PASADENA – Authorities on Friday identified the driver who was killed in a collision involving a car and a truck on the westbound 210 Freeway.
Craig Harvey, spokesman for the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner, said 24-year-old Jonathan Stewart James of Monrovia died at the scene shortly before 3 p.m. Thursday.
It was raining when the crash occurred on the freeway, east of Lincoln Avenue at 2:40 p.m.
CHP Officer Xavier Bejar said James was driving a 2011 BMW 135i at an unsafe speed for the weather condition, lost control of the car and hit the back of a big rig which was parked on the right shoulder.
Bejar said alcohol and drugs aren’t factors in the fatal crash.
