IMPORTANT NOTES

Since Android 6 Marshmallow the new Doze mode for energy saving may block My Volume event services and scheduled profiles. If it happens with your device you can put My Volume in Doze whitelist to avoid it's blocked (please see FAQ below for further details).

Since Android 5 Lollipop the Do Not Disturb mode is available. My Volume scheduled profiles can respect or override the DND mode (see comply with do not disturb mode setting for details). Please note some devices may go in Do Not Disturb mode when you select SILENT or 0% profiles.

Some devices have an option to link/unlink certain volume levels (system, ring and notification) and if you want to manage them separately go to SOUND SETTINGS and disable the linking. Please note not all devices have that option.

Moreover, some other device has a fastboot option that, if enabled, may interfere with My Volume event services and scheduled profiles. If it happens please disable fastboot.

Every Android since release 2 showed very different behavior regarding audio settings, for example on some Lollipop device no sound will be emitted even if you set to yes the sliders play sound while changing setting.

Please don't give us a bad rating/review for issues not fault of My Volume.

OVERVIEW

volume profile = a predefined or custom set of volume levels

My Volume is an audio manager for volume levels and normal/vibrate/silent mode of your Android device.

With My Volume you can easily adjust a specific volume by dragging its slider or you can choose a volume profile changing all levels with a single click.

And My Volume can apply automatically a profile at reboot and shutdown of your device or while it's charging or when fully charged or schedule a profile at specific times: you will never miss a phone call or notification because your volume is low/off and you will never be disturbed by a loud sound because your volume is too high.
Another common case is you have a business meeting lasting a certain time and you want to mute your device only for that duration and avoid to forget to manually reactivate it when the meeting finishes, then My Volume can apply a volume profile after a specified time interval is past since you activated a muting profile (0%, vibrate, silent).

Furthermore, with My Volume you can set your ringtones (ring, notification and alarm) directly from its main interface, you can create volume profile shortcuts for your home screen, notification icon can remain persistent for a quick volume access, and levels can be locked to avoid accidental volume changes.

OPERATIONAL MODES

My Volume has an easy to use interface showing six sliders (system, ring, notification, voice call, media and alarm) that you can drag to adjust those volumes. The status bar indicates the current ringer mode. The other buttons are described below.

MAIN ACTIONS

If you tap menu icon (three squares on the title bar) a sliding menu will allow you the following actions:

Donate/In-app shows the donations and the items you can buy with in-app purchase to support the development. Please note donations do not unlock extra features nor remove ads. They are just donations ("A donation is money or other thing given typically for charitable purposes and/or to benefit a cause").

Sound settings opens standard Android sound management.

Create shortcuts allows to create volume profile shortcuts for your device home screen.

Settings is where you can configure many aspects of My Volume like appearence theme, profiles to apply at specific events, profiles scheduler and so on (see SETTINGS EXPLAINED section later).

   Help the information you're reading.

More apps all the applications developed by us.

Feedback opens your email client and sets a message which you can fill and send us with your suggestions, requests, bug segnalations and so on.

About/History shows information about My Volume and lists all changes since its first version.

Exit terminates My Volume and removes it from memory (you can exit also by pressing back key twice).

More actions are available with the buttons:

(Locker) locks (and unlocks) volume sliders to avoid unwanted changes, useful to scroll sliders if they do not fit into your device screen. Please note this feature IS NOT TO BLOCK Android or other apps to modify volumes.

    (Ringer) alternates between normal/vibrate/silent modes.

Volume profiles allows you to change all levels with a single click (user profile 1, 2 and 3 are modifiable and you can rename them, see SAVE button below).

Save stores current volume levels and ringer mode into one of three available user profiles (initially those are named user profile 1, 2 and 3 but during save operation you can assign a new name). You can then recall a saved user profile by clicking Volume profiles list or even schedule it in SETTINGS.

FAQ (FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS)

Here there are several common questions asked by users (and our answers!):
  • My antivirus claims My Volume is a virus/malware! What should I do?

My Volume is NOT a virus/malware. It has been downloaded thousands and thousands of times and passed all Google Play checks and Play Protect. Consider also antivirus software is not perfect and sometimes its alerts are just a false positive (read more here). Please add My Volume to whitelist/safelist of your antivirus to avoid malfunction. However, you can uninstall My Volume if you feel better or much secure! But please don't leave negative comments/review because you will damage developers, we can't do anything to remove false positives.

  • I've found My Volume on alternative sites, is it safe to download and install from there?

Absolutely NOT. The only official source for My Volume is Google Play app store (see previous question too). By downloading unofficial/unauthorized/hacked/cracked copies of My Volume you expose yourself and your device to malicious code, virus, malware and other dangerous things. Moreover, the only way to receive official My Volume updates is by Google Play.

  • On my device I noticed My Volume event services (unmuting, boot, shutdown, battery) and scheduled profiles are delayed or not work at all, what should I do?

Since Android 6 Marshmallow the new Doze mode may block My Volume event services and scheduled profiles. If it happens with your device you can put My Volume in Doze whitelist to avoid it's blocked. To open Doze whitelist go to Android Settings, then Battery, then open the top right menu and choose Battery optimization. Change Not optimized to All apps. Find My Volume, tap it and then choose Don't optimize.

  • On my device My Volume scheduled profiles do not respect Android Do Not Disturb mode. What should I do?

My Volume scheduled profiles can respect or bypass the DND mode, see comply with do not disturb mode setting for more details.

  • On my device some volume sliders are linked. Can I unlink them?

Some devices have an option to link/unlink certain volume levels (system, ring and notification) and if you want to manage them separately go to SOUND SETTINGS and disable the linking. Be aware not all devices have that option so please don't give us negative comments/review, we can't do anything to unlink volumes.

  • Will My Volume be translated into my language?

No, sorry. Translations are costly and add complexity to the software (they may lead to additional bugs). My Volume has very few text sentences inside it but, to help users in having a better understanding of its features, we have written this detailed page that can be translated in your language with the TRANSLATE DROP-DOWN BOX on top of the right column.

  • Will My Volume be redesigned with material design?

Probably not. We think material design is not for every app, would you ask material design for games too? Instead we will give users more themes we can. And, again, please don't leave negative comments/review for no material design.

  • If I change my device will I lose my in-app purchases?

Absolutely not! If you change your device (for example, you buy a new smartphone) your purchases will be automatically restored if you use the same account you already used on your previuos device. Sometimes this process may take awhile. In those cases you can try to manually force the synchronization of your account to speed up the thing.
