Our next unit in Theatre 1 is learning to critique and write about theatre. Netflix has released a live-taping of "Newsies: The Broadway Musical" and it would be a great opportunity for students to see a Broadway-level performance.  The musical is slightly different from the original film version with an all new score and some new characters.  The musical is rated PG. We will be screening this movie in class beginning Wednesday October 4 and finishing it Monday October 9. Students will be analyzing the performances and writing a newspaper-style review of the show.  This assignment will count as their Play Report requirement for Term 1 as outlined in the disclosure.

If you do not want your child to view this movie in class, they will be given an alternate assignment to work on in another teacher's classroom.
