The Advanced Opportunities Conference is focused on equipping secondary and post-secondary educators with the most current best practices and supports surrounding academic advising, student readiness, and career/college program expansion as students are encouraged to pursue their passion beyond high school. This effort is aligned with the State Board of Education’s goal for 60% of Idahoans attain a postsecondary degree or certificate.
The Idaho State Department of Education is dedicated to providing Advanced Opportunities to all students through dual credit, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate programs, overload coursework, and professional technical education, and is committed to supporting schools in maximizing these resources for Idaho students. Education vendors and supporters share this dedication and commitment; as such we invite you to be a part of this event.
Audience:
The Advanced Opportunities is partnersing with GEARUP West to convene school administrators, board members, academic advisors, career counselors, dual credit teachers, and Idaho’s post-secondary providers to one location.
Marketing Outreach:
With an expected 200 attendees, the Advanced Opportunities conference will highlight your services for all attendees. And addition 300-400 attendees will be there for the GEARUP West conference.
Program Updates:
Advanced Opportunities are quickly growing and changing. During this conference, you will have access to the most current information available including legislative updates, best practices in academic advising, and changes in dual credit options and funding sources.
Networking Opportunities:
This conference will bring together educators from around the state that work specifically on the bridge between secondary and post-secondary education.
