Is there a way to prevent users from changing Preferences > General > Homepage?

Thank you.

Dear andyBall,

Is there any way to unlock the safari homepage-setting?

My problem was that my homepage was "hijacked" (I guess) and was permanently changed to some unknown search-site. Then i used your code in Terminal and changes it back to Google. But I am wondering if there's any chance to unlock it?

I've attached a screenshot of the preferences on Safari on my Mac (It's in Danish by the way).

I hope you, or someone else, could be of any help.

Thanks!User uploaded file

Thank you for your reply, but I maybe did not explain exactly what I need.

I have to setup a managed account, and I would prevent users from changing Safari's homepage and proxy settings.

While I could lock the proxy settings, I could not figure out how to lock this preference. I contacted Apple support, but they told me it is not a feature. I wonder if there's some third-party extension or plug in or anything else.

Thank you all

Server is not required to use WGM.

Cancel the connect dialogue, press Command D (Server menu - View Directories), dismiss any warnings about local conifg not beiing visible... (you may get another later)

Click the padlock top right & authenticate as an admin; select a user from the left pane; click 'preferences' at the top of the WGM window.
