Book one in The Vampire Favors                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Never make a deal with a vampire. It always comes back to bite you; or so Addison Fitzpatrick has learned. In true Addison-fashion, she'd angered a drug dealer; she may have "forgotten" to pay him. Just when it was time to pay the piper, she was offered a way out by an unlikely being. Cannon Blackwood, master of vampires, made her an offer she couldn't refuse. Now, Addison owes Cannon three favors.                                                                                                                                                               Seven years after that fateful meeting, just as Addison's life is getting back on track, Cannon calls in one of the favors she owes him. There is a new drug that threatens the very existence of the vampire race and Cannon needs Addison, along with his brother Lachlan, who happens to be a professional thief, to steal it and destroy any evidence of it.                                                                                                                                                                                                     Not only is the future of the vampires on the line, but with both Cannon and Lachlan vying for her attention, her heart is as well. Addison has difficult choices to make and dangerous favors to repay if she wants to see the light of another day.

I'm a huge paranormal romance lover. It's always great when I find a new writer that builds a world that is fresh and original. This book delivered on drawing me into this world and hooking me. The idea of a Pusher...a human that has abilities they are born with was a great touch.
Addison had a rough start in life. She was used and abused at such a young age it broke my heart. Due to her horrific circumstances she made a deal with the devil...aka Cannon the old as dirt jerk of a vampire....and was able to turn her life around.
Enter Lachlan....another vampire....with Addison is forced to work off their "favor" to Cannon. She is now fully entrenched in the vampire world with the oh so hot but untouchable Lachlan. The action (and sexual tension) in this book kept me reading until the late hours.
Great first in series....now....onto book 2... Give and Take!!!

I’m not a fan of the h or H in this series. The story was incredibly “basic” in its execution. Even with that attempt at reeling me in with the major tease in the epilogue I found i didn’t care. Will not be following this series. I found it a difficult story to get into but it seems I’m in the minority. 2.5 stars

I started this last summer and for some reason didn't connect with the main character, so stopped reading it. Picked it up again this week, and I am so glad I gave it another chance. As soon as Lachlan appeared on the scene, the story got better and better. If you like sexy vampire mystery novels then stick with this one as it really "pulls" you in.

It's been awhile since I've read a "different" type of vampire story. Not that the vampires are different. They are still everything you know. But Emily Cyr has "entered" in a new type of paranormal called a Pusher. These are humans with special powers.

Addison is trapped in a debt with a Master Vampire and he's come to collect. Unfortunately he's brought along his brother too. And, oh my, can I have him? He's a typical vampire too, all arrogant and up in Addison's face, but he wants her and he's going to have her.... if only for a short while. Working together to solve a threat to the vampire race they run (she does this really fast), jump and have a lot of passionate moments together. There are a lot of other characters in this story that bring in substance and more story lines that I'm anxious for. I can't wait.

What can I say? I always love a good vampire romance. This book had all the right elements. I'm totally digging the love triangle between the MC and the two vampires. Also, I like that the MC isn't perfect. She's flawed and was successfully getting herself back on track. There was mystery, intrigue, romance and quite a few twists. Highly recommend for those paranormal romance lovers with an interest in vampires. Can't wait to see what happens next! I need more!

My first experience with this author & boy was it eventful!
Not my usual type of read, & I wasn't sure exactly what to expect as I'd read through many varying reviews. My personal opinion is this title is spot on! Sure it is a bit slow going in a few places, but the addictive pull of everything in between keeps those pages flying until there are none left.

This is definitely an adult read & not for the squeamish as we venture into some very unpleasant situations on the main character's journey through drug addiction to dealings with some shady peeps onto more intense scenes of torture & lust. In all honesty I tend to steer clear of books with extremely dark or serious topics (especially ones dealing with abuse) & this book does contain all of the above. However I feel like the author did not go overboard for the most part & I'm glad I gave this book a shot. I believe she did an excellent job bringing to light what I can only imagine such addiction & withdrawal might put one through. Raw emotion mixed with perseverance to not fall back into old habits play a big part of this story, but there is so much more too. With each new character she offers us such variety from some very intimidating vampires to humans with a wide array of supernatural abilities aka pushers to the lowest of low scumbags wishing only to suck the life out of whomever/whatever they can. Then there is Lachlan who I am very glad joined this adventure along with his crew who added some very entertaining moments to Addison's tale. Throughout it all I laughed, I cried, & I begged for more! I will be keeping an eye on more to come from Emily Cyr.

On a side note ... I was impressed with the narrator for the audio book too as she was spot on with these characters & the needed emotion/tone for each situation. It only took me as long as it did to finish because I could listen while working, & when too busy had to continually pause to answer calls. Definitely an enjoyable book to listen to aside from the cringe worthy moments, of course. LOLz

I wasn't ready for this to end. And now I want book #2....like now.

This is a fast paced book, with Addison being torn between Cannon and his bro, Lachlan. Who is the less of 2 evils, it's hard to tell.

Addison had a troubled past that finally caught up with her. But instead of hurting her, she is given an offer she can't refuse. (See what I did there?!) A Master Vampire, Cannon spared her life, in exchange for 3 favors. They could be anything and anywhere. But first she needs to come clean and stay that way. No more messing with drugs.

Seven long years have passed w/o a word from Cannon. Then she feels the pull to him, he is calling her to him with their bond. It's there that she learns he has a brother, Lachlan. They will be working together to find a drug that is killing or creating vampires. They must destroy it and a favor is wiped off their tab, so to speak.

Things heat up between Addison and Lachlan. She needs to keep her distance. When the mission is over and Lachlan tears her heart out, she welcomes Cannon back, just so she can stop feeling the loss of Lachlan.

I started this book yesterday at lunch and finished it up this morning when I woke up. I love paranormal books. Vampires and werewolves, all those things are great. Emily Cyr put a twist on the vampires and all the legends surrounding them. That was unique and pretty cool. I love when authors do that. Not the same ole thing!

Wow! If you don't mind cursing, steamy sex scenes, paranormal romance and vampires, then this a phenomenal read. At first you think Addison is some pathetic, slip of a girl and wonder why so many men are into her. Then you learn she has some kickass power and is a pusher (humans with special abilities like running super fast, super human strength, or telekinetic powers). Since she owes Cannon for "saving" her, she is at his beck and call for 5 favors. Her first to help eliminate a super power drug that impacts vampires abilities. Great cliffhanger with Lachlan (the super hot vampire brother to Cannon)!

I actually sent it back, it was that painful to read. Bunnycore loved it, and I trust her judgement, but this one didn't make the cut. I dunno, maybe my age is showing, but that whole thing of women getting so weak-kneed and lathered up that they'll allow virtual strangers to do to them what in real life would get someone maced and/or arrested...no. Don't want to read it. If that's your thing, great.

Super fun read!

I love stories where a kick-ass female overcomes all of the crap life has thrown at her, for the most part ;) The creation of Pushers is intriguing, like x-men. The relationships are real and full of passion, both good and bad. I can’t wait to read the next book!!

Well I really enjoyed the story. I just am not super happy about this becoming a "love triangle". I am sure there are people out there who enjoy such things. But for me, I get so into the two people being together, then oh gosh now we are back to her wanting to be with the other and then oh gosh, now I have to go help...or he lied..not lied..but omitted...this back and forth, for me I dislike it a lot. I think this could have been a wonderful story with out the triangle. Cannon could have given issues to her and Lachlan without it being a triangle or vice versa. Any...We shall see if I can get past book two or not. If you are not a fan of triangles, not do read, if you are..you will most likely fall in love with this series.

Addison Fitzpatrick is a pusher, she has super human abilities of speed and telekinesis, and she's a mess. Caught in the middle of a drug addiction, and owing her supplier a ton of money, she is rescued by the most unlikely person or should I say thing. Her unique strengths is the only thing that can save or her kill her.

The world that Addison lives in has for sure a pretty interesting one. The public is aware of people they call “pushers”, each one possessing different abilities. They also know about the vampires that live amongst them. The vampires in this world though don't hide from the sun, nor do they melt from holy water, or even stepping on sacred ground. When Addison finds herself bound to one, Cannon Blackwood one of the most powerful vampires around, she learns just how dangerous they really can be. The bond she has with Cannon allows him to pull her to his beck and call whenever he so desires. She owes him her life, in return she must stop the drug use and come whenever he calls her with no questions asked. I found this arrangement fare at first, but then when he tries to seduce her, and even stake claim to her, all romantic gestures were lost on me. Cannon is a piece of shit that has the power to act like a spoiled brat and take whatever he decides he wants. Seven years later she is called by Cannon to fulfill one of her first obligations to him.

Addison is now introduced to Cannon's brother Lachlan. The both of them are to work together on a job Cannon needs done, but their first impressions of each other are not good. They definitely have a rocky start, and I find it interesting where the story line goes with them. Addison came from a very abusive past, and the drug addiction wasn't surprising because of that. The writing and emotion that went into Addison's history felt very personal, real which made Addison's character more believable and endearing. I really appreciated the action scenes that took place, and the plot. The entire book had me captivated, and worrying for what would become of Addison. She's such an unlikely heroine but at the same time so very fitting to become one. I empathize with Addison and want to see her win. I'm on pins and needles for the next book in this awesome new series!

Narrator Review

Rebecca Mason-Wygal narrates for Emily Cyr. This is my first experience listening the Rebecca, and I thought she was very lovely. The recording quality was nice, and the music at the end and beginning of each chapter was a great touch! Rebecca had that tone of voice that was just right for Addison's age, and the little gravel in the back of her throat that I would imagine someone like Addison would have. Being a junkie and emotional wreck all the time takes a toll on ones soul and body, so like I said the voice was perfect. I think she did a great job, and I look forward to hearing more from her in future books.

Push and Pull is a very interesting story. Seven years ago, Addison Fitzpatrick is a drug addict. After not paying a particular drug dealer, Addison found herself in a bind. When Cannon Blackwood, a master vampire made her an offer that he will paid off her debt to the drug dealer, Addison will owes him three favors at a later date. For self-preservation, Addison took the deal.

Now in the present, Addison has gotten her life together. She is a martial art instructor and she is cleaned. The only thing she hasn't figure out is her dating life. While she was on a date that she wanted to end without hurting her date's feeling, she is summoned by Cannon Blackwood to fulfill one of the three favors.

Cannon wanted Addison to work with his brother, Lachlan who is a professional thief to steal and destroy a new drug that will put the balance of vampire and pusher in jeopardy. Addison is attracted to both brothers. One brother that she wants and the other, she wants to push away.

I don't usually like to read story with a drug addict. Addison is a character that I like and hate. She isn't a character that I can really love. I can see why Addison turned to drugs and then later put her life together. Just when I thought Addison was an interesting character, she was unreasonable and ended up being caught in the heist. She still have baggages. I would like to see her character grows as the series continues.

The narrator, Rebecca Mason-Wygal did a wonderful job as the voice for Addison's narration of her life. I like her voices for the character Cannon and Lachlan. The character gave Lachlan a wonderful Scottish accent.

I was given this audiobook by the author. I volunteered to write an unbiased review for the book. I was not compensated or influenced in any way on writing this review.

This is the first book I've read for this author and what a pleasure it was to read. I'm a major paranormal romance fan....though this book could also go under the paranormal suspense genre as well. I REALLY loved this story. Ms. Cyr has created a new twist to add to her vampire tale in this exciting romantic suspense.

Blackwood brothers Cannon & Lachlan are both different, save one thing....they are both vampires. Cannon being Master of all Vampires and despite him being totally hot and sexy....he is also a smug, sadistic jerk. Where Lachlan, also being hot and sexy, is a bit more caring and doesn't take pleasure in the misery of others.

Enter the lovely Addison Fitzpatrick, a recovering heroine addict, clean for seven years. Addison is what called a "Pusher"....she has special powers or gifts, hers being incredible speed and telekinetic abilities. Having been "bound" to Cannon these seven years, she is indebted to him for three "favors". To pay off a "favor" she is forced to work with Lachlan and his team to uncover dark secrets at a genetics lab.

Throughout this book the beautiful "Pusher" feels pulled between the handsome Vampire brothers....with her heartfelt feelings for Lachlan on one side and her being indebted to Cannon and his you-are-mine attitude on the other. This book is like X-Men-meet-Dracula-meet Sneakers-meet- the Manhattan Project....if not familiar with these movies, look them up. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in this amazing series....Give and Take!

Wow what a book. The book involves, drugs, vampires and a humans with super powers called Pushers.
Addison is a drug addicted pusher. Her super power is super speed. She is in deep with her dealer at the beginning of the book. A vampire named Canon in a way buys her from her dealer in exchange for not only cleaning herself up but she also owes him 3 favors. He will not tell her what the favors are or when he will collect. So basically she is at his beck and call until he is ready to cash in.
Addison does clean herself up and gets straight. Seven years later still owing Cannon she gets a call, not on the phone but mentally. She rushes to him to be told he was collecting on one of the favors.
He turns her over to his brother Lachlan, who is also a vampire and also in debt to Cannon. The favor is to help clear the streets or a deadly drug to other Pushers. This is when the book takes flight.
I really enjoyed this book. Hated the ending only because I do not have the 2nd book laying here ready to pick up. The last couple of sentences in the book is basically the beginning of book 2.
I really enjoyed the way Emily Cry trapped me into the story. The characters were all well defined. There was not an over abundance of description. There was just enough to let your minds eye have a picnic on what was going on around the characters. There is also just a touch of romance, and 1 sex scene.
I cannot wait for book 2.

Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks?

Push and Pull is the first book in the Vampire Favors series by Emily Cyr. The narrator on the audiobook did a wonderful job. She added the emotion necessary, the voice inflections were spot on, and she even did a sound effect or two when a character snorted or something like that. It wasn't over acted. It was just right.

The story was pretty darn good too. I sympathized with Addison from the beginning. She's done dumb things, and she owns up to it. The vampires are intriguing. These aren't necessarily friendly, huggy vampires. They're pretty alpha and used to getting their way. Many don't think much of humans, and they have a hierarchy amongst themselves that they seem to follow for the most part. It's almost like a good cop/bad cop kind of thing between Cannon and Lachlan. Or at least that's the way it feels to me, because I'm not sure who I trust as far as the vampires are concerned. If I trust them at all.

Push and Pull by Emily Cyr was kindly provided to me by Pure Textuality Public Relations for review. The opinions are my own.

Outstanding, Awesome, and I liked it. The concept that the main character had been a drug addict put me off a bit even though I knew that it was a part of her past, but I was anxious about how it would affect her present. That experience, like every part of her past, has made her the woman of strength that she is today. In this urban fantasy Addison's transformations starts where many do, at the lowest point of her life. Now her life is going well except that hanging over her is a debt she owes to a the Master Vampire and now he has called in that debt.

A little Mission Impossible, a lot of steam, and some solid connections that matter, all bring this novel to an irresistible boil. I can't wait to read more about this mismatched crew. There are so many possibilities for problems in the future that it will take at least several books to cover them all and I am sure that Miss Cyr has ideas that haven't even been hinted at yet. That is great because the series will be long; that it terrible because I don't want to wait to find out what happens to my newest friends.

The writing is outstanding and I did not notice any editing distractions. 10 stars.

There are certain books that just kind of jump out at you when you see them. Sometimes, there are certain sets of books that do that. This is one of those for me. I ambled upon this author and all of her amazingly covered books at a book signing. I knew in my gut that I just had to have these books. At first, I was just going to buy one. I decided to buy them all anyways. I'm so glad I did. I was pulled into this book from the very beginning. It was magnificent. It has a sassy strong female lead and a daring and dangerous sexy male companion. It has mystery and intrigue with a bit of thrill and suspense thrown in. Let me not forget about the little bit of heat thrown in to top it all off. There's not too much heat either. Just enough to add a flair to the story. I fell in love with all these characters and I'm so glad that I decided to give this author a chance. This will be a book I re-read over and over again. I do fully recommend that you have the sequel on hand. I won't say why. Just trust me on this! I hope it's enjoyed as much as I have enjoyed it!

On my road to perfection I have decided that I am no longer going to permit myself the joy of impulse buying and am now rather going to sample before purchasing (translation: I have been burnt too many times buying utter rubbish). The results so far have been promising as can be seen with this first purchase: Push and Pull, don't you just love the cover?

Addison is a flawed heroine who has self destructed because life has kicked her in the teeth one too many times, and she is not ashamed to admit it and accept the consequences. Now bound to a master vampire she has to fulfil three favours for debt forgiveness, but Addison is not totally helpless and has some hidden talents that will help her through this tough time. Throw in a "love" triangle, betrayal and a bit of mayhem you have a worthwhile read - thumbs up Emily.

Okay so I could have SWORN that I wrote a review for this back in July because I received a request to read books 1 & 2 and leave a review...and I do remember writing up my review...now I don't know if if just went missing on my computer and never got uploaded or if I really did upload it like I thought and it somehow didn't go through all the way??? I don't know, but now I feel really crappy because this was supposed to be done earlier...but anyway..this stuff doesn't at all affect the fact that I freaking LOVED this book! I couldn't stop reading once I started, it kept me completely engaged and I never once got bored! The men are sexy and I kind of keep going back and forth between them. Which is rare, I normally only like one guy in a love triangle..but this time..not so much!

Totally recommend this book!

This is an amazing read! It’s super intense and very emotional, which is something I have come to expect from this author. The sexual tension between Addison and Lachlan is obvious even to someone as cold hearted as I am.

Emily Cyr has the ability to really make you feel strong emotions for her characters. You either love them absolutely or hate them with the fire of a thousand suns. Her characters come alive as you read them and can be related to in a way that I haven’t found with many other authors.

The storyline is great, there is plenty of action to go along with the sexual tension. There are so many reasons to love this book. It’s the first in the series so I’m looking forward to the next to see what happens!

I can’t wait to read more by this author!

This was an action pack listen! I loved every minute of it.
Addison is a bad ass and can stand on her own. She has some demons from her past that don't want to let her go. However, could two brothers chase away those demons?
Cannon is a powerful vampire who doesn't take any shit. While Locklyn is bad ass but has compassion in his heart whether he knows it or not.

These three must work together to stop a drug that could human and vampire kind alike.

This is a great story to listen to I enjoyed the narrator however the music and the sounds effects I could have done without. I can't wait until part two is on audible.

Very slow

I can't figure out if it is a bit harsh to give this 2 Stars - but I was so incredible bored Reading this I Can not give it any more.

This book have the basic plot you could come up with.

You won't connect with the characters, there is a juice cliffhanger and you will not have one single question answers at the end of this book.

I am quite honestly over These books where everything has to be this bog mystery that you will never get the answer to.

Oh, and a love triangle - Which I actually was quite over since both males aren't deep enough to form an epinion of.

Oh wow! This book was awesome!
I was hooked from the start, and when Lachlan appeared...well, let's just say I am now in love with him! He was too f@cking hot! I really, really, really liked him. A lot.
I also liked Abby. We couldn't be any more different, but I guess that's one of the reasons I liked her. She was a really good heroine.
I didn't like Cannon at all. And he was also kind of creepy. He treated Addy like a mere possession and it pissed me -and Addy- off.
Theo was really cute and fun. I liked him.
Brent... I'm not saying anything.
Gen was a little weird but I'm hoping to get to know her better in book 2. And I really hope that's coming out soon!

A whole new duo to sink your teeth into

I love new vampire books with a completely different story line. And not only do you get 1 sexy vampire but you get 2!!! And I love love triangles. Cannon is so mysterious but obviously Master vamp and he has this obsession with Addison. But then there is Lachlan and all his Brody domineering self. Both are attracted to Addison but it's so much more. This is very fast paced and loss of mystery. But the ending is the shocker. I went do any spoilers but I can't wait to read the next book!!
