Crowdfunding is a way to raise money, awareness and support for a project, from the people around you. It is a means of funding that allows individuals to make their ideas a reality with the support of the crowd.
Crowdfunding enables people with great ideas to raise the money they need, in return for donations or rewards. The public can back your idea with pledges of money and project owners can ‘thank’ their backers with rewards that reflect the money contributed. Increasingly grant makers and local authorities are match funding projects that can show the backing of their community
This is a practical workshop for organisations who want to set up a Crowdfund campaign.
By the end of the session we will aim to have:
~ a draft campaign ready to go live
~ an understanding of which match funders are suitable for your project
~ a plan for using your networks to generate funds
