Duterte leads military honors for marines killed in Marawi City

President Rodrigo Duterte on Sunday led the military honors for the Philippine Marines killed in action during clashes with the Maute terrorist group in Marawi City.

Honored in the ceremony were eight of the 13 Marines - members of Marine Battalion Landing Teams (MBLTs) 5 and 7 - killed during Friday's 16-hour firefight in Barangay Lilod Madaya.

The remains of the Marines arrived at the Villamor Airbase Sunday evening. — DVM, GMA News
