NEW DELHI: Facing allegations of wrongful deposition of demonetised notes by some
Delhi Transport Corporation (
DTC) officials, transport minister
Satyender Jain has ordered the corporation’s chairman-cum-managing director (CMD) to
probe the matter.
A senior government representative said, “A probe has been ordered into the allegations. Complaints were received that some DTC officials were changing the smaller denomination notes given by passengers as fares with Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 ones.”
The CMD has been asked to initiate appropriate criminal or departmental action against the guilty.
Delhi BJP president
Satish Upadhyay had written to LG Najeeb Jung a few days ago over the issue, citing certain allegations against the Aam Aadmi Party in the “political corridors and social media”.
