Boom Boom Basics BurlyCon Award Application
Thank you for your interest in the Boom Boom Basics Burlesque & Performing Arts Studio, BurlyCon Award (scholarship)! It is our mission, to provide a thorough and comprehensive burlesque education, including helping our students achieve one well beyond our means. We believe in being life long learners and seeking out opportunities to work with experienced burlesque educators from around the globe. The Boom Boom Basics BurlyCon Award aims to assist our student and community base in attaining these goals. Through money raised via each of our Student Recital raffles, we are able to financially assist a student to attend the world's only burlesque educational convention, BurlyCon (www.burlycon.org).

Please fill out all fields and read instructions carefully for submission of essay. Only complete applications will be considered. We are seeking applicants who need financial assistance and: wish to further their burlesque education, are interested and actively involved in the global burlesque industry and communities, and are examples of positive community participation & work towards community growth on the local level.

Application deadline will close on January 14, 2019 at 11:59pm, and the Award winner will be announced January 18th, 2018. The Award will cover full registration, and a portion of travel and accommodations. Students who have been awarded Award, may not re-apply for one successive year. Please write an essay describing why you are a good candidate for the Boom Boom Basics BurlyCon Award. Please include what circumstances, special financial obligations, family or other extenuating circumstances weigh in on your need for financial assistance to attain burlesque education. We also urge you to consider writing about how this Award will help you, what you would like to learn at BurlyCon and how BurlyCon can help you develop as a performer, how you are an active part of the local and/or global burlesque communities, how you intend to give back to your local and/or global burlesque communities, what inspires you about burlesque and/or BurlyCon and why you find burlesque education important.
