About the award
The Nayef Al-Rodhan Prize, worth £25,000, is awarded annually for outstanding contribution to global cultural understanding to a wider public audience. This prize is designed to illuminate the interconnections and divisions of culture and identity in world civilization. The award was founded by the International Relations scholar, Dr Nayef Al-Rodhan. The Prize was first awarded in 2013.
Award specification
Eligible work can be a non-fiction book from any humanities or social science discipline or subjects. Nominators should be explicit in explaining why the subject matter is important and how the book is relevant to a wider debate. Edited volumes are not eligible. Nominated persons can be of any nationality, based anywhere in the world and working in any language provided that the nominated work is available in English. The book must have been published in English between 1 March 2016 and 28th February 2018.
