The purpose of this form is for certified 501 c(3) nonprofits to request to become part of William & Mary Food Recovery's (WMFR) partner network to be notified of food recovery opportunities.

Our primary food donors will be catering event coordinators and dining halls at the campus of William & Mary, and the amount of recovery opportunities will vary with the amount of large events they have and the amount of leftover unserved food at said events and during dining hall closings.

The first section outlines our expectations of nonprofit partners as well as what nonprofit partners can expect from the food donors in our network. The second section is about your nonprofit's information.

Depending on the volume of requests, we will try to respond within 2-3 days. Thank you for taking the time to help reduce food waste and fight food insecurity in the community.

Food Recovery Donor Expectations *

You can expect the following from all donors submitting food recovery requests (Please check each box to denote that you have read them):

Provide accurate info in the donation request form and exhibit professionalism with nonprofits picking up food

Uphold timely, consistent communication, and notify nonprofit partner ahead of time if recovery is no longer needed

Donated food will not be left unrefrigerated for more than 1.5 hours before the requested pickup time (Excluding nonperishables and foods that do not require refrigeration)

Only unserved food will be donated (Food held back in the kitchen or catering storage unit that has not been on a serving line or served to a patron, unserved individual boxed lunches)

Donated food is catered by a restaurant or catering company and is not homemade

Food Recovery Partner Expectations *

The following list outlines expectations of nonprofit partners who wish to join our network. Please read over the expectations and ensure that everything is clear and that you have no concerns. If anything is unclear or of concern, feel free to send questions via the contact form at wmfoodrecovery.weebly.com. Nonprofit partners agree to the following:

Respond within 2-3 days to direct rescue requests from WMFR with a yes, no, or maybe

Uphold promises of arranged recovery and exhibit professionalism with donors (Arriving at promised time and giving timely notice in case of emergency food pickup cancellation)

Take responsibility for food safety once recovered food is picked up

Weigh recovered food and send WMFR a list with the total lbs. and general type of food (This will allow us to have statistics that could help us get grants to expand in the future)

Not resell recovered food (even for fundraisers) and to use it solely within your nonprofit

Complete brief monthly survey to update any new contact information within 7 days, unless there are extenuating circumstances (The purpose of the survey will be to keep info such as primary recovery contact up to date)
