During the NorCal Regionals 2018 top 8 stream for Street Fighter 5: Arcade Edition, Capcom relayed through the commentary team of Tasty Steve and Sajam, that balance changes would be coming to the game on April 3, 2018, in just a few day's time.

The commentary duo noted that although this is April 1st — it was not an April Fool's joke — and that fans should stay tuned for new alterations to the roster.

These balance changes will impact every single character in the game, all the current 30 fighters available to play.

Capcom said in an update, several hours before they announced the balance changes on stream that the game would be undergoing six hours of server maintenance, on April 3rd, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time.

Early signs point to this being legit information, as Capcom has started to release small details and hints through various channels. An official announcement is expected very, very soon. There's reportedly a special emphasis being placed on Crush Counter changes, but the actual notes, along with developer thoughts, should be available within a couple of hours.

Season 2.5 balance change notes came out on March 15, 2017. The actual Season 2.5 patch dropped on May 31, 2017, after a number of delays, due to CFN upgrades and other issues.
