Tormach Training Application
We are getting a CNC mill, and a part of that vote provides funding to have 4 PS1 members trained at Tormach's facility in Waunakee, WI. Before the Tormach gets ordered, Jim (cold metals area host) and Ash (cnc area host) wanted to call for any interested people to step up so we can identify the group we will be sending, and get the registration set up. The 4 day workshop occurs the last full week of the month Tuesday-Friday (see https://www.tormach.com/workshops.html for exact dates). We'll most likely be scheduling the training session for March, April, or May.

-Attendance of the full course is important and mandatory.
-After training you need to work with the danger committee to distill your experience into an authorization process for members and other authorizers.
-You also need to perform in person authorizations at least once a month for at least 6 months.…
-No previous experience necessary. Tormach gears their training to people with little to no machining or CNC experience
-Applications are due by 2/20
-Candidate selection will occur by 2/27
-To apply please provide your name, contact info, and a short blurb about what differentiates you from other applicants. Short and sweet is good.
-PS1 will cover h(m)otel for those 4 days and travel reimbursement up to $750 a person. Carpooling and sharing a hotel room are encouraged when possible, but not required.

Volunteers would get industry training, and a jump-start on how to use PS1's new tool. This could be a huge opportunity for someone looking for a new career. Attendees of Tormach's training also receive a $200 credit at Tormach to purchase supplies like indicators and simple tooling.
