Mumbai-based Tejas Menon has evolved from soft-spoken singer/songwriter to assured pop artist. Shaped by stints in Pune and Dubai, Menon has crafted more than 100 compositions—narrowing them down to 10 for his debut album, Make It Happen. Showy guitar lines—often coasting over tantalisingly unpredictable time signatures as in the prog-rock-influenced "Kindness" (with Vishal Dadlani) or the straight-ahead rocker "Come On Love (Give Me a Reason to Want You)"—complement a light, appealing tenor that winds effortlessly around phrases, embellishing them with breathy touches of soul.
