Tin Shed Theatre Co. want to build a team of Newport people who can become part of a community theatre collective. To date the Public Theatre have taken part in many theatrical happenings including outdoor walk about performances, large scale outdoor events and much more.

What are we looking for?

No professional experience necessary, just the keen ability to learn more.

You must be over 18 and willing to give your free time. This is free to attend and we are able to offer expenses where we can for events outside the city. We try to meet as regularly as possible and more frequently when we are in production for a show, but we will attempt to fit around your schedules as best possible.

Whats next?

We are currently developing a collection of community projects for 2020 these are:

Big Skies: For the 3rd and final year we will be bringing the Big Skies event 2020 back to its roots in Newport at TREDEGAR HOUSE. We will be developing how we use this site for an event in autumn 2020 that will bring together people to celebrate the Gwent Levels and all it has to offer, there will be opportunities in performance, tech and production, costume, props and wardrobe. Watch this space!

The Public Panto!  - In december 2020 we want to curate and make a community pantomime just like the good old days! It will be developed, written and performed by The Public Theatre with the hope of presenting it in Pill. We are looking for anyone who wants to join in. Watch this space.
