As science takes a front page on our nation's newspapers, newsfeed, and social media, the entire world is being made aware of the critical need for better science education, communication, and outreach. We at NESTA are aware of this need as well and turn to you, our members, as we seek out those people who want to cultivate a more scientifically literate society.

Every year, we reach out to our membership seeking those people who would like to step into a position of leadership in our organization. If you are interested in shaping our path forward, we encourage you to volunteer to step into one of the following roles:

Advisor to the Board of Directors on current issues and events

A Committee Chairperson or Member -- Our standing committees are Awards/Recognition, Conferences, Finances, Membership, Nominations/Elections, Professional Development, Publications, and Website. Currently, we are looking to create committees that focus on Elementary and Middle School Earth/Space Science, Earth/Space Sciences, Engineering & the Arts, and Equity and Justice the Earth/Space Science Education.

A State Contact who works to advance, extend, and coordinate NESTA and Earth Science education in their state.

An Assistant Editor for our peer-reviewed journal, The Earth Scientist

E-News Editor who is responsible for bringing together stories and informational items for NESTA's monthly electronic news letter which is published on the 15th of each month.
