AKIN PROJECTS
In consultation with the local community, the Kawartha Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, the Township of Selwyn, and Parks Canada, Akin Collective is excited to begin a feasibility study to explore possibilities for an ARTS AND CULTURE HUB at 2 Smith Street in Lakefield. We would love your input. With a focus on community and creativity, we are eager to look at ways that we can work together to bring new life to the old Trent-Severn Waterway Maintenance Yard. Your ideas and suggestions will be invaluable to the process of defining and designing the property, and we cannot wait to learn what you feel would cultivate a dynamic and creative space for the community.
Please feel free to reach out at any time - no question is too big or small, no idea too bold or bland. Thank you!

Akin is a Toronto based not-for-profit arts organization that provides affordable studio space to over 250 visual artists, designers and creatives. Our studios maintain an inclusive, friendly and inspiring atmosphere where people can work on creative endeavours and entrepreneurial undertakings of all kinds. As a matter of principle, all Akin events are free or low cost and are open to the public.
