Karin announced for Street Fighter 5

Karin was revealed for Street Fighter 5 this evening by Capcom at the Tokyo Game Show as a playable character.

Karin Kanzuki is one of the most popular Street Fighter characters in the entire series, and she first made her debut in Alpha 3, clear back in 1998.

Karin has been introduced along with a brand new stage called "Kanzuki Estate." The returning fighter uses her new dash move to close the distance between her and the opponent and set up high/low mix ups or throws.

The highly anticipated Alpha 3 fighter has a well-rounded skill set that focuses on putting pressure on her foes.

V-Skill and V-Trigger details

V-Skill - Meioken: Karin attacks with a palm strike that stops projectiles and causes a knockdown when it successfully hits an opponent. The attack can be charged slightly, giving it improved hit and block properties.

V-Trigger - Kanzuki-Ryu Guren No Kata: Karin channels her Ki to unlock the true power of the Kanzuki fighting style. In V-Trigger, she gains access to the Guren Ken attack, which includes over half a dozen follow-ups.

After the initial attack, she can go straight into an overhead, a low sweep, a throw, and even a backdash to bait out counter attacks.
