Paul Wyatt was invited by the Royal Society of Literature (the RSL) to make a short film about their work over 2014 and 2015 . The RSL’s principle requirement was for a film which would nod towards the society’s 200 year past but would also bring the society right up to date by showing their progressive educational work.

The society’s outreach programme was highlighted with a visit with former poet laureate Sir Andrew Motion to George Green’s school in London’s East End. Novelist Kamila Shamsie also held a masterclass on “writing the unfamiliar” for new authors at Somerset House.
Novelists Philip Pullman, Hilary Mantel and biographer Sir Michael Holroyd also feature in the film alongside RSL president Colin Thubron.
