Welcome to the registration page for the Green Schoolhouse after school program. This term we will be instituting a lottery system as interest for the program increases and we work to find a fair solution to giving everyone a chance to sign up with plenty of time. Our first lottery has closed, we will be extending a second lottery to December 4th.
This winter join the Green Schoolhouse as we embark on a homesteading journey around the world. We will explore traditions from around the world in preserving food, cooking, arts, and crafts. Students will make a passport that they will fill up throughout the term as we journey from Japan to learn about the country’s unique ecology and learn to make sushi all the way to Mexico where we will be inspired by local folk art, with plenty of locations in between. This program will take place mostly inside, though we will still be visiting the outdoors to play games, investigate, and experiment.
The Hayhurst homesteading club will have a session available on Mondays and a session available on Wednesdays, you may only register for one of the days. Monday's session will meet January 8th to March 19th and Wednesday's session will meet January 10th to March 21st, both will meet from 2:15-4:30 PM. Anytime school is closed, we will not meet. Due to the small nature of our program we are unable to offer refunds but will do everything in our power to find someone to take your place should you need to cancel.
**Anytime school is closed, there will be NO homesteading.
Cost-
Monday: $185.00
Due to a shortened term with 8 meetings, the cost will reflect 3 less classes.
Wednesday: $250.00 for 11 meetings.
There will be 11 sessions and total $250.00. This cost covers all craft, art, and food supplies.
**You may notice an increase in our costs; PPS has recently increased the price of their CUB permits and so to continue to use school buildings and pay our educators a sustainable wage we must reflect that in the cost. Of course our goal is create an inclusive space and we recognize that all home economics are unique. Please be in touch to hear about our scholarship availability.
