Info Session Series: TDC Program Opportunities
Please use this form to register for the Info Sessions on The Democracy Commitment's Program Opportunities.  Please select the info sessions that you are interested in and you will receive confirmation and call-in information in at least a week in advance of the selected info session.  Please: Registration is required in order to receive the call-in information.  All institutions are welcome.

Info Session Series (all times are in EST):

11/28 at 3:00 pm- Immersive Civic Learning: Reacting to the Past and Civic Engagement
This session will feature Reacting to the Past (RTTP) and how historical game-based role-playing games can enhance civic skill building when integrated into the curriculum.  Join TDC's National Director has he describes his classroom experience using this pedagogy and about the game that he created: Bacon's Rebellion and the Birth of American Institutional Racism, 1676.  

11/29 at 3:00 pm- Community Change Studies Development with Community Learning Partnerships
This session will introduce the resources and movement of Community Learning Partnerships in development community change programs in community colleges nationwide through authentic partnerships between community organizations and institutions of higher education.  Join us as Ken Rolling, CLP's Executive Director, shares about CLP and its partnership with TDC.  

12/1 at 3:00 pm- Citizenship Under Siege 2.0
Join us as TDC explores ways to continue it's Citizenship Under Siege project which began through a partnership with AAC&U funded by a NEH grant  to orchestrate a series of public forums, each with accompanying programs and educational resources to bridge the rifts of who is entitled to be seen as an American citizen.  Participants of the second version of the project will host events that are framed through the powerful historic, ethical, and narrative lenses of the humanities.

12/7 at 3:00 pm- TDC Community College Political Engagement Project- CC-PEP
TDC’s new Community College Political Engagement Project is designed to advance democracy through political institutions, organizations and activities. Our goal is to engage our community college students and community in public life and in government through voting, contacting elected officials, being active in political organizations, debating issues, supporting causes, and participating in rallies. Join us as we prepare for the critical 2018 Elections.

12/11 at 11:00 am- Immersive Civic Learning: Senate Immersive Module with the Edward Kennedy Institute
Join us as we hear about the Edward Kennedy Institute's award-winning Senate Immersion Module (SIM) a program for students that uses negotiation and debate skills to learn about the legislative program.  Originally created for middle and high school students, learn how this program could be adapted for the community college through partnership with TDC.

12/12 at 2:00 pm- Webinar: A Year of Service for Community Colleges
Service Year Alliance and The Democracy Commitment (TDC) invite you to join us for an interactive webinar on how to integrate a year of service on your campus. Service Year Alliance works alongside The Democracy Commitment to share best practices and resources for recognizing service year experiences in enrollment management, in career services, and campus programming in community colleges across the country.

Please note that these are video conference calls and not webinars (except for 12/12 Community Colleges and Service Year).
