Public Health

I obey the recommendations of the health authorities in my region. *

I stay aware of public health issues and adjust my offerings as circumstances change. *

Platonic

I agree that my services and events are platonic. *

I’ll market my services and events in a manner that clearly communicates that they are platonic. *

I understand that a tank top and shorts is the minimum amount of clothing allowed at my events and sessions. *

If a client is using a session or event to be become aroused, I’ll respond by setting boundaries clearly, firmly, and respectfully. *

Consent

I agree to practice consent with my clients and attendees and guide them to pay attention to, respect and assert their personal boundaries. I will respect and honor my own boundaries as well. *

I respect the confidentiality of my clients and attendees by not disclosing their identity unless given permission to do so. The rare exception would be cases such as for my safety, the safety of my staff, or if there is a legal requirement for me to do so – such as a deposition. *

I will obtain informed consent from clients before recording any images or audio or permitting third-party observation. *

Inclusivity

Besides the case where I am directing my services to a specific population, I am non-discriminatory when deciding who to accept as a client or event attendee. I welcome adults of all ages, sizes, races, ethnicities, religions, gender identities and sexual orientations. *

I commit to making arrangements so that those with disabilities or with special needs can attend my events or sessions – within reason and within the law. *

I am body positive in being welcoming of clients and attendees of all shapes and sizes. *

I am also body positive by discussing issues of arousal in a respectful, non-shaming way – while leading groups or in discussions with individual attendees or clients. *

Professionalism

I agree to maintain good personal hygiene while providing services and provide a clean, safe environment when hosting. *

I agree to be sober and free from any mind-altering substances while providing services or leading events. *

I will not abuse my authority in my professional relationship with my clients or attendees for personal gain. *

I will not use my events or professional cuddling sessions as a way to find sexual or romantic partners. If a conflict of interest arises, I will do what’s best for the client and seek counsel from an adviser. *

I commit to being attuned to my clients’ and attendees’ needs. *

I’ll always do my best to set aside personal biases and approach each client or attendee with the utmost compassion, empathy and non-judgment. *

I interact with my colleagues, clients and the cuddle community with dignity. This means having the emotional intelligence to work with feelings as they arise and handling conflict respectfully. *

Self-Care and Ongoing Support

I make self-care a priority and ask for help when I need it so I can be at my best for my clients and attendees. *

I am mindful of my personal safety and use safety protocols as appropriate. *

I agree to request supervision and guidance when unsure how to handle a situation related to ethics. *

When practicing as a cuddle professional, I seek the advice of colleagues and/or supervisors as a routine part of my work. *

Business Practices

I will obey and uphold local and international laws in the process of marketing and delivering my services. *

I make an effort to start and finish my events and sessions in a timely way. I’m professional in attitude and behavior. *

If I have employees or subcontractors, I pay them a fair wage and according to fair and agreed upon terms. *

All other event leaders or professional cuddlers employed or contracted in my business will be vetted for professionalism and commit to a code of ethics. *

If I operate another form of business related to sexuality, I may not offer those sexual-related services to a cuddle client. Specifically, if a client requests cuddle related services from me, the client is no longer a potential client for my sexual-related services – in the present or in the future. *

I will refrain from any conduct that would reflect adversely upon the best interest of Cuddle Sanctuary and its ethical standards of practice. I understand that violation of any item in this Code of Ethics may be grounds for de-certification. *
