I would do this on a PC if possible. Trust me, CTRL+F is your friend here ;) Answers with more than six pokemon per field will not be counted. The next two paragraphs are pretty much required, the rest are Q/A type stuff.
This is a survey for currently updating and completed fics.nextmay fill it out once for every fic you have of those descriptions. If you have not posted any of a story, or it has not been completed and you no longer have plans to update it, please do not fill out an entry for that story. The survey will close at some point on December 25. I hope to have results up in mid January. The main goal of this is to see what the "metagame" for fan fiction looks like. That is, what pokemon are the most common. And if we used Smogon's OU cutoff, what pokemon would make the cut?
Select the pokemon that WILL have the most significance in your fan fic at the point the question specifies (now or the end). Please click up to six. If you have fewer than six pokemon, please select one of the relevant boxes at the very end of the question. If one pokemon goes through multiple stages in the story, please select the one most recently held. If two pokemon are of the same species or line, please just select one box for both and either select another pokemon in its place or click one of the boxes at the end.
Pokemon are grouped by evolutionary line, except for those with branching evolutions. Those pokemon have the first stage before the branch and each final stage of the branch listed. For instance, if you wanted to select Tyrogue you would look for the option labeled "Tyrogue" instead of one labeled "Tyrogue/Hitmonchan/Hitmonlee." Silcoon is under "Silcoon/Beautifly" rather than "Wurmple/Silcoon/Beautifly/Cascoon/Dustox." Pease select the grouping with the final stage that pokemon is in now/at the end of the story. Alolan Marowak, Raichu and Exeggutor are treated as branching evolutions.
Alolan forms are denoted by A!name. As in, A!Marowak.
"Fakemon" encompasses any pokemon that is not canon. If a pokemon is merely a regional variant of another pokemon, select that instead of "fakemon." If a pokemon is an evolution of another pokemon, and said pokemon is shown at the canonical lower stage at some point in the fic (even in flashback), please select the canon stage. Otherwise, put "Fakemon." Please select the box for the number of Fakemons (from 1-6) that are in the top six most important pokemon in story.
Missingno. is an option due to its relative popularity. I will not be including other glitches. I am also not separating Lugia and Shadow Lugia, pikachu and cosplay pikachu, rotom and rotom-A, etc.
I strongly recommend using CTRL+F instead of scrolling by hand. You can also search for "fakemon" to go to the very bottom, where the final button and the "I have fewer than six pokemon" options are.
This survey contains two checklist and some optional demographic and story questions at the end. The survey is anonymous I am not mandating that you give me an email address, and I have neither the time nor energy to sort through them for personal details, so I do hope you fill those out.
I will post results on Serebii and Bulbagarden. There is a question at the end that will allow you to opt into an email list for the final results powerpoint.
