April gets Dirty! -- 06.06.10

One of the great things about a Trash the Dress session is that we don't necessarily have to get totally dirty in order to capture some awesome images. Joe and I had been waiting all weekend for some really dramatic skies, and thankfully our patience paid off with the last session of the weekend. April had volunteered for the shoot, and having shot a full on TTD session the night prior, we decided to take a different approach with this one. Instead of getting totally soaked, we wanted to use the landscape and gorgeous skies as a dramatic backdrop for the session and it turned out beautifully. Ali and Brandon get dirty! - 06.05.10

We have absolutely wonderful timing when it comes to weather. The story starts out harmlessly enough, we did not have a wedding scheduled for the weekend of June 5th so we decided to just have a fun photo session for the heck of it. We invited Brandon and Ali, who were married last year, to head out to Maumee Bay for a Trash the Dress session. We also brought out Dawn from Marshall Photography as well as Merin and Joe. Merin was also kind enough to document some of the behind the scenes action for us. Unbeknown to us though, a giant storm was rapidly rushing towards us that would eventually drop tornadoes all over Northwest Ohio. All in all the shoot was absolutely awesome, and the threatening sky added a very dramatic backdrop to all of the images we captured. As the shoot wrapped though, the weather rolled in, and Joe and I had a very tense 45 minute drive back to Whitehouse Ohio, which involved literally driving through the heart of the storm, and running over a median. The shoot started out great, with beautiful clouds floating over the lake...

We then moved on to a quick series in the field...









And finished up with a nice dramatic series in the water and on the beach as the dark clouds came rolling in....

Aryn Gets Dirty! - 09.09.09 - Toledo Trash The Dress

You guys will probably remember Aryn and Steve from back in June, at that time Steve had learned that needed a bone marrow transplant to successfully recover from Leukemia. A couple of months after photographing their emotional wedding, Aryn e-mailed me with some fantastic news, that they had found a donor for Steve and that on the 18th of September he would be going into the hospital for his transplant. She also wanted to get an awesome photo session completed so that she could plaster his hospital room with a ton of pictures, and I was more than happy to help her out with that. It was so wonderful to be working with these two again, and they have been and will continue to be an inspiration for me.
