Hello, and welcome to the official Solo/Duet application. Thank you for choosing to apply to the 4th International Nerdlesque Festival, April 27-29, 2018 at Coney Island USA!

Applications will be open through December 31st, 2017.  We are unable to review any incomplete applications. Carefully follow the instructions and review your application before submitting it to the festival.

All applicants to the Nerdlesque Festival 2018 will have their act submission/s reviewed by a team of pros from around the country including Executive Producer Lefty Lucy, D20 Producer Anja Keister, BURLEXES Creator Heart Crimson, Legend of Nerdlesque Nasty Canasta, and The Professor of Nerdlesque Jojo Stiletto.

 * If you are not accepted to the festival, you have the option to receive a 10 minute act development feedback session with Executive Producer Lefty Lucy via Skype.

 * If you are accepted to the festival, you will:
    - perform among part of the exclusive cast of the 4th International Nerdlesque Festival on either Friday, April 27 or Saturday April 28 at historic Coney Island USA
    - receive a complimentary ticket to the night of the show you are not performing in
    - receive a thank you package from the production team and our sponsors
    - receive the opportunity to perform in or attend a Peer review featuring a panel of our headliners and legends. Open exclusively to performers and the performance community.
    - get incomparable access to classes from our headliners, feature performers, and Nerdlesque Legend
    - discounts to local Coney Island attractions including the Sideshow
    - have the option to participate in community partner housing. We have local performers open their homes and through the help of a lifestyle survey, partner them with performers in the festival to create a "burlesque buddy" system and limit expenses for out of towners.

Restrictions:
(1) Fire and aerial acts will be considered, but proof of insurance must be submitted with this application.
(2) Our venues are sensitive to excessive or loose glitter, blood and confetti, so be aware that use of either may not be allowed.
(3) Absolutely no paint or dyes-- body dyes are fine as long as they are self-contained.
(4) No full nudity – pasties and a merkin must be worn.
(5) Two submissions per applicant (including troupe, solo, and duet).

Along with your application, you must email one (1) photo of yourself to TheNerdlesqueFest@gmail.com. Your photo must be labeled (saved) with your StageName_NF2018_PhotographerName – example: (LeftyLucy_NF2018_BenTrivett). This photo will be used to promote you with the press and on the festival’s website if you are accepted to perform.

You must submit URL video of the act(s) you are planning to perform. Be sure your video URL is labeled with your performer name, is not password protected and will not expire. Please only use Vimeo or YouTube.

You must pay the application fee at the same time that you submit your application. Each submission (up to two) has a fee of $15.00. So, if you are submitting only one act then the total fee is $15.00, and if you are submitting two acts then the fee is $30.00. All payments should be made via PayPal to TheNerdlesqueFest@gmail.com.

A big part of this festival's purpose is to build community and artistic growth. To that end, in the event that your application is not chosen to be performed, we would love to offer a 10 minute feedback session via Skype with Lefty Lucy. This is entirely optional, so please indicate your interest on the last page of this application.
