The Philadelphia Black Giving Circle (PBGC) is proud to announce its inaugural grant-making cycle. PBGC will award grants of up to $5000 for general operating support to eligible Philadelphia non-profits. With a mission to cultivate charitable giving and address the most pressing needs within the Black community, PBGC is committed to building the capacity and financial sustainability of Philadelphia's Black-led/Black serving non-profits. Voting members of PBGC collectively select the grantees.
KEY DATES:
- November 1, 2018 - PBGC grant cycle opens
- December 13, 2018 - PBGC grant cycle closes. Completed applications due by 5 pm
- Funding awards announced in February 2019
ELIGIBILITY:
PBGC will award grants for general operating support. Recognizing that small nonprofits play a major role in serving Philadelphia’s most underserved individuals and communities, priority will be given to organizations that have an annual operating budget of $1 million or less.
REQUIREMENTS:
Potential grantees must meet the following criteria:
- Nonprofit 501(c)(3) status or be under the auspices of a fiscal sponsor that is a 501(c)(3).
- Based in the City of Philadelphia
- Operating for at least 2 years
- Identify as Black-led and Black-serving
- Annual operating budget of less than $1 million*
*Please note: Organization cannot be a fundraising affiliate; must be fiscally sponsored
