Bulldog Briefs 2017 - club news and results summary
Dear members, sponsors and supporters,
Another two solid wins for senior and development teams against East Ringwood last Saturday - achieving the goal to be positioned well leading into the split round break. We now have the opportunity to rest the weary bodies for a week or so, then straight back into a crucial game at home against Bayswater - who will be riding on a high after they recorded their first senior win for the year.
Disappointingly, the U19s lost a close one after leading well at half time.
A couple of other favorable results have the seniors place 2nd on the ladder and the development squad outright 3rd! The ladders below look good and most likely the best combined teams placings since our return to Division 1.

The wins capped off a great day for our club with our club captain Daniel King getting through the game and achieving the fantastic milestone of 200 senior games. Many supporters and opposition fans acknowledged this fantastic achievement post game. It was also fantastic that the EFL paid appropriate tribute with the Eastern Footballer featuring Dano on the cover and also a substantial story within.
Thanks to everyone who supported the club and attended Dogtoberfest last Saturday evening - an awesome night was had by all. Thanks to all the players involved in the organisation!
Finally, no dinners this Thursday (due to no selection or games next Saturday), but a big day at the club on Friday when the 6th Annual Mudlarks Luncheon is on - hope to see many of you there!

Seniors - Rd 12
The Roos came out strong full of trash talk, often playing the man and not the ball - they took a small lead into the first break.
Our lads had resolved on a win for the captain's milestone and stood firm not getting involved in the rubbish that was being served up. A seven goal to two second quarter gave us a four goal lead at half time. Determined not to have another 3rd term lapse, everyone was ready and raring to go early, beating the umpires back out!
We continued our way in the second half restricting East to two more goals while we put on another seven to secure a solid 49pt win.
Get fresh guys and be ready to go again at home against Bayswater Saturday week!

Development Squad - Rd 12
Six in a row now - the bar has been set and we dont want to fall below it.
The boys are playing cohesive team footy and some passages are outstanding. When challenged they are finding ways to win - like good teams do.
We all remember Rd 1 when we snatched one from Bayswater! Lets not let any complacency set in - rest well and be ready for a big game in a fortnight.

U19s - Rd 12
Travelled to East Ringwood with high expectations and throughout the first half we looked like we would get another win.
We made a measured effort to play one quarter at a time and not focus on the end result, however we had a lapse in the 3rd term and couldn't quite catch them in the end.
Disappointing considering the way we played the 1st half and then stop and fall short, really hurt. Now have 2 weeks break to get ready for the remainder of the season.
One that definitely got away!
