It will be a very happy Christmas for the mystery winner of Saturday night's €11.3m Lotto jackpot.

The lucky holder of the winningquick pick ticket is in line to get their huge payout in time for Christmas.

The ticket was sold in a Spar shop at the Top Service filling station on Dublin's Amiens Street.

Assistant manager of the Spar, Craig Madden, said he didn't know who had won - but it had been hectic in his shop ever since.

"The phone has been mad all day, there's a good buzz in the shop, there's people coming in to get their tickets checked. The regulars that weren't in yesterday that didn't buy tickets are having a bit of craic as well inside," he said.

"I'm not getting much work done. People like routine, so anyone that didn't buy it yesterday will be kicking themselves now."

The jackpot was the largest since January.

The numbers drawn were 2, 6, 21, 23, 29, 44 and the bonus number was 41. It was a quick pick selection, and the ticket was bought on the day of the draw.

Neither the Lotto Plus 1 or Lotto Plus 2 draws had a jackpot winner.

John Hillis (27) and Avril Gilligan (26) from the North Strand Road get petrol every once in a while from the Spar, but never normally play the Lotto. However, they said they'll think twice about it now that a winner was 'so close to home'.

"If we won, we would go travelling and buy loads of property around the world, especially coming into the cold weather," they said.
