Trip Leaders
Trena Montgomery is a social worker in Minneapolis, MN. Before her career in social work, Trena spent several years living and working in Palestine and Israel with the ELCA Young Adult in Global Mission Program and the Lutheran World Federation. In 2014, Trena was trained to lead trips to the Holy Land through the ELCA Peace Not Walls Young Adult Leadership Development Program. She has led two trips of young adults and is thrilled to share this unique and powerful opportunity with young adults.
Jessica Morton Smith is a youth minister at a large Lutheran church in Gettysburg, PA. While attending seminary in Philadelphia, Jessica had the opportunity to travel to the Holy Land with other young adults from around the country. It was a trip that has had a lasting impact on how she views the conflict in both Israel/Palestine and closer to home along the U.S. and Mexico border. She is excited to accompany young adults on such an important, faith-building pilgrimage.
