The coaches’ votes are in, the All-CIF Souther Section teams for high school football were released on Tuesday afternoon and the local vanguard was represented well across an array of divisions.

In the Pac-5 Division, Bishop Amat’s run to the semifinals resonated well and receivers Tyler Vaughns and Brandon Arconado were chosen on the offensive team. Linebacker Christian Wiley was a defensive team selection.

The Central Division was chalk full of top local teams and Glendora linebacker Zach Lewallen took home the biggest honors by being named Defensive Player of the Year.

Other locals on the Central Division team are Charter Oak’s Zion Echols, Kam Brown, Dareon Nash, Damien Washington and Jacob Underhill. Los Altos is represented by Tevita Sina, David Tolmachoff and Tyler Nevens.

The rest include: Angel Verdugo (Bonita), Danny Gelalich (Bonita), Carson Glazier (San Marino), Cole Mace (San Marino), JP Shohfi (San Marino), Eric Quevedo (West Covina), Ben Northup (Glendora), Josh Radecki (South Hills), Caleb Watkins (Glendora), Colin Oray (Glendora), Octavious Spencer (Monrovia), Tysean Brown (Monrovia), Carlos Salinas (South Hills), Josh Herrera (West Covina), Anthony Marquez (Monrovia), Tyler Ili (West Covina).

Pomona’s championship in the Mid-Valley Division led to a sweep of the major awards. Quarterback Darreon Lockett was named Offensive Player of the Year, linebacker Andrew Walker was the Defensive Player of the Year and Keith Richardson was the Coach of the Year.

The rest of locals to make all-CIF in the Mid-Valley Division are: Alex Camacho (Northview), Kheenyon Woods (Pomona), Angel Maldonado (Azusa), Isaac Mendibles (Montebello), Mario Zamora (Bassett), Roger Carrillo (Azusa), Nick Torres (Northview), Matthew Perez (Schurr), Demarco Munoz (Rosemead), Dominic Ramirez (Azusa), Eric Williams (Covina), David Cotero (Arroyo), Michael Sahagun (Rosemead), Enrique Lozano (Montebello), Shawn Wilson (Pomona), Desmond Bobo (Pomona), Paul Cooper (Northview), Simeon Poggi (Montebello), Keevan Watley (Pomona), Andres Esparza (Bassett), Chris Duran (Azusa), Jaron Reed (Northview), Aaron Tsai (Rosemead), AJ Valenzuela (Baldwin Park), Ricky Padilla (Northview), Jasper Chavez (Rosemead), Andres Hooper (Northview), Devon O’Grady (Sierra Canyon).

Pasadena Poly’s strong showing in the Northwest Division led to four players being chosen to the all-CIF team. They were Griffin Carter, Jack Moore, Vince Porter and Nick McConnell.

Other locals on the all-Northwest Division team include: Caleb Devine (Maranatha), Xavious Boone (Maranatha), Noah Evans (Whittier Christian), Dmitri Mata (Maranatha), Joseph Turner (Cantwell), Titus Stewart (Cantwell), Jean-Luc Dauphiney (Cantwell).

St. Francis’ strong season led to a whopping eight players being chosen to the all-Southeast Division team. They are Jeremiah Martin, Areg Nazarian, Dylan Crawford, John Carroll, Logan Felan, Matt Bayle, Mason Williams and Brodie Felkel.

Other locals on the all-Southeast Division team include: Andrew Perea (El Rancho), Christian Lara (La Mirada), Tony Brown (La Mirada), Anthony Huizar (La Mirada), Mark Millan (El Rancho), Malachi Allen (El Rancho), Adrian Palacios (El Rancho), Kevin Ramos (La Serna), Robert Caggiano (La Mirada).

La Habra was represented well in the Southwest Division by Carlos Martin, Richard Arias and Jake Colacion.
