The Academy for Grassroots Organizations presented its 2017 Academy Awards for Nonprofit Excellence at its Leadership Circle Celebration April 14 at Spring Valley Lake Golf Club in Victorville.

P.T. McEwen, chief executive officer of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Redlands-Riverside accepted the Nonprofit Agency of the Year Award.

Lorrie Hinkleman, volunteer with Steps 4 Life of Redlands, won the Adult Volunteer of the Year Award, and Tracey Rick, an employee with Family Assistance Program of Redlands, won the Nonprofit Employee of the Year Award.

Austin Tran, a student at Redlands East Valley High School and volunteer with the Kids Connection community outreach program of New Life Foursquare Church in Redlands, won the Youth Volunteer of the Year Award.

Diana Fox, executive director of Reach Out, won the Executive Director of the Year Award.

The Academy for Grassroots Organizations was formed to help strengthen the nonprofit sector in San Bernardino County. It offers fundraising classes and serve as a network of more than 1,000 nonprofit professionals and volunteers.
