NS 50 - ITD mates run the Stanchart marathon

Dear Brothers,

There have not been many Malay Muslim NS stories (I think I have not seen any) and representations of our community's contribution to NS and nation building is at best small. This being the 50th anniversary of NS, I think it is worthy and timely that such a story be told. This story hopes to showcase our NS contribution, the bonds of brotherhood and friendship forged during BMT, Safincos and unit days.

We are a group of guys who enlisted in Dec 1984. All of us were posted to Jaguar Company in ITD. The command found out that all the Malays were in this Company and in the spirit of integration decided to split ‘The Malay Regiment’ as we took to calling ourselves then into different companies. Only to be brought back together again in Safincos Brave Coy. We have stayed in touch throughout the years.
