Giant Easter Egg Contest at University Place's Easter Extravaganza Event
Hello Contestant!
University Place would like to invite you to be a part of this year’s Giant Easter Egg Display Competition! If you are creative and crafty, this competition is your opportunity to showcase your talent to the public.
First Place winner receives $1,000 cash prize!

Here is how it works:
-Interested contestants must submit their entry form by Monday, April 8, 2019.
-All Entries must be delivered (by appointment) to University Place April. 15th- April 19th between 8:30am – 5:30pm.
-Entries will be displayed on Saturday, April 20th during the Easter Extravaganza Event (4pm-6pm).
-Entries will be judged by the public, the public can vote via text for their favorite Giant Easter Egg creation throughout the event and a panel of judges Saturday from 4:00-6:00pm.
-Winners will be announced at the Awards Ceremony at the end of the Easter Extravaganza Saturday, April 20th at 6:00pm.


TIMELINE:
Monday, April 8th Entry form deadline.
Monday, April 15th – Friday, April 19th Entries must be delivered to University Place.
Saturday, April 20th Giant Easter Egg Competition display. Voting open to the public.
Saturday, April 20th Final judging at 6pm. Voting via text from 4-6pm.
Saturday, April 20th Contestants may pick up their Giant Easter Eggs up if they wish – others will be discarded or donated.

Contest Rules & Information
·Entries must be freestanding and mounted on an 18”x18”- 36”x36” weighted, sturdy base. If the Egg topples over, it could be deemed hazardous and will be immediately disqualified.

·The Giant Egg needs to be made within 2.5-3.5ft tall, 1.5-2.5ft wide, and is three-dimensional. The total structure (egg, stand, extensions) cannot exceed 5ft in height.

·Construction must be “Egg Shaped” and any extensions cannot exceed 2ft. beyond the egg structure, no moving or electronic aspects of the egg may be included (Please see pictures for an idea of what is acceptable, call or email if you have any questions). Eggs can be hollow, and they can have the ability to see into/through the structure, no touching is allowed so viewing must be available on structure as it is. The Egg can be oriented in any way you would like if it retains its “Egg Shape.”
 
·Entry must be original –No purchase of professionally made eggs may be used in this competition. We encourage creativity, eggs can be made up of any material (plastic, food, concrete, etc.) if it’s safe and fits within the requirements that have been set. ***You will be required to load and transport the egg and structure before and after the competition. The distance from vehicle to competition site is approximately 50ft. Eggs will be displayed in front of UP Fountain in the Orchard Park.

·Eggs can be worked on and submitted as individuals or teams. The winner(s) will receive the standard award(s) for one egg, Entries must be constructed in 2019.

·Public voting via text and final judging will be based on three criteria:
Overall Appearance, Originality, and Creativity.

·Winners will be announced at the end of the Easter Extravaganza at 6:00pm.

·Contestants are not allowed to publish texting and voting numbers. Texting and voting information will be at the Giant Easter Egg Display at University Place’s Orchard Park. Encourage your followers to come and vote!
