was un-freaking-believable!!! I found myself lost in this book and just couldn't and wouldn't put it down.

I totally loved Abel and Gia -- talk about a hot as hell couple. I mean....seriously, this book was nothing but sexy and hot, hot, hot!!!

Abel is a sex god (literally) and every woman wanted him -- with that raspy voice of his and his hot damn good looks -- who wouldn't want him right! The chemistry between them was off the charts since the moment they laid eyes on each other. Gia's intentions were to hook up with Abel and that's why she started working at his dad's firm. She knew she had to get her claws on that beautiful god of a man.

Abel is the type of guy who f*cks them and leaves them especially after what he's going through with his ex Morgana. He doesn't want to end up in another situation like that. But unfortunately for him, when he meets Gia he is enthralled with her beauty and he knows he just has to have her.

I've read some sexy rocker books recently but hot damn, this one takes the crown for me. I have to say this book was totally my kind of book. I loved, loved Abel's dirty mouth.

Gina, you nailed this one with all those sexy steamy sex scenes in this book. I mean, my freaking underwear were soaked from reading this book!

If you like reading about sexy alpha rock stars, then this is the book for you. There is a lot of adult content so if you can't handle getting your panties wet, then this isn't the book for you ;)

I totally LOVED this book and I give it 5 stars!!!! I'm diving into Forgiving Gia now and will let you all know what my thoughts are on it. If I loved Saving Abel, I have a feeling that I'm going to love Forgiving Gia.

This just wasn't for me. You'd think the rock star /Dom combo would be a slam dunk, but not so much. I didn't really like the hero or heroine. I found them annoying more times than not - although in the end I didn't really know much of anything about them at all - except that they really really liked having sex with each other. They were flat and unappealing. The secondary characters didn't add much to the story, and I really could even discern a real plot

Then there was the insta-obsession turn love, lots of unprotected sex, unnecessary drama.

Not my bag.

Gina Whitney has done it again, I love her writing but Saving Abel has a whole new feel from her other books. There's so much drama unfolding, never a dull moment. This book is the hottest book of 2014 by far! Abel is one hot alpha that will have the ladies screaming for more. The cliffhanger leaves you breathless, I really wanted to throw something, I need more Abel like yesterday!! This is one series I can't get enough of. The characters are hilarious, love the environment and connection that was created. If I had to choose a favorite character it would have to be Ender hands down! He is such a ladies man, sexy and latin...mmmm. Id def take him home. Gotta love Gia though she's fighting her own demons but trying to handle being the sub of a dom rock star, who has his own demons to battle. I wont say more, I dont want to leave any spoilers but I will say if you want a hot read, I def recommend Saving Abel, because it doesnt get too much hotter than this!!

Wow. That’s all I can say about the steamy and very descriptive sex scenes! Abel is up there on my favorite sexy, hot, alpha male list. Sex scenes can make or break a book and these scenes definitely made this book. Not only the sex scenes but the storyline was original too. Sadly, I would have given this 5 stars but the execution of the story was what held me back. Let me explain…

Abel is in a band and is a “Dom” as well as a hot, piereced, tattooed, brooding, sex f*cking machine. I felt myself sweating a few times reading a couple of the sex scenes. He takes charge in the bedroom and has a filthy mouth and I loved every second. He has recently been in the spotlight for more than his band, due to his ex-sub blabbing about his sexual preferences. His father who happens to be an attorney is trying to put a lid on her big mouth and keep his son’s secret’s safe. While at his Dad’s office he meets his Dad’s new assistant Gia and instantly there are fireworks.

Here is one of the places where the storyline kinda fell apart for me. You only get bits and pieces of Gia. Not only Gia but how her relationship with Abel begins?? It felt like it just skipped ahead and I missed something. Also a character is Gia’s mother who is talked about and we meet who is evidentally sick, on her last leg and clearly the spawn of Satan. Gia clearly has had a less than stellar childhood and is still being her mother’s emotional punching bag as a grown woman. I wish the author had given us more background of what the relationship was and what was going on. I felt at times like I had skipped over pages unintentionally due to the lack of facts and it left me scratching my head on more than occasion. Thank god for the sex scenes. They made me forget that I felt like I skipped pages and had no clue what was going on…lol.

Needless to say there is some sort of a scam being done here on Abel with Gia and her evil bitch of a mother and Abel finds out about it and it crushes him. Are you confused by that description? Well, so am I…you don’t get much more of an answer than what I just told you…That was what was frustrating about the book!!! Meanwhile after Abel finds out what has been going on, will he be able to listen to Gia’s explanation and forgive her? Well, Im hoping we will find out in the next book…
I gotta say the storyline was definitely not something I have read and I think if it had been thought out more it would have been an epic book. It had the bones, just not enough meat. The ending had me wanting more and I can’t wait for the next book comes out to see how it all plays out! Definitely worth a read!

This was my first read by Gina Whitney and I am certainly a Fan now,

Saving Abel is a book about the lead singer of the rock band Lethal Abel, Abel is a hot tattooed DOM he is the total Alpha male who needs to be in control through all aspects of his life both on and off the stage and in and out of the bedroom. Abel is a tortured and dark soul and he keeps his emotions out of his relationships.

Then we have Gia who was brought up under the shadow of a physically and mentally abusive mother AKA Medussa, Gia has been groomed to believe that it's right to play men to receive the lifestyle that her mother has always been accustomed too

This brings us to how Gia and Abel meet. Gia works for Abel's Dad and this is not a coincidence and all is not as it seems as Gia has a game plan, Gia is just a puppet on strings though with Medussa as the puppet master.

When Abel and Gia meet Abel is also going through a hard time due to Morganna. Morganna is Abel's psycho ex-sub who has sold him out but is never going to let anyone else have him without a fight,

There is a instant spark between Abel and Gia and Gia's game plan falls away as she develops strong feelings towards the troubled rocker. Abel is also shocked by the depth of his attraction and how powerfully he is drawn to Gia and he starts to heal as his love for Gia changes him and his perspective. These two need to have each other and be near each other and it doesn't matter where they are or who's around,

This is a hot BDSM romance with some incredibly written sex scenes that will leave you needing a cold shower!!!! Behind all of that though there is also a really deep love story and connection

The story has some twists and turns and is not a smooth ride, the book ends in a dramatic and shocking fashion and will leave you jumping up to read book 2 instantly.

I loved Gina's writing and how she makes the characters speak to you and draws you in to keep those pages turning.

Gina also provided the book with very strong side characters and leaves you wanting to know more about them too, for me I especially loved the friendship between Cindy and Gia, Cindy knows Gia is hiding stuff but doesn't push and loves her unconditionally, I loved the chemistry between woody and Cindy and just outright adored Chase.

I recommend this book as a must read and I will leave you with that as I have to get to reading book 2 (forgiving Gia) because I HAVE to know what happens next for these two.

My personal history: I have a big thing for a few bands. I tend to purge shows of artists I like...such as AFI and 30 seconds to mars by street teaming and being interactive with their clubs and management. This really made it easy to relate to this book...being quite the fan girl myself in real life. Therefore this was right up my ally!

Now on for Gina Whitney's book: Saving Abel
This was an instafreebie in exchange for review, but one I would gladly pay for and hope there are more of this series to follow.

Ever had a crush on a entertainer? How about one that is a kinky sob that is rugged, brooding, possessive and yet passionate? So much passion that he doesn't even know what to do with himself? Well, that is Abel! After meeting Gia, it's that spark from one soul to another that recognizes it's match of existence. It is your typical boy meets girl, must possess girl, must spank and sexually dominate girl...and of course, love just follows.

Gia knew Abel was a "mark". For whatever reason, her Mother has emotionally blackmailed her into going after Abel to obtain his fortune to keep her dead weighted mother in her middle class means of aging luxury. Gia decides that she isn't going to follow through with any sort of "mark" on Abel because lets face it..he's hot, powerful, has money and his career is soring to new heights...what's not to love? Who wouldn't want that over money?

However, Abel's ex sub can't handle that Abel has moved on and she refuses to let go, unleashing information that could devastate the relationship of Abel and Gia. It seems it worked. I hope we find out in the future that this is not the case...and that we can have that renewed feeling that "love will always find a way". I'm totally cheering for them and I look forward to any subsequent books regarding these characters. I will be following Gina Whitney's works moving forward. Good job!

Well, with a book that starts at 100mph what could possibly go wrong!!! Be warned though, you will need a fan right from the start because this is one steamy read.

Do you like your books about rock bands? Yes, then this is for you!

Do you like your books to have BDSM? Yes again, then this book is definitely for you!!

I couldn't get enough of Abel and Gia's story and apart from the painful cliffie at the end, this book rocked my world.

Abel has a darkness to him and Gia has her sights set on him but neither expect to fall in love. Abel has his demons to battle but Gia has her mother to battle and a mother that will do everything and anything to make money from rich and successful men using her daughter as collateral.

Gia knows that she needs to escape from her mother's clutches though and able could be the man to save her, if only she could explain her abusive background to him, especially before someone else does.

The story covers all of the band members and their fractious but loyal relationship. From Ender, who loves nothing better than to wind Abel up, to Woody, who Gia's friend is enjoying the pleasure of, and who I need more from.

This book was well written, fast paced and is definitely one that I will read again, and again, I freakin loved it and Abel is definitely stuck inside my mind!!! I can't wait for Forgiving Gia!!!!

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review

Ok STOP WHATEVER YOU ARE DOING AND BUY THIS BOOK!!!!

I will say it has a cliffhanger of an ending but still this was an OUTSTANDING STORY!!!

Abel is a sinfully sexy rock star! He is raw and hardcore. He isn't shy about what he wants or how he wants it. And when he meets Gia, he wants her. He wants her bent over, ass in the air and at his mercy. He is an ALPHA. He is a DOM and he wants Gia to submit to him. This is how he has always been it is in his DNA.

Gia works as a secretary at a law firm. And her boss is non-other than Mr. Gunner as in Abel Gunners father. Gia has a secret though. And no one, not even her best friend Cindy knows what she has to do. Gia has a vial mother and what she wants she will get no mater what pain it causes Gia. Gia is supposed to get Abel. Get him in her bed and make him hers. But what Gia doesn't except is to fall for the rocker.

Can these two make things work between them or will Gia's secret come out and hurt them both? Is Gia strong enough to stand up to her mother?

This book took my breath away. I was left speechless. I wanted to throw my iPad across the damn room. I want Abel to make me his sub!! I would and will recommend this book to EVERYONE!!!

Saving Abel by Gina Whitney
*was given a copy in exchange for an honest review

SAVING ABEL by Gina Whitney is one heck of a sexy read but unfortunately sex is the only “meat” of the story. I was so excited after reading the synopsis and have been waiting on pins and needles to get my hands on it. The story itself is an interesting idea and one that I really like, the problem is that the story is under developed. I really felt like I was reading a beta that needed lots of work and I think if given more time, the story could have been developed into a GREAT work.

I love the Alpha of Abel and Gia , even though a submissive, has a mouth on her at times and a backbone. The writing is really good and the sex scenes are downright ALPHA male, dirty and fun. The problem is the underdeveloped story. Although all the parts are there, so much has been left out and I really needed more and yes, there is a HUGE cliffhanger, which I have to say, was done really well and leaves me wanting more. Like I said… I think SAVING ABEL just needs a little more “meat” and it would be a fantastic read.

SAVING ABEL by Gina Whitney receives 3 out of 5 Platypires!!

Abel Gunner, a hot tattooed, pierced, muscular rockstar is everything I picture as my type of Dom. Gunner’s actions behind closed doors are kept a secret, but his ex, Morgana, is threatening to release the information. Abel has never truly been in love, but can Gia make him come back to life and get that heart pumping?

Gia Mastro, an employee of Gunner ESQ, was hiding a secret, a twisted painful secret. She was hired at Abel’s dad’s business with two things in mind, seduction and heartbreak. Can she follow through with the plans her mother has given her?

“Medusa” and Morgana are the evil villains in this book and man, oh man, did I want to slit their throats. Without them though who would be trying to ruin Abel and Gia’s life? That’s right, no one. There is nothing better than a crazy mother and psycho jealous ex.

This is the first book of Gina’s I have read and I can tell you it won’t be the last. The hot words of a Dom, the heartbreaking ending, and the girl that gets put in a situation she didn’t want to be in, makes Saving Abel a 5 star read for me. I cannot wait to see what happens in the next story. Write on Gina and write fast.

Holy Smokes Abel......

What can I say about this book. I thought this was gonna be your typical rock star meets girl falls in love story.....Nope it was so much more then that. I had a hard time getting my house work done. I kept wanting to take a break to read a chapter but had to tell myself house work first read after. I knew I could not just read one chapter and put it back down to clean some more. I went back and forth on weather to buy this book or not so with that being said I'm so glad I did. I would defiantly recommend this book. Bring on Forgiving Gia the next book. I cannot wait to see how things turn out

Gina Whitney didn't hook me into this book in the first chapter, it was more like the first sentence. From the start, Saving Abel is scorching hot read that keeps you wanting more with every turn of the page. I have a huge addiction to rock stars, and Saving Abel made me feel as if I knew one personally, and had a secret key to his bedroom and his heart. The characters are flawed, and real, and lovable. I've been left desperately wanting book 2 now. Do yourself a favor, and get lost in Abel Gunner.

Wow! This book blew me away! Gia is a grifter pulled into the life by her mother and sets her sights on Abel, who is a famous rocker. The sex is off the charts. I kept yelling at Gia to just come clean. Even though I shouldn't have liked Gia, I really did. But, Abel, OMG...Hot, hot, hot... Warning: This book does end in a cliffhanger so be ready to plunge right into the next book.

5 "Come to mama" Stars!

I am so giddy at this moment! Abel Gunner has made it on my top list of ALPHA~EXTREMES! Going to add him to my man candy jar! Yeah, hmmm, I need a shelf for that! Ok, this was awesome! A Dom rocker, enough said!

Oh Gia. She's on a mission to land the famous singer for self cause. Now saying that... I read an updated status thread by others reading it, and they DNF it because of the "attaining him for college funds" if that person would have hung in there, it wasn't about that, she was done. It did start out as a challenge though. Gia was raised by a mother that can be labeled an ice queen. Gia puts on a façade for everyone, she thinks she is just as bad as her mother and she has no worth.

Abel's upbringing is just as cold, at least it appears that way. He has went threw plenty of women, you know the rocker way of life but when he meets Gia in his fathers office, (whom she works for, part of the plan) he wants her in his bed. Typical? Yes but hell if I didn't care! So that's where the fun begins!

Abel introduces her to a world of Dom/Sub and oh my gosh, he is hot enough to set the pages on fire! His cock is tatted and adorned with jewelry! A Jacobs ladder I would love to climb and stay there forever. Don't forget the Apadravya! I want to simply curl up on his lap and pur!

Maybe his cock deserved its own zip code? This was a locale I wanted to move to-like now.

All is well until Morgana Jennings. Abel's ex. She's been a pain from the get go, causing scenes with the media. She doesn't understand the word no. Gia being tough, taking no crap, at least on the outside yet on the inside she is suffering from some insecurity, feeling she can't compete with the beauty. Gia doesn't think she fits in Abel's world. He feels differently.

He has no idea what originally brought Gia to him. In the mean time his ex has been conspiring and hell bent on winning him back.

Ladies this guy is all out ALPHA, he will give you clit~zing! Hardly ever do I come across a hard core dirty alpha like this and Gina has pleased me well! While I do love a good story and my husband ;D I need my nasty dirty book boys too! He fit the bill!

This ends in a cliffy that made me want to slam my kindle! I am beyond estatic to move onto more Lethal Abel.

Abel..... Abel....Abel. I don't think there is a man who knows what to do like he does. This man is a perfection of steel Alpha. A man that comes in your dreams, a dream that you wish never ever f***ing ends. Strong arms, lean ripped abs, tats here there every where and some accessories.... all for pleasure!! Pleasure should be his middle name, I don't think I've loved a character as much as him! Never been jealous of a character that he touches and pleasures like this before. He will do things to you and there is never going back all you want is more and more!

So yes this is how I felt every second of reading Saving Abel! Gina Whitney is by far in my top five authors. She doesn't play around! Her characters are brought out in the real, deep emotion is felt through them. Gia is my most favorite female character, she is who everyone women wants to be.. she doesn't take sh**, you don't like her then go fu** off, she doesn't have time for anyone's crap. Having a past like hers, you got to be that way. She's on a mission... and nothing is gonna step in her way!

Abel.. sweet omgnesss Abel... Just hearing his name gives me goose bumps. Okay I have to focus!! From the beginning you get a feel for this man. He's all tough and demanding, he wants what he wants. A rocker, caveman, don't fu** with me or you'll be sorry, type of guy. But there is something else there and only one person can make you get a glimpse. He likes what he likes, needs what he needs. Desires are hungered for. Frustrations need to be released! How Gina writes these scenes are tantalizing memorizing...you can't clench tight enough.. definitely do not read this out in public!!!

With all this going on... people are jealous, people have control, people have underlying intentions. Will all these change things... how could all these stop happening before a total bomb goes off? Will Gia and Abel be able to escape in time?

This book blew away 5 stars for me, this being said this is a must absolutely, definitely must freaking read!! This is one story I will reread over and over! I cant get enough! Abel has shown me the rocker world and I'm a lover. Gina I can't thank you enough for writing this for us. You rock... your writing shows your perfectly deep passion for writing, your my inspiration! Keep it going girl, I know its about to get real( not like it hasn't already!) can not wait for the next book!!

"I never believed in fate, destiny, or love at first sight before. I can tell you 100% certainty I've never felt so utterly fu**ing consumed by a women in my life. You take the air from my lungs with your smile, leaving me breathless. I feel I'd suffocate without you in my life. I want to bury my secrets in your skin. I cherish your kisses, savoring each one." ~Abel

Love him!!!

"God, where did you come from? You're the sweetest nightmare I could ever conjure up." ~ Gia

Saving Abel was an enthralling story from start to finish. I couldn't put this book down once I started. It completely hooked me. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough, because each chapter left me wanting more. The POVs switched between Abel and Gia, and that made the book even better. Both Gia and Abel are completely broken in different yet alike ways. It was nice to get inside both of their heads to see what was going on. The world-building was well crafted. With Gina's writing, I was able to picture everything going on in the story. I felt as if I was right there with the characters.

Abel and Gia grew so much by the end of the story. They both realized they needed to battle their demons. I was really rooting for them. The only thing that I wish I got to see more of was their connection on a deeper level. I really wanted to see them get to know each other and watch their relationship grow from that. Gia and Abel fell in love with each other, but it felt a little rushed. It didn't take from the story though. I just wanted something to be deeper between them. There wasn't a character in Saving Abel that I didn't like, except Morgana. I really wanted to wring her neck. The band mates were awesome. I loved how they had each others backs no matter what.

Gia got a job working for Abel's father in hopes of meeting Abel to better herself. It was all about the money at first, and I really didn't like Gia because of that. But as the story progressed, I learned that it really wasn't Gia's fault. When she meets Abel, a sizzling connection happens between them. It was just flat out hot. Gia does whatever she can to keep Abel's attention. The more time she spends with him, Gia realizes that Abel isn't the guy she thought he was. Abel also had a rough upbringing. He never had the closeness, comfort and love from anyone therefore had to be in control at all times. He became a DOM. He wanted who was his to completely submit to him. And the person he wanted was Gia. The more time he spent with her, he started to feel things he never felt before. Gia became his, and boy did he turn into a caveman alpha male. By gosh, I loved that about him!!!! Gia and Abel really need each other to pull them out of the abyss in which they sunk. But with people trying to sabotage their relationship, will they be able to pull themselves out or sink into an even darker abyss than what they started?

Saving Abel was a beautifully written story that I will definitely be reading. And wowzers. There is a huge, huge cliffhanger at the end of this book that definitely left me wanting more. Gina did a fantastic job with that. I kept trying to turn the page wishing that there was something else after it, but no luck. I can't wait to get my hands on Forgiving Gia!!! I highly recommend this book!!!

I think we’re all broken a little bit. In some way or another. Whether it was in our childhood or at some other time in life, we’ve all sustained some kind of horrendous enough heartbreak that it leaves an irreparable crack in who we are. The choice is whether you allow that crack to fuel you or drain you. Whether you choose to embrace that crack or whether you choose to deny it.

This book is about that choice. Over and over and over again the characters are forced to choose which way to go, which way to turn and how to respond. Having their backs continually against a wall, being pushed like that to confront and react and challenge and accept turns this story from what might have been a predictable bad boy, BDSM infused, romance, into a balls to the wall, surprising, gorgeous and heartbreaking tale of love and love withdrawn.

Abel Gunner is a rock star. He was born with a silver spoon in his mouth and has used that extra leverage to embrace all of his cracks and make them work for him. He is brash. He is a walking, talking thunderclap. He is kind and honest and patient.

Gia Maratos is just trying to find her way. She was born to a manipulative shrew of a woman and has been trying to figure out how to get away for the majority of her life. She is incredibly strong. She is sassy and funny and smart.

Gia gets drawn into Abel’s orbit right from the very beginning and he sees in her something he’s never seen before. She keeps showing up, she meets his eye and yet when it matters most, she is willing to give him everything. And in return, he uses the full force of his being to take care of her. Watching the two of them come together is like watching a lightning storm – a bit unpredictable with the potential for extreme damage, but always gorgeous and always coursing, pure energy.

Gina Whitney has written a tidal wave of a book. It starts out relatively calm, you can feel some tension in the air, but mostly the waters are smooth. And slowly it builds and builds until suddenly you’re staring up at a giant fucking wall of water threatening to crush you and all you can do is look upon it in awe and think about the ride that is coming. It’s insanity. Amazing, beautiful, completely worth it, insanity.

I expected this book to be a lot of fun. I expected it to be sexy as hell. I expected to read it, enjoy it and move on. I did NOT expect to be heartbroken. I did NOT expect to be screaming. I did NOT expect to fall in love with Abel and Gia as much as they were falling in love with each other. I did NOT expect to need to stalk the author relentlessly until the next book comes out.

And yet. All of that, both expected and unexpected, is exactly what happened.

I seriously feel like I had to have read a different book than most people that reviewed Saving Abel. Seriously.

Gia is the so called 'heroine' who falls madly in love after throwing herself at Abel and deeming that she needs to sleep with him to get herself into a 'better life'. She's instantly OBSESSED with him, over the top possessiveness for someone she doesn't even know except that he is FAMOUS. Fast forward, or is it rewind, I couldn't keep track of the timeline because it was all over the place. Needless to say when they go out the day after they first meet (or was this after a week of him bringing her coffee, but not talking to her or if he did we didn't get any of that) they have unprotected sex in the back of a club, which apparently has a grotto, which is just way out there to me, but sure I'll go with that part. Inside he disappears for a 'long time' so she goes dancing and ends up grinding on another band member (oops cause all men apparently feel the same) when Abel gets upset she compares it to finding her brother, who was 12, dead in the bathroom after hanging himself. Yes, because this shows right there that this entire book is way to far out there. I've lost a family member to suicide and their relationship is no where near something that tragic. Oh and let's not forget that she's not ready to be a mother, oh but maybe if it is by the rockstar. Gold digger, much?

Let's look at our 'DOM' who falls insta-love with Gia while also in the middle of a slander case with his ex girlfriend who is going to show the 'vanilla media' that he is into kinky sex. Sounds like the PERFECT time to hit on the secretary and have sex on an outdoor spa area with her the second time you meet her, even if there is security standing nearby.

Everything about this book let me down. Synopsis was great, teasers sexy... book, failed. The dom wasn't even a dom. He was a mushy teenage girl in love. One minute he loves her, the next minute he's jealous, the next he wants nothing to do with her because it makes him pussy whipped. All over the place.

Such a let down. Filled with sex, more sex and more sex and not even that well written of sex scenes.
