Workshop Facilitated by: Amy Coha, MSW, LCSW
Amy Coha, MSW, LCSW is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of New England, School of Social Work. Her social work experience includes working with individuals with mental illness and substance abuse issues and survivors of battering.  Coha was Associate Director of the Domestic Violence Project/SAFE House in Ann Arbor, Michigan for 15 years.  She is a subject matter expert for the Michigan Law Enforcement Training Council (MLEOTC) and provided trainings to law enforcement, judges, probation officers, and magistrates. She developed and teaches an advanced year clinical practice course for MSW students at UNE.  In addition, she has participated in ongoing university initiatives on interprofessional collaboration on IPV/DV. She has presented workshops and seminars for social workers and other mental health professionals on assessment, intervention, and ethical issues on Intimate Partner Violence at:  Sweetser Training Institute, NASW Annual Conference, and Friday Seminar Series, Maine Medical Center’s Grand Rounds, Tri-County Mental Health Services, and UNE-School of Social Work.  In 2008 Ellen Ridley of Family Crisis Services and Coha received a grant from the Bingham Foundation exploring the experiences of victims/survivors of abuse/battering when seeking mental health counseling.

Light refreshments, coffee, tea and water will be available throughout the workshop.  Lunch is on your own. There will be 1 hr for lunch around 12pm.
