Frost DK Hidden Appearance Drops in ICC

Recommended Posts

Redditor Zubberikan made an interesting discovery! The hidden appearance for Frost Death Knights Runes of the DarkeningRunes of the Darkening now drops in Icecrown Citadel.

We do not know if this is intended, a bug or an undocumented change of Patch 7.1.5. The appearance does not seem to drop from a specific boss. The drop we see in the picture below (Credits go to Zubberikan) dropped from Deathbringer Saurfang. Redditor InvidiaSuperbia confirmed the drop from The Lich King (25 Heroic).

For Kerexgg Deathbringer Saurfang also dropped the appearance.DwbCqzz.jpg

Hopefully they give everyone else the same treatment, for those who for some dumb reason have to get their hidden appearances from world bosses.

Any idea if there is a level requirement tied to this? Can my 100 DK get it?

I think there is, some lvls of artifact knowledge required, If they didn't removed them yet, wich i doubt.

I'd be very surprised if they had removed the AK req, especially since it is so easy to get now.

I'm a big fan of this tbh. It means it's dropping somewhere that actually means something to the spec, not "go do withered j'im, crash the zone for a bit and hope you get it"

It should be somewhat lore driven I think.  I personally thought the Blood DK one coming from some Suramar chest was... ridiculous at best.

Hah "crash the zone for a bit"

Oddly enough I've never been in a situation where the entire zone crashed from doing Withered J'im. I guess I never ended up on one of -those- servers while joining a group heh.

I agree.  I am a big fan of ICC.  I like the idea of getting people in there if they have never been.  The fact that it is tied to lore is a very nice added bonus.

And there's always the chance to get Invincible's ReinsInvincible's Reins and many cool pets introduced with Raiding with Leashes IV: Wrath of the Lick KingRaiding with Leashes IV: Wrath of the Lick King. You can also work toward getting ShadowmourneShadowmourne. So many reasons why to return to ICC with your Death Knight.

Count yourself lucky! I tried levelling with my girlfriend while he was up and the zone just kind of died every time they engaged him. It was horrible :( Not the best first experience of Legion for her!

I approve this. You see guys, getting an artifact appearance from an irrelevant content a world boss that spawns around 5 or 8 weeks makes no sense.

Yes, I claimed mine after I killed The Soultakers who are 3 seperate bosses in a room by just looting after killing it. But after several weeks, I saw some people were dropping this appearance from Naxxramas or Upper ICC. To be honest, that pleases me. This is something meaningful and relevant. After all, FDKs carrying two swords derivated from shards of Frostmourne the sword who made Arthas a Lich King, all those savagery at Northrend and it must be an obligation to making it a corelation with WOTLK content by this.

I don't know any other hidden appearances from world bosses and their fixation of able to get those from other old contents, but we deserved it.

About BLOOD hidden appearance, it must be related with Teron Gorefiend at BT or Gorefiend at HFC. That is all I can say here.

Blizzard's recent cloak nerf in MoP Remix has stirred up the community, particularly affecting extreme frog farmers. But how did this change impact both frog farmers and regular players?
The infamous frog farm in MoP Remix gave players a huge power boost by farming threads, creating a significant advantage over others. Blizzard quickly moved to nerf this, but just last night, they rolled out a hotfix targeting not only the extreme frog farmers but also affecting regular players.
Last night, Blizzard reduced the stats on cloaks for those identified as extreme frog farmers. All stats were adjusted to +2500, except for Stamina, which was set to +25,000 for these players.
       ->
Interestingly, the rollback also affected players who never engaged in these farming activities, with some being caught in the crossfire.
For those who did not participate in any farm, Blizzard introduced three quests they could complete granting their Level 70 Timewalker up to 40,000 Bronze. Even so, we hear reports of players farming frogs for about 30 minutes and still avoiding Blizzard's frog lord tag, being able to pick up the quest, and conversely, players that didn't farm frogs but couldn't pick up the quests for 40,000 Bronze that had their cloaks nerfed.
      What's really happening?
Friday's hotfix seems to have targeted players with cloak stats above a specific threshold. This led to some players being flagged and their cloaks reverted, regardless of whether they participated in the frog farms or not.
The situation remains fluid, and players are eagerly awaiting further updates from Blizzard to address these inconsistencies.
Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.

A small number of frog farmers that received an extreme advantage that has distorted gameplay in MoP remix will have their cloak power reverted, according to Blizzard. The rest will receive 40K Bronze!
For players that didn't take advantage of frog farming, Blizzard is providing 3 additional quests with large Bronze rewards for reaching levels 50, 60, and 70. The quests will be available from Momentus the item upgrade at the Jade Forest infinite Bazaar. The quests provide characters a total of 40K Bronze.

We have been monitoring the impact of the Gulp Frog farming that some players did during the first three days of WoW Remix. We’ve also been working on ways to respond to player feedback about Bronze acquisition, increased difficulty at higher levels, and feeling too far behind those who took advantage of the frogs.
A small number of players received an extreme advantage that has distorted the gameplay experience for some in WoW Remix. With hotfixes later today, May 24, we will adjust characters with an unreasonably large number of Gulp Frog kills prior to the loot bug fix, and those players will see the power of their Cloak of Infinite Potential reduced to an amount that a very engaged player could reasonably achieve. This change will have a larger impact on players who took advantage of the situation for longer.
For everyone that did not take advantage of the frog farming, we’re providing three additional quests with large Bronze rewards for reaching levels 50, 60, and 70. These quests will become available from Momentus the item upgrader at the Jade Forest Infinite Bazaar. These milestone quests will grant characters an additional 3,000, 7,000, and 30,000 Bronze, respectively. Level 70 Timerunners will be able to complete all three quests immediately for 40,000 additional Bronze when this change takes effect. Characters that killed an unreasonably large number of Gulp Frogs will not be eligible for these quests.
We believe these milestone quests and the additional Bronze they grant will make playing Remix more rewarding for primary and secondary characters for the duration of the event. Players may choose to use this Bronze to upgrade their gear or purchase cosmetic rewards at the Infinite Bazaar, depending on their personal goals for that character. These milestone quests will be available for all Timerunning characters that are leveled up for the duration of the event.
We will continue to monitor the gameplay landscape of Remix and make improvements as needed. Thank you for your feedback!
