The Stanford Kudla Fund, founded in September 2015, is a student-run hedge fund focused on providing students with hands-on investing experience. The Fund was started with a $1 million donation by Stanford Alumnus David Kudla. Our group currently consists of 13 dedicated Partners with diverse backgrounds (graduate & undergraduate, various levels of work experience, across a number of departments) who collectively manage all activities and operations of the Fund. The Fund is a partnership in which all members are responsible for idea generation, strategy pitches, market discussion, and portfolio management and review.
The Fund consists of both quantitative and fundamental strategy teams and we are currently recruiting for both. The equities team relies on fundamental market research across all sectors to develop pitches for both long and short positions. The quant team is in the process of developing a series of algorithmic trading tools which will soon be live for testing, trading, and optimization.
Please keep in mind that lack of financial industry experience or coding experience does not preclude you from becoming a member. We are looking for individuals who are excited, creative, and ready to get hands-on experience in finance and investing. Participation in the fund can optionally count towards 1 unit (MS&E 149:

Generally, our weekly schedule involved one full Fund meeting, one meeting in specific teams, and a conference call on Sunday evening to prepare for the upcoming week. Partners are expected to be able to make these meetings and also work on projects outside of those blocks.
We welcome all applicants and ask that you answer the following questions thoughtfully. Thank you and we look forward to reading your application.
If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to the Co-Officers of the Fund, Phil DiGiacomo (

This application will close at 5pm on April 15th, 2017.
