Citi Bike had a record-breaking 2015.

The bike share system racked up 10 million trips for the year on Thursday, breaking the 2014 record of 8,092,952 rides.

The 10 millionth rider was Maria Celi, an avid cyclist from the East Village who hopped on the bike on her way home from the gym at 1:08 p.m.

She will receive a free year’s membership for herself and three pals.

“It’s the luckiest thing that’s ever happened to me,” she said. “I never win anything.”

Celi, the director of visitor experience at the Dia Art Foundation, plans on giving the free memberships to some pals who can’t afford the $149 annual membership.

Officials said ridership increased 24% over the past 12 months, and included seven days in which more than 50,000 trips were made.

Two of those heavy ridership days were during Pope Francis’ visit in September, when heavy security for the papal visit caused major gridlock in Manhattan.

Mayor De Blasio said the high ridership numbers were the result of the system being added into more neighborhoods in 2015 — including for the first time in some parts of Queens — as well as improvements made by the company that runs the program.

“The new leadership at Motivate [the private company that runs Citi Bike] has done incredible work making this a public transit option New Yorkers can rely upon, and today’s 10 millionth ride is a testament to their success,” he said.

Citi Head of Public Affairs Edward Skyler — a former Bloomberg administration official — called it a “fantastic milestone.”

“No one could have predicted just how quickly it would become part of the fabric of New York City,” he said of the system, which is sponsored by the banking company Citi.

The high ridership makes New York’s system — which has 7,500 bikes at 460 stations — the busiest in the world.

London, which has 10,000 bikes at 700 stations, had 9.9 million trips in 2015.

Mexico City has 6,600 bikes and 444 stations, and had 8.85 million trips.
