Mexican Village Restaurant

My boyfriend took me here Saturday night for a nice night out ! I have never been here. It was a very nice establishment. I ordered two ground beef tacos and a strawberry margarita while he ordered a coke with the super nachos. Surprisingly the order came out very quickly considering how busy they were! It is good authentic Mexican food ! The tacos were huge ! I barely finished my second one. The margarita was spot on. The super nachos were RIDICULOUSLY huge. He had to take half of it home with him it was so much! You will never leave this place hungry! Plus they do bring fresh chips and salsa to the table as needed !

HORRIBLE can't even begin to define how bad the food is here! My friend ordered a Mexican platter and it looked like everything came directly from a gas station! Actually, I feel like the gas station food may have tasted better. The drinks were pretty good and strong. The waitress was really nice. The QUESO was horrible! The enchiladas were horrible! They put sliced AMERICAN cheese on my enchilada, like the type that you would put on grilled cheese sandwich... I was baffled to see that come out on a plate. I feel like I would have been more satisfied going to Taco Bell.

Fast forward to the next day, my stomach was literally turning the whole day!

The ambiance is okay, nothing special. I would never go back here to eat...

I would give this place a solid 1.5/5 and that's only because of the waitress and the drinks.

Still a gem! There was a little down turn around the Covid eta, but things have been much better! Just very thankful they came through that time, it was so rough for restaurants. The great vibe and energy have returned. Service has been great and so very friendly and welcoming! The crowds are back and the place is a lot of fun!

The food has been delicious! Large and tasty portions! They give lots of salsa and chips. Their salsa is house made and they have both spicy and mild. I highly recommend the large botona and the fajitas!! There is truly something for everyone! The margs are on point as well! Really very much enjoy this local restaurant and it is great to see it thriving!

Lastnight was so nice. Good food, good vibes, friendly fast service. My steak was cooked perfectly. My party of 12 really enjoyed theirselves

Ate here for the first time in several years and I thought to myself this place used to be better! Is that true or have I since then have tried other places that are better?
Either way, I'd give them a 3.5 but I'm rounding up to a 4.
There's nothing special about this restaurant TBH.
The chips and salsa are average (too small of a bowl tho), my a la carte items were good but not drool worthy, my friend did really like his enchiladas and my other friend liked his botana. I do have to say their margaritas were pretty good tho! The service was decent too. This is not the place I'd die to come back to but it's good enough!

Great food! The fried ice cream was amazing. 2 close parking lots. The building has a lot of character. The staff was attentive and helpful. Will be back.

When I think Mexicantown, I think Mexican Village! Great food, service and experience in Detroit! Complimentary chips and salsa, wonderful margaritas with different flavors and a menu full of Mexican delights!

Zero stars they don't listen first I called in my order get there a guy in front of me named George. She gives him my order then has to run outside to catch him to get my food back. That was ridiculous. I ordered all ground beef, tacos, and a burrito, well I stated no tomatoes and no chunky beef. That's why I asked for ground beef -call to speak to some incompetent wannabe so-called manager, Laura but claims she can't do nothing for the meal tonight because she doesn't have a lot of authority and expects me to call back tomorrow to speak to a daytime manager-!! Mind you I ordered the food for dinner tonight !!! But because of incompetence of individuals I have to go through CALLING tomorrow and take the Food all the way back downtown !! Individuals not from the United States can barely understand what they're saying !!!!! Laura didn't even have the courtesy to apologize she started getting back argumentative another reason why if you're not from the United States you shouldn't be here - trying to support their business and their customer service is horrible so I will never be back here ever again!!!

First time in Mexican Village and this spot is booming!! I just got an open table and I'm right in the center of all the customers. We are packed in this eatery shoulder to shoulder and I love the vibe.
The wait staff was over promptly and my drink was served.
This frozen Strawberry Margarita was killin it with a dab of whipped cream!
One drink was enough for me to be a little tipsy. It was perfect. YUMM
The chips and salsa were fresh and plentiful! More, please!!
I ordered the chicken cheese enchiladas.
This delicious comfort food is rolled up and placed in a row smothered in mouth-watering melting fresh cheese. Oohhhhh....I can smell the enchiladas as the plate was placed in front of me and my eyes were tasting this perfect grub!
Coming in hot and fresh on the metal dish. While that cools did I mention the rice?? OMG....by far the best rice for this dish I have ever had. I could have just eaten a big bowl of rice as a meal.

Kudos to the manager and staff who run this eatery so effectively and effortlessly. Customers in and out, great food and staff!!

Yummy drinks! We sat at the bar and the service was great. They are very friendly and fast here. I'd highly recommend them. Go for the margaritas and while you're there make sure to get a botana.

We went on a Sunday and it was not too crowded. The other folks at the bar were funny and friendly. It's not too loud, so you can definitely meet up here and enjoy your companion. A good time was had by all!
